He has cared for my hands/wrist (carpal tunnel and trigger fingers) and did a hip replacement on me in 2012. The office itself is new and comfortable. The front desk staff is polite and attends to your needs as quickly as they can. I do wish that physicians would utilize RNs for patient care, because medical assistants just do not have the knowledge to make relevant observations regarding patients, their needs or complaints. I have had painful office procedures (diagnostic and therapeutic injections) and Dr. Heyne performed those competently and gently. I never got the feeling he was hurrying me along, and he'd stop during a procedure in order for me to regain my wits. My hip surgery was carried out using the less invasive anterior (near the groin) approach. My only complaint, and this is not the doctor's fault, but I was booted out of the hospital way too quickly after my procedure.

His office staff and nursing staff are very professional and friendly and helpful and kind. They motivated me to go back after a poor diagnosis from my MRI about my hip. I will never ever let anyone else touch me again for surgery. I have a right knee and hip replacement. Now I have a left hip replacement and down the road I'm gonna need my left knee replaced. To add to this review their outpatient physical therapy department is awesome. Thank you dr Hershey and staff you're all angels

As time went on this became less and less the case. He seemed angry when called, would rush out of appointments and wouldn't return calls. Her referred her to a pain management who was terrible and injected the wrong area. She ended up in the hospital with severe pain, unable to move. On day 2, he discharged her without telling us even though she couldn't even move her legs because of severe pain. When we called his office to get answers he never called back and told the nurses he would not be coming back to see her. We refused to take her home and the hospitalist agreed she should stay until she could at least get out of bed on her own. She was in the hospital for 7 days!!!! I guess it's easy to discharge someone when you're not the one feeling their pain. After consulting with several physicians we chose a Neurosurgeon for her spinal issues and boy what a difference! She's off Narcotics after several years and had surgery to fix her nerve/spine issues which was successful and she only takes Ibuprofen for her minimal pain. Also wanted to mention Dr Daniels has left 3 practices abruptly. His first office in Watsonville, he left and we couldn't get answers as to if and when he was coming back or where he would be moving to so we could get an appointment. Several months ago he sends out letter he is leaving his newer practice with Coastal Health partners and moved to a practice in Texas. Come to find out he left that practice abruptly also and is now working for a practice in Visalia, Ca. Doesn't sound like a stable MD

Let me start by saying he is incredibly nice. He seemed to care about my situation therefore I…read moretrusted him never doubting him. He performed 2 back surgeries on me on November 2020. I had a herniated disk. The herniation returned so I went back to surgery. The pain I endured for 3 months is something indescribable. I would visit his office every 2 to 3 weeks complaining of pain. He would quickly dismiss my pain by being "normal". Except no pain is normal. Pain is the bodies way of telling you something is wrong. Back in January of 2021 I experienced more complications. From having a mass on my incision that exploded causing yellow fluid to come out of my back. In which he said it was normal and giving me antibiotics in case I had an infection. That same week both of my knees down to my feet were swollen, red and hot. I also had that on both of my arms down towards my hands. I went to his office again which again he dismissed. Stating if it was an infection in my joints I wouldn't be walking anymore. Well I wasn't I couldn't even stand up for him to check my incision. He sent me home telling me to continue drinking my antibiotics and ibuprofen for the pain. The pain was excruciating! I couldn't get out of bed at that point. When I would get up I would do it screaming in agony. I traumatized my neighbors as well as my family. The ambulance had to come and get me. I had to be airlifted to Standford hospital because Watsonville Hospital couldn't do anything for me. The infection was incredibly sever and rare. I had an emergency surgery that same day I was airlifted and had to be in bed for 5 days since my spine was weak. I ended up having 3 surgeries at Stanford. They saved my life. I can happily say I am PAIN FREE! I had to re learn to walk by myself without relying on a walker. The trauma I have endured is huge. This is why I'm writing this review. I read all the great reviews on him therefore I trusted him with my spine. Also because he was nice. Yet dismissing your patients pain and just seeing them for a quick couple of minutes is in my opinion incredibly unprofessional. I ask people to do their research especially when having BACK SURGERY! I don't wish this pain upon anyone. Since he was nice I trusted him. I made excuses for him. That he was the doctor he studied for this so he should know. Well turns out I should have listened to myself to my gut. I am lucky to be walking. I am lucky to be alive. I always had trust issues with doctors but now more than ever. People listen to your body TRUST YOUR BODY. Don't allow someone to tell your pain is natural when it truly isn't. NO PAIN IS NATURAL!

Although there was a short wait, it was so worth it in terms of bedside manner and just.... IDk, I left feeling like I had just spoken with a very competent & experienced doctor. He didn't sugar coat anything, and made me feel at least a little more hopeful about the future. I don't think I'm going to have surgery yet, but If/when I do, I'd definitely trust this doctor with my life, literally!

Life Changing!!…read more First, let me just say I was getting so pissed reading through some of the bad reviews because I have now done (2) 3 month rounds of therapy here and all those complaints are just nonexistent now. I just laughed when I saw they were 5 and 10 yr old years old. They really should, at some point, be expired and taken down. Those old reviews have absolutely no bearing on how the place is run and staffed today. I started my first round of therapy at Pacific Coast in May of 2022. I HATED it, but had to wear a mask per PC rules, while in the facility, and they ABSOLUTELY spray and wipe down everything after patient contact and STILL DO. The mask, per state regulation is optional now, per the patients comfortability. After any kind of major surgery you are hurting. It is a no brainer that your recovery is gonna hurt too. Sitting down to pee hurts so I'm not sure what the previous clients were expecting. I've cried lots of times doing physical therapy. I WANT to push myself to get my full range of motion back. Your body just went through a very a traumatic experience with your surgery. Like you babies, it just wants to curl up and go to sleep, and wake up feeling better. So here's a Wake Up! It doesn't work that way! How old were these reviewers? I my past I have been sent to some pretty nasty boot camp therapy facilities and this ain't them. I have to say I was less than thrilled that my knee surgeon was so adamant about me using Pacific Coast for my p.t. post surgery because I live in Capitola, and at that time my handicap accessible van was costing me $150 to fill its tank. Not to mention dealing with the traffic. I also have back issues with surgeries overlapping or postponing my knee surgeries. My pain was constant and coming from everywhere. The LAST thing I wanted to do was get up, clean up, and make that 30 minute trek into Watsonville. I was so terrified the first time around, they may have indulged me a bit more with extended ice packs and massages. No matter what level of pain I was crying about or where it was coming from, they would convince me to come in anyway. I can tell you I ALWAYS left them either feeling better about myself or just feeling better in my recovery. There is such a good positive energy in that place. The therapists are young, excited to learn and work and really weirdly happy. The front desk has always treated me with respect and kindness and let me tell you, I am not an easy client. With my boo boos slowing me down already and just always running late in general because of my other handicaps, if I wasn't late I would be squealing in there bordering late, while all the good clients sat calmly, and clearly early, waiting patiently for their appointments. I've never seen anyone treated rudely. There may be times that I came in cranky, but it never lasts. It is just the epitome of the way Stephen Bruce runs that place and it just rubs off on everyone. They are empathetic if your pain without being condescending. They are serious in their work without being bored insensitive jerks (ok I too have had some bad past experiences), and if I ask one of the newer or younger therapists a question and he or she is unsure of the answer they immediately go seek Stephen out to be able to come back with the current information. It blows me away, especially in my medical world if I get the standard "I don't know," and then leaves you still in question. Here you get, "I'll go find out,". I could go on and on, and I will probably, when I finish my therapy for my right total knee replacement. So I will just close with this...this place is WORTH the drive, the time, and the effort. You will Never leave this facility feeling worse than when you came in and I PROMISE you, this id not a physical therapy assignment you have to drag yourself to. It's the highlight of my week. It lifts you physically, mentally, and a bit spiritually as well. I'm already feeling sad that I only have 3 more sessions before I get to "Ring the Bell!" Yoh want to know what that means--go find out for yourself! (Please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors, I never go back and reread my posts.)
