The sign in the front office says they can refuse to see you if you are 10 minutes late for your appointment or bill you for your missed appointment but yet we have to wait HOURS to see anyone.

So, the place is great & the doc is nice - but you will spend 45 mins - to an hour past the appointment time to get into an exam room. Then you sit in there for a while as well. The part that irks me the most is the form you sign that threatens you with a $75 fine if you fail to meet the appointment time - then refuses to reciprocate. Not a great way to treat people.

On top of that the DRs knowledge on my current medication was alarming and his advice goes against the current science. The office staff was rude and appear to be over worked as I constantly had to correct them with information I had given just seconds before they got wrong. If you are retired I guess it would be OK but I run my own business and have a busy schedule. Time is money and you can never get it back.

I called Monday late in the day since I hadn't heard from ultrasound dr. office to schedule. thought my symptoms warranted some expediting. nope, the scheduler was backed up and hadn't got to it. left it alone for a day, called back Wednesday spoke with Melissa who asked me to bear with them as they had only one scheduler for all five doctors. Im still in pain, thinking the worst. gave it another day, called Friday later in the day and pleaded to please schedule as I was worried and needed help, she apologized and agreed five days was excessive. done deal, Tuesday I was set up for a 9:30 app. but I had to endure another weekend stressing myself out. The ultrasound was done, I asked the tech. if my Dr. would receive the results that day. answer: YES. later that day I called my dr. office hoping to get an answer. Answer: yes we've received the results they have been forwarded to your dr. , but he's gone for the day. Me: look I'm really anxious and stressed out can you please ask the doctor to get back to me. answer: Yes. Next day- nothing all day, I call again later in day. Answer- your dr. has the results but is gone for the day. Still in Pain. Next Day I wait till 2 pm and call again, finally I stress my anxiousness verbally again to the front desk.answer from the front desk: okay your results are XY and Z, mind you this was the receptionist not the DR. or Medical assistant telling me the ultrasound results. I was pissed asked to speak with the manager about this garbage ideal of a healthcare facility ( poor thing was two weeks new to the job) and agreed she walked into a shitstorm of an office. she conveys my message to the ordering physician, ordering physician calls me back and says she didn't get results till that day. I let her know what I thought about my hole experience with Salinas valley prime care in Ryan Ranch, and I literally had to get condescending snickering feedback from a licensed professional about how I basically was impatient and thats how things were done in that office. Nobody asks if ur having contractions, labor symptoms, no urine test done but they'll put in notes that you said you're not experiencing this when it wasn't even discussed. Very odd practice IMO and not something I've experienced with my other two pregnancies. Not to mention the 60-90 min wait time just to be seen for 10 min and not even have questions answered. I can't wait to go back to my regular OB.

I have seen him for many health issues and never been offered ANY drugs to help me "deal" with any issue I have encountered. It was ALWAYS a last-option for him. In 2008, my Autistic son tried to commit suicide from being bullied so much and Dr. Cortes was the most loyal, caring and empathetic individual that helped me through this trying and frustrating life experience. WITHOUT drugs!!! In 2009, my brother died in an unexpected accident. Traumatized does not EVEN begin to describe what happened to me. I was suicidal and depressed for months. He went out of his way to call me, see me in his office on a dime, and pretty much arrange all the help that I needed for the next YEAR or so. He is a STAND-UP physician. My kids LOVE him. He is a family man. He talks about his family and life- IF you ask him and ONLY if you ask him. He has never been anything but, awesome. He has amazing energy, enjoys his chosen line-of-work and makes you feel like the only patient he has on his schedule- every time. Unfortunately, he has recently been directed to not spend so much time with his patients due to the increase in patients at his office. I have to book weeks and sometimes a month or two out to see him and then, I get very little time when I do see him. I feel terrible that him and his nurses are to be rushed now. It doesn't take away from him being a good Dr. though. He is still the best of the best of the best. Thanks for ALWAYS caring Dr. Cortes. I will never forget your kindness when Danny passed away. You are the most positive person I have ever met!!!!

He demonstrates his expertise in a holistic way: diet, exercise, relationships, medications, surgeries, etc. I think he's brilliant and very human. In addition I am profoundly grateful that he communicates with the whole care team for the patient. For example, if you need cardio care, he coordinates the data and consults with the other physicians and gives you as much time as you need to understand your options and your diagnoses. This is critical when you're at a juncture between several experts and doctors. He's a real mensch.
