Inconsistent care, staff clueless most of the time and they don't follow sensible protocols. My Mom who is a resident at Post Acute spent a few days in the hospital before returning to Post Acute. When she returned every single piece of her clothing in her closet was gone. Staff had no idea where it went. Obviously it was stolen. My Mom was in a hospital gown for a week before I went there and found her without clothes. Again, staff knew nothing about the situation. Nor did they step up and take responsibility. I had to buy $300 worth of clothes and shoes and a week later many pieces were missing. read more

Current employee review: This is my second year working at Pacific Coast Post Acute as a CNA. I've worked in many Healthcare settings and nursing homes. I can honestly say that Pacific coast is the best ran facility I've worked at. From administrative to nursing to and all departments. Many of our employees have been here for 15+ years. All the way up to 30 yrs. That alone tells you we are happy campers here. Our patients are treated with respect and dignity. And are lovingly cared for. Safety is always first. I see myself working here long term. Such a good work environment. Great health insurance too. read more

MY mom is bedridden and was sent to this facility. After a few weeks, It just gets worse. Takes an average of 15-25 minutes to get an attendant after pushing the button, about 60% of these employees seem very annoyed and with attitude. It seems they over look these patients are their customers, without them they would have a facility to provide income, the most crucial thing is these patients are of need of care, a smile, and genuine attention. It would be interesting if those employees would consider their own family members being in that institution. I would NOT recommend this place at all. read more

My brother stayed here for four weeks after a monthlong hospitalization. The administrative staff and nurses were very patient and work hard to make the people comfortable and well cared for. When people arrive here, it's the first step to rehabilitate and transition back to a normal life after challenging health problems. The PT staff, charge nurses and social workers do a great job in accommodating the needs of the individual. read more

I forgot to mention. While at Pacific Coast I got a horrible that put me back in the hospital for 8 days. Then they lied to me and said no patient had Covid, when in fact that was a lie. They had several with Covid. Thinking of lawsuit due to infection and poor living conditions. read more

My father was transferred there from the hospital to recuperate from an injury. Food is mediocre at best. On his second, one of the late afternoon nurses started yelling at my mom for no apparent reason. Awful customer service and lack of empathy from the nurses towards the patients that have to stay there. As we were leaving a patient was being yelled at by one of the nursing staff. read more

Pacific coast post acute is by far the BEST! facility. Our staff is trained to give the best care, for example, our number one priority is the patients safety followed by privacy and infection control etc. As you walk into our facility you will see that it is one of the cleanest and friendliest facilities. Our patients are comfortable and happy to be part of PCPA. Our social cervices coordinator makes sure of this by fixing any kind of problem or concerns the patient may have. The nurses are always on top of the patients needs and are willing to do anything in their power to make the patients happy with the care they are provided. The food here is also very enjoyable we have one of the best chefs in our kitchen, if the patient dislikes the food they will always be provided with an alternative. Our facility is unique because we have an Alzheimer section. Our staff specializes in this unit, we do activities with our patients and communicate with them in order to make them feel comfortable in their environment. Last but not least, our facility has an excellent therapy unit. They specialize in different type of therapy exercises, for example, our occupational therapist, who watch over our patients eating and makes sure that the patient is swallowing properly, if not they make sure the patient is provided with soft foods to help them eat and enjoy their food better. I am proud to say that I have been working as a cna for pacific coast acute, for almost 6 years and something that makes me love my job is seeing my patients smile after I help them with their needs , that " thank you " after helping with their actives of daily living lets me know I am doing a good job and makes me proud of what I can do for other people. I would not recommend this nursing care facility to anyone. We thought that we had made a decision regarding my father's mid-term care - he has Alzheimer's and this is one of the few facilities in the area that has, purportedly, the most comprehensive care. We did not stay long enough to find out. My father was transferred from Memorial Hospital to the facility a few blocks away. The nurse assigned to the Alzheimer's section was rude, didn't answer questions, didn't listen to us when we were explaining my father's level of comprehension - she also laughed at us at one point. The admitting nurse was dismissive of our concerns when we tried to see what the process was to get my father's full medical history to the facility. We happened to be in the process of dropping my father off during dinner time - the nursing assistants were arguing amongst themselves and tried to force feed my father. My mother had to raise her voice and tell them he wasn't hungry. This was a very stressful and emotionally difficult situation for my family - I would have thought that this is a situation that is commonly seen at a facility of this type - never did we feel understood or empathized with. The admitting nurse plain out told us - "well, you can take him with you." That is exactly what we did. The only person that was empathetic and tried to repair the situation was the van driver - he went above and beyond to help us - the two nurses could take some lessons from him. In regard to the physical building, wall paper was peeling, the floor was dirty, there was a puddle in the middle of a hallway - overall, a dump. This facility did not inspire the confidence that a family needs to have when facing such a decision. read more

Staff is friendly, helpful and with positive attitude. I appreciate them. The place is clean and has a big apiary. There's a schedule of activities, very few, but I saw no evidence of any. The food is terrible. It's let sit in insulated dishes for so long the broccoli turns olive green. They serve mystery meats that look like white Spam, mostly inedible. Breakfasts were OK. I brought my husband food. My husband went there in Sept. 2022 after 3 days at Memorial Hospital. I had brought him to the emergency dept. because of high blood pressure not being controlled by medication. They gave him something in the hospital that made balance, general alertness and affect worse, but did help the high blood pressure crisis for which I brought him to Memorial. After being out of the hospital for a day, he was much better and I wanted him home. They said his balance was bad, but it was the same as before I took him to the hospital. He did start physical therapy at Pacific Coast, but it took days before he even got an evaluation. He only had about 3 days of P.T. He went for at least 5 days without a shower. The showers are open areas. They turn off the water after wetting a person, so then the person is cold. I had appointment for us to get Bivalent Covid/flu shots, but the doctor said she didn't want to risk a fall and that it would be given by Pacific Coast. I failed to ask when, only to learn that shots would have to be ordered. That wasted all my time registering my husband for the vaccination and delayed his immunizations. I feel she lied to me by omission. Then, a few days later he was OKed for release, passed all the balance tests. The P.T. could not have helped that quickly. I wanted to take him home much sooner, but they make it hard to do that, waiting for evaluations, saying he balance was bad. I should have just taken him home against doctor's orders. We got a complete list of the medications, so many, that my husband was taking, upon release. We were contacted for physical and speech therapy by VNA. It seems that one qualifies for lots of services after being in a nursing facility. read more

We recently placed our 93 year old mother in Pacific Coast. And she was a handful the first few days. The staff was extremely patient and caring. We were kept fully informed and we were welcomed every time we visited. Whether it is the admin/case management staff or the person delivering meals everyone seems to take a personal intrest in the residents. They have consistently met our mother's and our needs. All we can say is "well done, Pacific Coast and thank you." read more

I just spent 6 weeks at Pacific Coast Post Acute. At one point, at midnight, I had 4 nurses attending me. I do not know of any other Rehab Center or Nursing home that has so many nurses on duty. On my first day, one of the resident physicians introduced himself. CNAs took my blood pressure & temperature each shift. LVNs and nurses attended me each day. My mom had been at this location when the facility was owned by a different company, so I was most pleasantly surprised at the improvements with the current management and current care. My cousin and my sister were recently in other rehab/nursing facilities in our area and neither came anywhere near the quality of care I received and neither had the number of staff and nurses Pacific Coast has to attend patients. I was happy to see non-ambulatory patients included in activities. I recommend this facility if you need care. (They also have Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy as well as Social Services). read more

Disgusting substandard food. Filthy & partially under construction premises. Incompetent, uncaring staff particularly the highly dangerous Dr. Ravin Sharma. I was here 23 hours without receiving ANY Doctors Care, the physical therapy that I came here for, or any edible food whatsoever. I have just had surgery on a shattered ankle and I had to beg for a single Norco for 2.5 hours. This is a medication I take on a daily basis and I don't appreciate having it doled out to me in adequate amounts and I do not feel that I should have to beg for what I am paying for. On Monday June first, I have to call the ombudsman and my attorney, and I am going to sue the s**t out of this nasty, lawbreaking establishment as soon as I am released. If you love somebody do not bring them to this nightmare hell hole. They will die before anyone answers free bedsidecall button! A horrible place to live or die, and the way they treat me it will probably be death for anyone who comes here. They also accept homeless people who have their rights and even they think the place sucks! read more

Great place, I've been using them for my mother for the last three years as things come up with health. My mom likes it there. Each year we have used Pacific Coast Post Acute her care has been very good. Very nice people to work with. The care for our Seniors is what so important. read more

We had to put our mother in PCPA for physical therapy and at first we were apprehensive. But things to consider are: No convalescent hospital on earth is pleasant to be a patient in and visitor to (realistically), working in one is a stressful job that takes patience and dedication, being surrounded by ill people with various health problems is hard to expose yourself to. That said, my mom has been in this treatment center going on 2 weeks and seems to be getting the care she desperately needs. I feel like the staff makes being a patient there as comfortable as possible. I expected to go in there to visit mom and see awful things but really, they have it all decorated for Halloween, have holiday activities and parties, contests, a pretty aviary full of birds and some parrots to look at. They seem to make the most out of what they are and even though it's still early in my mother's treatment, I at least have peace of mind knowing I am not leaving her in a place that neglects patients. read more

My father was discharged to Kindred Pacific Care directly from the hospital, and the staff made a difficult transition as good as it could have been, during a very stressful time for my dad and our family. The personal care has been excellent, and many small kindnesses to my dad have helped his morale. A plus for him was that he's a modest man and very much prefers to have his personal care done by a male. Kindred has more than the usual percentage of male staff, so my dad's comfort level is increased. He likes the food (definitely steps above hospital food) and the facility is clean and attractive. I've been especially impressed with the professionalism and positive attitude of the physical and occupational therapists. We've seen tremendous results, and their unflagging cheer and kindness has my total awe and respect. The entire staff has made me feel like we're all part of the team, moving my dad toward health and a more independent life. My whole family thanks them. read more
