I think she spent part of her weekend to research everything. I know that we all see things through a different perspective. I assume that the revocation…read moreof his medical license was "for life" but just in case Bergstrom is ever allowed to practice medicine again, I'm posting this quote from the January 25, 2013 "Monterey County Herald" "Immediately after the conviction, Bergstrom gave up his medical license in California...just as California's Medical Board took steps to revoke his license because of the case." "The board cited several additional reasons for the revocation based on audio recordings of Bergstrom, including jailhouse phone calls that indicated he was practicing medicine while in Monterey County Jail." "According to court records, Bergstrom once inadvertently left a dictation machine running in his office that recorded him offering to sell cocaine or trade it for sex. He admitted at trial that he traded prescription drugs for cocaine." At one point, Bergstrom was my elderly parents' doctor. Bergstrom did not have the patience to care for geriatric patients. Bergstrom may have been good with tall, thin, young, leggy blonde gals BUT I cannot recommend him for senior citizens.

He tells you what treatments are available for the medical issues you have and recommends sensible/effective treatment. I like it that he won't just write a Rx for antibiotics if it is a viral infection. He responds quickly and will help you in need. I once had a bad kink in my neck with painful bad spasms and could not turn my head on one Christmas eve (I have documented herniated discs in my neck) and he called me back quickly and was able to renew my Rx that day. He will squeeze me in for pressing issues. He is the old fashioned great practioner who thinks of patients first and he is up to date on latest studies. He will also refer you if needed.

We have alot of history as today, I am going on my 12th year of being Cancer Free. In the very beginning of my treatment, Dr. Shiffman wanted to go outside of the box, get other oncologists opinions, anything that it would take because my prognois was prettty bad...a few months at the most. From the very first appointment he had me...his warmth was genuine and his determination was strong. I could call the office at anytime of the day with questions...he has a fabulous staff and I get an answer pronto from either the Doctor himself or one of his assistants. Dr, Shiffman held my hand during some very difficult times and decisions. While an Oncologists has to have one of the hardest jobs in the field of medicine, he always greets you with warmth and a generous hug and you, and during that visit, however long it takes, he is all yours 110%. Thank you Dr. Shiffman for all that you have done for me and so many on the Monterey Peninsula fighting this thing called Cancer.

I am 51 years old, athletic, stubborn and have not been to the Dr. in many years(other than an OB gyn). I finally was in enough chronic pain that I decided to get my hip replaced in November 2014. Well...I go to my preop and they tell me that the surgery is a no go...you have issues with low blood counts. They told me to find a hemotologist so I asked for a referral from my GYN and she suggested Dr. Shiffman. The long and short of it...he worked with another dr in Chicago and talked with a dr in San Francsico about my case and figured out that I have Myeloma. He explained that it is smoldering and it is difficult to diagnose. I was able to get my hip replaced and am feeling good. I now have a great Onco in chicago and I am being watched with no treatment. If I hadn't met Dr. Shiffman, I may have remained one of the many undiagnosed patients. Dr. Shiffman really cares!

07/20/2018 Overall…read moreExpertise Facility Professionalism I just had a sleep test at Monterey Bay Sleep Center and they were very nice and profession .The sleep center is very clean and that was important to me.The beds are so comfortable its made it easy to sleep. What I liked is that the receptionist went over the office policy in detail about no show or cancellation so that I won't be charged $250 she also got the approval from my insurance company, she made the process very easy. I highly recommend this sleep center.

My doctored sent me to the Monterey Bay Sleep Center for a sleep study about a month ago. The staff…read morewas friendly and attentive and the room was comfortable and felt like a hotel room. It was as comfortable as one could make it, given the numerous wires that were hooked up to me at the time. Two reasons for the low score: 1) It is incredibly difficult to get ahold of anyone at the office to answer questions or make an appointment. After my doctors office assured me that the necessary paperwork had been sent to the sleep center, i had to repeatedly call their office and leave multiple voicemails in order to schedule my sleep study. If I wasnt proactive in reaching out to the office, I fear my study wouldnt have been scheduled for weeks later than it actually was. 2). While the rooms are comfortable, they are unfortunately NOT sound proof. I was awoken in the middle of the night by the sound of doors opening and closing, a TV being on in the background, and the proximity to Garden Road and the Monterey Airport didnt help as I could hear traffic on the road and airplanes landing/taking off. You would hope that the facility would take more steps to sound proof the rooms, especially given the fact that the sole purpose of the facility is for sleep studies.
