Many Starbucks locations are understaffed, especially during rush hours. To my great surprise, this one was a well-oiled machine. Got my order quickly, accurately, and I was on my way. This was despite a gruesome line (I went inside to order) and I used no app. There were lots of people, busy, working together, and this is how it should work for the customers. They do a great job making sure the dine-in space is spotless and organized. I come here often because it's on my way to work or home in the afternoon. They are extremely slow and as of late the quality of customer service has been horrible. I typically do a mobile order and pick up in the drive thru. When I tell them it's a mobile or they know exactly what it is and move me along but I get to the window and the person at the window isn't paying attention and attempts to have me pay for someone else's order and when I say it's a mobile order I am greeted with rudeness. This morning it was rudeness and attitude. I called the person out on it and more attitude came at me. Thinking a new path to work with a different beverage option is in my future. ***Update on little miss rude*** So I decide to stop here again this morning. I get to the window and am greeted by a manager in full Karen mode herself. It appears that little rude has complained and told the manager I swore at her. Instead of asking what took place the manager accused me, failed to even consider my response and denial. She went moved to full reprimand and told me they do not tolerate it and if I was going to do this I couldn't come back. This whole time cars are lined up behind and I have still not received the order I paid for. Returning will not be an issue since I will NEVER go back! Will never give them another penny of my money. Just stood waiting patiently for over ten minutes to purchase two bags of dark roast beans. One employee was dealing with two women who couldn't make up their minds about a bagel & cream cheese. Earth shattering decision. A barista was making one of the indecisive customers a drink. Thank God she almost, kinda, sorta knew what she wanted. Meanwhile the bagel drama continued with no end in sight. The third employee was grinding beans, wiping counters all the while not even motivated to ask if she could ring up my purchase. Dumb & Dumber finally decided to purchase the bagel with the cream cheese at the extra cost. All the while I'm waiting to pay & go along my way. The first employee now had to explain to the two legging wearing (but shouldn't have been) customers the bagel comes in a sealed wrapper and she'd have to open it to toast it, their latest request. I was exasperated, but still waiting. Finally Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dumb peeled a few bucks of their wadded up cash and moved (waddled) to the end of the counter (still cackling). It's my turn to give them my money! Nope, barista girl was delivering the 4,598 calorie drink to the one who needed it least. Grinder Girl busied herself with meaningless wiping and drippy nose care, the bagel toasting lady was dazed & confused, still doing bagel prep. Clearly the combined customer service acumen of these three Starbuckers didn't amount to a teaspoon of milk foam. I put the two bags on the table and walked out, never to return to this, or any other Starbucked Up store. I went to Caribou down the street, purchased four pounds of French Roast beans. I understand that having enough staff is a big issue right now so I understand when businesses have shorter hours because of a lack of staff. What I don't understand is if you'll be closing by 2:15 pm (when I stopped) instead of the 8:00pm close that is posted, why wouldn't you put a sign on the drive through notifying people that you're closed? I wasted 5 minutes waiting at the ordering point thinking that they were busy, and drove around to the window, and called. Nothing. Their voice mail doesn't indicate their new hours, nor is there a sign posted anywhere. C'mon, put a sign up. read more

It's great if you need to study or work and be left alone. Coffee and other items are what you come to expect from Starbucks--good stuff all the time. Staff don't really talk to customers, and sometimes I get the feeling I am bothering them, especially from the Store Manager. She's one of the most impersonal workers there. I worked for Starbucks for 4 years ago, at a great store in NJ. Though we were very busy, high volume store, it always felt like a small town pub or coffee house. Everyone knew each other and by name. Knew you and your family, or so it felt, Ron mattered when you came in. And the cane in, repeatedly; they were loyal customers (and so was I when I stopped working there). That's a Miracle In busy NJ. In contrast, I've been coming to this Store (on Roberts) for couple of years now. When I have to. It's closer to where I leave. They don't know who I am, my order, an I know I have not had a discern conversation with them. So regularly drive another 15 minutes for a store that I enjoying being at and working from (on Grand in St Paul), the take time to know you and it seems to them that you matter. Makes my day a littler better and for them too (I have spoken to the major various times, that what he aims for. Not Just Business). I agree with him. So if you're in a hurry and/or want to be left alone and enjoy good coffee then this is the place. Trust me, they leave you alone. they won't drag on any "boring" conversations. read more

This is my new Starbucks Drive Thru since moving downtown and I go pretty much every day for a break in my work day to grab a tea or coffee with my pooch, Teddi. Super friendly staff and not that fake friendly, but rather a real nice people friendly, and they have a private stash of dog treats!!!! Much different from my last Starbucks where I once asked and was told..."Lots of people come through the drive thru with dogs, we can not give every dog a treat."...Hmmm...Well, GUESS WHAT??? Starbucks is Starbucks....above average coffee and drinks with a way above average loyalty program. I walked in here for the first time after a few times using the drive-thru. I have to say, the one thing besides ambience that distinguishes on Starbuck from another are its people. With the loyalty program, all the drink choices and now food items and ambiance, if the people aren't right than it doesn't matter. This is one of the most if not the friendliest Starbuck I've been in. The person that helped me whose name I can't remember was awesome, a younger college dude. Ordered on the app ahead of time like I always do. Ordered at 3:36pm, the drive thru was a little backed up so we went in. I ordered 3 drinks, 2 frappuccinos and 1 venti pumpkin spice latte with NO whip. When we got there about 7 minutes later nothing was ready, a couple minutes later one frappuccino was ready... then the other frappuccino a couple minutes after. Then we waited for the latte... and waited... over 5 minutes later they say, sorry we forgot to make the other one. Another 5 minutes pass and they make the latte wrong by putting whip on it. It took 22 minutes from the time I ordered to the time I walked out! I drive all the way to this location from Inver Grove Heights, I might just start drinking Caribou which it eight down the street from me. Get you stuff together Starbucks! read more

This is a rare starbucks in St. Paul. Stopped on our way to movie. It is a bit complex to get to - a strange location and when leaving you need to drive a half mile to turn around to get in the other way. Be careful in drive through as cars coming from every which way. read more

Typically I wouldn't leave a review for this kind of thing, especially since we are in a pandemic. I want to start by saying that everyone was very friendly and no one meant any harm. Unfortunately, I am lactose intolerant. I am also the type of person that basically never gets sick. Today, I hadn't eaten anything and I went to this Starbucks for a coffee and a muffin. I felt fine all morning. I split the muffin with my grandfather and I ordered a white chocolate mocha with almond milk. The drink didn't exactly taste right, but at the time I decided that it was just the almond milk foam I got on it, which I had never had anymore. I found out the hard way about two hours later that it wasn't the foam, it was the milk. It was regular dairy milk. I would have loved the experience at this Starbucks, but the lack of attention to detail has really wreaked havoc on my digestive system and will continue to do so for a few days. read more

As someone with a horrible Starbucks habit, I have been to my fair share of Starbucks. This location is my all time favorite in the 7 county metro. They always make my drink right, they never run out of cold brew and most importantly their Drive Thru line is quick! This Starbucks is the only one along our regular errands route, which is really unfortunate. It is a huge pain to get to due to its terrible location. It is tiny and always dirty. The drive thru has room for only a handful of cars, all of which block the parking lot and entrance (hence my first point). The worst part though is that the customer service vacillates between being just so-so and actually bordering on rude. One thing I like about Starbucks is the consistency in the quality of food and drink, and the friendliness of their employees. I have been to Starbucks (Starbuckses? what is the plural?) a lot, both here and in Seattle, and rarely experience service that is anything below welcoming and friendly, or when the coffee is incorrect or sub-par. At this location though, it seems to be the norm. Not a good thing for an organization that clearly strives for a welcoming, consistent customer experience! I will never go here again. I used to go here often, but about a year ago this young male barista bought my coffee several times. I didn't ask him to and I didn't encourage him (not single, busy working mom just trying to stay awake and support her family). After that there have been a couple of weird instances with this barista (not giving back my debit card and closed mg the drive thru window for 7 minutes). Well today I went there and he misheard my simple order. He refunded me the difference-of course I still paid for it, not an entitled Karen here. I later found a glob of soap on the breakfast sandwich I ordered for my 4 year old. Never again. Take your entitled, bratty masculinity and shove it. I am always courteous, tip no matter what when I have cash and never ask for special, complicated or even modified orders. And don't f with my food (or my child's). This Starbucks is near my home, so I come here almost every day. The coffee is always good. I usually get brewed coffee, but sometimes I'll get an espresso drink. They never disappoint. What I really love about the place is staff. In all the years I've been coming here, I have found the people who work here to be very warm and friendly. They usually address me by name, and when I leave, one of them often calls out a personal "good-bye" to me. read more
