This office is filled with most unprofessional workers ever. Says it opens at 8 am. I waited since 7:30 am and it didn't open until 8:30. The staff make everything harder instead of helping you. I told them to call me at a specific number when my turn is ready they called a different number. Afterwards Waited 2 and a half hours just a for a form to be filled. Just completed my annual physical and learned that the time I was informed by my provider that they did not coordinate is properly with Doctors On Duty. Happily the site staff pivoted and arranged for me to conduct the scheduled physical at another time and allowed me to not waste a day of leave time from my employer. Thank you DOD. Took my mother-in-law to access her mental capacity for making decisions as we legally needed a doctor's letter to corroborate her inability to make decisions. We had one letter from her primary, but we needed a second. She had been diagnosed with Alzheimers by hospital brain scans and by her geriatric medical doctor in 2022. A quick line of questioning by the doctor on duty would have ascertained she indeed has ALZ. She doesn't know the president's name, what year it is, how old she is, what city she resides in....etc. The final sentence of the letter we received said "A brief assessment suggests that she probably has dementia and is probably not capable of making good decisions regarding her health or financial matters". "Probably"...really??? Doc did not even put in minimal effort as we had to find another doctor today, and in minutes he had enough evidence to see her incompetence. Disappointed. read more

The staff here are all so kind, from start to finish. I live 5 minutes from another DOD location but I drive 45 mins to come here instead, due to the significant difference in quality of care. I recommend waiting for your appointment outside of the lobby, otherwise you have to listen to rude patients complaining and yelling at the front desk girls for things that are clearly outside of their control. Omg! My wife got injured and severely hurt her whole right arm and her back. Urgent care her were suppose to be NICE and HELPFUL with their patients. They kept their patients here waiting while in pain. And they don't even know if their patients have been helped or not! They don't think ahead of time how they can help their patient's anguish. They would rather sit down and have their patient come to them that could not even walk because THEY ARE IN PAIN! They could have saved my wife's time by asking what time their radiographer would be available. When we got to the other urgent care. Guess what? The radiographer is at lunch! So we had to wait for another 30mins! We could have saved 30mins by going to her work and get her personal things. But instead, we have to wait there since we are already there. They should know better how their patients feel and have to go through. Since they work here every freakin day! Know how your patients feels! Put yourself in their shoes! This urgent care experienced is bad! Expect it when you ever step your foot in this place. read more

There also was only one or two other patients while I was there both times, so not packed at all. I took my son here on December 20 to get tested for Covid and flu. He came back negative despite his test results. They refused to see him in office for an ear ache that he was having. The people working there did not communicate well with one another so we weren't sure if my son can be seen or not after 4 1/2 hours of going back-and-forth with them the doctor was able to see my son, the PA did an amazing job, examining my son, and determined he had a bad infection, and gave him medication. The staff here needs to know how to take notes in the patient chart and communicate better with one another. read more

My baby was sick and just would not break her fever, we decided to give this place a try before going to the ER. I am extremely grateful they diagnosed my baby and that same day she was finally fever free. While the wait was a little long (55mins or so) it was much faster and cleaner than going to the ER. read more

Wait time was 2 hrs on website so we used the " get in line now" process to make an "appointment " . Showed up at DOD at appointment time because text message said they would notify me if there was a delay. Still waiting here 90 minutes already without being seen and there are 4 patients ahead of me. I get it, unexpected things happen and things get behind. However, the whole appointment process over promises and under delivers. If I had known I would still have to wait for all the walk-ins to finish before I could be seen for my "appointment " I would have just left home and checked in earlier rather than follow their get in line now instructions. I had a FaceTime appointment with DR.LALIA BARNES and let me tell you she exceeded beyond my expectations. I had already spoken with three doctors from D.D and two of them disregarded my concerns claiming it could either be motherhood or something else to why I'm experiencing my symptoms. Didn't even bother asking me further question or ordering bloodwork. The third Doctor I spoke to did order blood work and did seem concerned but was still missing a couple things.But fortunately Dr.Lalia Barnes was aware of those other symptoms & asked me the RIGHT questions. Truly listened to me, wanted to get to the bottom of what could my possible illness be, ordered melé blood work, and didn't make me feel like my symptoms were in my head or a cause of motherhood like the other doctors. She was very knowledgeable and I wish I didn't have to go through so many Doctors to feel like my symptoms were being considered. She's a healthcare provider for the right reasons and we need more like her. read more

Waited almost 4 hours to be seen. They told me it would only be an hour and a half. When they finally called me back. I had to wait an extra hour. (No exaggeration) when they brought me to a room. They didn't change the paper on the chair and it had blood from the previous patient. Extremely unprofessional. Everyone I spoke to was extremely rude and nonchalant. The staff is friendly and efficient, though there were long wait times they kept me posted. I suffered a work injury that was quite painful. Dr. Satyanarayana was kind and thourough at each visit which I had to go into see him at least once a month to monitor my progress. I also contracted Covid at work and he was sympathetic and encouraging. I wasn't a happy person during that period but I was being treated by an excellent physician I wish I could keep as my primary care physician for myself and my husband. Had great customer service from binging to end , even after I was ask to come in for an X-Ray she came out to greeted me and help me out, Only bad experience was the PA Elizabeth Dahl I was seen for my ankle and I ask if she was going to give me a brace and or crutches and she refused to write an order for one and let me walk out in pain. I was experiencing leg pain. It was unusually strong so I seek medical help. I went back to SUC because in the past they have done very well aiding me to keep healthy. Shannon, the nurse practitioner who saw me, took the time to explore with me the possible causes of my pain. I stated my sensations and she came up with a good hipótesis. After analyzing her reasoning, I acquiesce to her diagnosis. It has been only 24 hours and I feel much better. Without hesitation, SUC is the place where I seek medical help. Are you kidding? I and several co-workers have gotten referred here by employers out of necessity. Let's be clear and to the point: Why they exist is beyond our comprehension. Most of the front office staff either have hearts of stone or trained in presenting dead-panned looks. And be sure to follow orders without question or you'll be set straight before you can say, "But..." We think all urgent care places - at least in Salinas - share these awful practices and characteristics. I signed up for a telemed appointment, and was driving back to my house, and I got a call from a male. He told me, more like accused me of having a past $200 bill that was not paid, and that I had a $30 copayment for the telemed visit. Absolutely no finesse whatsoever. Doesn't even tell me his name during the call. Knowing that I recently went to DOD to get a covid test to see my mom in the hospital less than a month ago, I go, "Has doctors on duty even sent me a bill for the $200?" He says, "I don't know." And I tell him, "How can I pay a bill if I haven't received it?" He asked if I could pay it then, and I told him no, I was driving and that I would call him back. I called the incoming number back, and no one knew who I was talking about. The male called me back right before my visit, and asked if I could pay. I told him I had no problem paying for my copayment, but I wanted to see the covid bill first before I paid it. He was rude, short, and mumbled on the phone. I had it, I asked his name and he gave the name of Emmanuel. After I asked his name, he knew I was hot, and started having better service. The only reason I gave 2 stars was that the telemed doctor was great. I believe her name was Dr. Carr. I'll leave with this: First off, I'm an attorney, so I have no issues with paying my bills. Secondly, I don't appreciate someone calling me like a bill collector when I haven't even received a bill. And thirdly, I don't like being spoken to like someone who doesn't pay their bills. read more
