The front desk staff aren't very friendly. After our visit, I asked the gal to send over the medical notes and records to my husband's primary doctor but she told me she couldn't do so. Im not sure if this is true or if she was just lazy to do so. The only reason why I suggested she do so was because I called our primary care and told them about the accident and I was told to request the records be sent in by the center...but instead she gave me a phone number to call and short it out myself. Sigh. Atleast the doctors were attentive and friendly, Carolyn took care of my husband and she was very reassuring. Worst urgent care possible for time management . I would avoid at all costs. Very unprofessional staff. They lie to you about the wait times. My favorite Doctor's On Duty location! The front desk girls are very kind and always provide a warm welcome. They are never rude which is refreshing. Every time I call, they answer the phone and answer any question I have. My provider here, Kristina, is sweet, knowledgeable, and all about patient care and I always look forward to seeing her. The Clinic Manager Eric is super efficient, responsive, and runs a great clinic. They value their patients which makes my time here well spent. read more

For an existing patient waiting for 5 hours just to get seen and order for lab work to get it done is extremely bad and with not real doctor, it's okay to have a PA or NP in the clinic but please don't let ur other patients waiting in the lobby to get seen without having anything by mouth cause of lab work. First I want to point out that when I moved to the Monterey Peninsula about 3 years ago there were no--none--zero Primary Care Physicians who would take a new patient. I had no idea what to do. Drive back to Napa when I had a little heart flutter, or (at that time) needed a Covid test? As a newcomer, it took a while to locate but one day I saw the sign for Doctors on Duty, in Seaside, and have been grateful ever since. Sure, there is sometimes a wait, but appointments can be made. And sometimes the lack of available specialists in the area is frustrating, but DOD always goes to bat for me and finds an appropriate solution. The DOCTORS that are, well, ON DUTY, have always been kind and professional and listened to my concerns. I'm so grateful they are there! read more

This is the best place to go if you wanna wait three hours and they just tell you every 10 minutes that they're just waiting for room to clear up. don't get me started on the staff how professional they are not. My poor mother-in-law literally waited three hours and I went in after two hours and told me oh she will be in less than an hour just waiting for the room to clear up honestly, the worst doctors in duty by far highly recommend doctors on duty in Monterey. I called on Tuesday for an appt for my adult daughter,she was very ill, she needed to see her primary before revisiting her urologist ,DOD only had an appointment the day after her urologist appointment. That couldn't work so the receptionist told me,have your daughter come in as a walk in 8 am on Friday.She was there at 7:30am. She got a big run around,told her to come back at 1pm. She was in pain and tears. She basically needed a referral to a nephrologist. Not some big exam or long drawn out visit,I had explained that when I talked to the receptionist and she said yes have her come at 8:00am friday, as a walk-in that would be best. OK ...ok..WHY TELL ILL PEOPLE ONE THING AND THEN SWITCH IT UP. I talked with Derrick,office manager(manage that walk in stuff better dude) he explained there was only one doctor ,like WTF??? and if we kept all the walk-ins coming in and the appointments he would have to be here till midnight and that's not good. Understood my man. But why not put a note on the door saying that if you walk in you're not guaranteed to be see until later in the day OR we have walk-ins but it's not guaranteed!!! But don't have your receptionist sit there and blow smoke up someone's ass that's sick!! it's ridiculous!! now I know why people dog doctors on duty. My advice find a good family practice, that get to know you, get your symptoms,get to know your personality and understand what's going on with you,because doctors on duty,do not have that connection with their patients. THE SEASIDE DOCTORS ON DUTY, RECEPTIONIST SERVICE IS HORRIBLE.specially the one sits at the entrance on the right side next to the wall. she is a very rude and unprofessional despot, I ask her about something and she answers me in a bad way, I had already reported her to the manager in the past, but it seems that she doesn't care because she is still the same, RUDE with the service.. While I was treated with a level of regard when having to complete my pre-work physical, the ladies at the front desk are not very personable. They whisper to each other and gossip. It seems like the patients are the least of their concern. It's my fault that I missed getting my TB test read by an hour, however, the system to re-administer the test should have taken 3 minutes max, yet no one gave me a timeframe and it took far too long. read more

Came for an ER follow-up, needing a follow-up and referral to a specialist. I had to wait for a while, but my primary care couldn't see me for two weeks. Yes, I'll sign in online and wait there for half an hour to be seen today, please. The staff was great. My doctor was able to get all my records from the hospital before she saw me (I had previously signed a release.) She listened to all my concerns and found me meds that would work for me. I was able to get a referral and the meds I need today. Yes, you have to wait. Yes, you might get put behind someone else in line because that's how triage works. But you can see a doctor and get the help you need way sooner than other places, and that's amazing. read more

I recently visited this Doctors on Duty for a Covid/Flu test. I had a very short wait time and Weslee the MA was great. She was very fast and gentle when doing the swab. I had my results within the hour. I really appreciate their service and would recommend them if you needs to get tested. read more

So I went to CHOMP and found out that I had kidney stones, which lead to sepsis. Sepsis, which was often called blood poisoning, is the body's life-threatening response to infection. They took care of me and I relied on my mom to help me make an appointment, but the receptionist said nothing was available. This appt was detrimental for my health, because I needed a referral and without your primary care doctor you cannot get a referral to a specialist. DOD is my primary care provide, not by choice, but this is where Central Coast Alliance I guess sends everyone now. So the receptionist proceeded to tell my mom that we could walk in at 8am when they opened and be seen. We were then told that I wouldn't be seen until 1pm, mind you I'm very weak and I'll still because if you know what sepsis is you know! So after my mom called they I formed me that I would be seen at 9:40 am. I was then at ease. So my mom called talked to the Manager and I didnt know exactly what was said, but he decided to walt his unprofessional ass into the room they had me wait in. I was laying down and when I heard the door open I thought it was the doctor, and he says hi, how's it going? I get up after finally being able to relax from sitting on the hard chairs and said not good at all. HE the unprofessional manager proceeds to complain about how he didn't appreciate the way my mother called and was saying to him. I looked at him in complete shock and said and why are you coming in here and telling me about something someone else said to you? I don't give a fuck what the fuck she said to you, I'm sick as fuck and he said well I'm going to put the note in your file! I said SO I don't give a fuck what you fucking do just get the fuck out of my room he then proceeded I don't appreciate her using the words and I cut him off and said I don't give a fuck, I don't give fuck get out of here I'm sick what the fuck is your problem? The audacity of this unprofessional so called manager! I'm writing this and just flashed back! People need to know, the people higher than this joker need to read this and know. He was exceptionally patient and professional with us, and made the whole process as smooth as it could possibly be! Exceptionally nice, friendly staff, but incredibly frustrating experience. After having checked-in online (which I understood was not an appointment, but simply a marker for when to come to the office) I arrived 15 minutes early with my forms all filled out to submit. (This was for a TB Test that needed to be completed for my job.) After having arrived at 8:55, it took me until 10:10 to finally be seen, even as other individuals arrived who were walk-ins, had not checked in online, who were then seen shortly thereafter, had their appointments and left. All in the span of time it took for them to address my routine TB test. I've never felt compelled to write a review on a business / office in the past, but this was an absolutely unacceptable example of service and I am exceptionally angry at having been made to wait for so long when I'd made all the necessary arrangements before having arrived at the location. (It also has to be said that I was one of only two individuals, according to the monitor, who had checked in online, out of perhaps 15.) Deeply disappointing. read more

About my only complaint with Doctors on Duty are the wait times. Seems like an awfully long time waiting...when it's mere minutes that the Doctor spend with you. That aside. The staff is always friendly. The Doctors approachable. And the technology for signing in for appointments limits a lot of paperwork, etc. read more

I was impressed. I found Dr. Sasson to be reasonable, smart and understanding. Maybe I was just distracted by his dreamy blue eyes, maybe I just needed to hear a doctor tell me what was going on with my panic attacks. Either way...I felt understood and well-educated and ultimately a bit more relieved after my visits. Front desk staff and nurses were pleasant as well. There's a sign outside that says do not enter and to call. I call no answer for 5 time so I decided to go in to check in for a work injury and the MA isn't friendly at all and doesn't have a name tag. So she had me fill some papers regarding my work injury. My thing is if you work on healthcare you need to be very nice and go beyond. I work on the healthcare industry and I love what I do. I believe doctors need to see how their MA'S work cause some really suck their there for a pay check not for the patients. read more

Oh my gosh......Bring your A game here and an Advocate......we went in with a back injury and they did nothing.....we are 16 days into a pain level at an 8 ....and they're telling us to put ice on it......really?.....no pain meds? No exray? No mri? We're not junkies....we're a respectable patient being dismissed and pain is continuing. Told to come in next week. My only advice if you have to go here.... and we had to cause this was a workmen's comp injury.....they are going to put a bandage on your compressed disc and tell you to come back in a week. Actually gave us very bad stretching exercises. Uninformed and unsympathetic. Told us to go to the emergency room because aspirin should be just fine. Doctor said she had other patients and we'd have to take our chances and come back for another visit to get a prescription for pain. read more

I went in to this office for a routine referral. It should not have been problematic, nor difficult. I checked in around 3 PM, and was surprised that I was given a near 3 hour wait time. I checked with the front desk (or at least attempted to) to see if the wait time was accurate. Sometimes, the queue moves much more quickly than the automated system indicates (likely in an attempt to avoid disappointment with early check-in estimates). The staff was absolutely shocked that I was asking. This is a routine question, I'm sure it's asked many times a day. Any staff with any experience at all should have been able to answer this question with ease. They should have some knowledge of how quickly or slowly the queue moves regardless of automated messages. Instead, they answered a flat yes, and it was clear that they were bothered by my question and by being curt, hoped I would go away. I checked my phone and received an automated message stating the time I should be back in office. I showed up exactly on time, actually fives minutes early (the test indicated I should arrive at least 20 minutes early for my "appointment": I arrived 25 minutes early. I attempted to check in for my "appointment." The woman seated at the desk said I was not in my system. This is EXACTLY the situation I had attempted to avoid. Doctors on Duty routinely clears the queue without ever "reserving" a time for it's customers. Very few people out of pocket I assume, so since their paychecks are provided for by insurance providers, they feel little to no sense of accountability to their actual patients themselves. As long as they get paid, your satisfaction or dissatisfaction is largely irrelevant. I attempted to tell the intake staff that I had received a text message, but the staff member began yelling at me "You are NOT in the system!" I showed her my phone's text message anyway, but she ignored it, stating "I don't know who you are unless you check in!" She was yelling and frowning. I was shocked at this person's utter lack of professionalism, immaturity and hostility. I stared at her with my jaw dropped. She stated flatly "unless you sign in you won't be seen!" I asked to see a manager. The intake staff told me that there was no manager on premises. That was it. Another staff member rushed out from the side of the building and she was MAD. She stated "you need to check your aggression." What?!? The woman at the counter was yelling at me, and completely ignored the fact that any "reservation" or "appointment" time had been completely dismissed after nearly a three hour wait! Meanwhile, this lady came out of the back area to the waiting to help another lady with her forms personally. Talk about a double standard! This lady told me that there was only one person ahead of me implying I would be seen relatively soon, ignoring the fact that their reservation system was completely inaccurate. Not to mention the fact that I had attempted to clarify how long it might actually take to be seen, and they refused to answer in any meaningful way. To their credit, there was one sympathetic lady, but she is a visiting/observing student, not a staff member. She was willing to listen to my concerns in lieu of a manager or any supervisor on duty. The R.N. on duty seemed more or less concerned, but she was forced into a position where she was dealing with a staff problem rather than a health problem and she was unable to assist. Guys, setting up an appointment is an automatic, brainless, painless process. There is absolutely no reason to botch something this simple. These people are paid are answer questions. If they can't even bring themselves to answer simple questions about a reservation queue, you can imagine how bad the actual medical advice or service will be. This office is a complete disaster. The staff here is utterly incompetent and unprofessional. I gave them an opportunity to show some professionalism, and maybe even to help me with a very simple request. They failed miserably. Avoid at all costs. Also, be careful as there is a homeless encampment in the corner nook of Doctors on Duty property at the intersection between Doctors on Duty and Bank of America. They have been there for some period of time. They have a large shopping cart, a lawn chair setup, and bedding. There are also homeless sleeping in the alley at the back of Grocery Outlet, and more homeless in the small plaza area at the intersection by Buffalo Wild Wings. There is a mall security guard but he does not patrol the mall, remaining stationary by the Pizza Parlor location. read more

On Wednesday 10/14. I had to make a virtual appt. Due to an ear ache. Nadia and the receptionist were great with helping me arrange my appt. I appreciate their patience and great communication, very lovely to speak with, made my virtual experience great. I feel comfortable going through another virtual appt. If needed. I have been seeing this Office for an infection in my leg that no Surgeon has been able to figure out for the last 5 years. The front desk staff are Gems Super friendly, very professional with beautiful demeanors. I have always been seen immediately upon arriving. I was seen by Dr. Erin Morgan. She is fantastic! I haven't felt at ease with any Dr. in years. Every appointment I have had has been smooth and thorough. Every concern I had was addressed and more. Every time I call for an appt it's at ease and with a smile. I love my Seaside Doctors on Duty and all the staff. They make me laugh leaving me with a smile when I leave. Coming to this office a literally a waste of time. First no one is gonna see with out an appointment. Then when you get to the appointment you gotta at least 45 minutes to get into a room and another 45 to see a doctor once you're in the room.
