Five stars for the drinks--when made by the right hands--but zero stars for the circus masquerading as a business behind the counter. If this place were a sinking ship, it would be the teenage boy employees gleefully drilling holes in the hull while handing out free drinks to anything with a pulse. It's astounding how fast profit leaks when you staff your front lines with hormone-fueled high schoolers more focused on locker room gossip than actual customer service. I've witnessed these guys form huddles tighter than NFL scrimmages, exchanging crude banter while actual paying customers are left in a customer service wasteland. And then there's that one guy--you know the one--whose aroma could be bottled and sold as "Essence of Chemical Spill." He couldn't make a decent drink if the espresso machine begged him to stop. Every cup he touches tastes like regret. Now, credit where it's due: the women on staff are the establishment's saving grace. Professional, attentive, and somehow managing to craft drinks with both precision and care despite the frat house atmosphere around them. My wife and myself have been going to Dunn Brothers pretty much since it's opened. We love the coffee and don't buy anything else. We love the offers for extra gift cards. Have purchased them for many years. The last time was about a month ago. Using them on 5/7 we got two bags of coffee, used our gift card along with the bonus cards. With so many things going on we left our gift card on the counter. We didn't realize this until 2 weeks later. When we got into the store we were so relieved to find that the manager had realized we left it and had saved it for us. The amount was $164. We couldn't believe it when she said that she had it. There are good people in this world and she is certainly one of them. We will continue to go this location as we live one mile away and enjoy our coffee so much each day we brew it. We needed to waste a little time before an appointment so I called ahead to see if they allowed indoor seating. They do and we visited. The tables are spread out with half removed so we could be socially distanced. Everyone not drinking coffee was masked. Coffee was good. Service was friendly and inviting. I liked it when I heard one of the servers call a patron by his first name when he refilled his coffee (clearly a regular). Felt good to do something 'normal'. read more

Props to the people who work here. They really are MN nice--it does exist folks & not in that passive aggressive way. This was the absolute worst experience for a Sunday morning. The food and coffee is wildly overpriced. The egg sandwiches are made to order (literally why) and whoever is making them needs to go to jail. My sausage egg biscuit came with a burnt, rubbery disc of egg-like matter four times the size of the rest of the sandwich. Disgusting. My "matcha" latte was the color of a swamp and tasted like it was half coffee. It made me physically ill and I couldn't stomach more than two sips. The bathroom door took Herculean strength to open, and the soap dispenser spit out a baby's drool's worth of foam. Get your shit together. read more

We woke up this morning and stumbled down to the breakfast area of our home for two days. The aroma of burnt coffee wafting through the air was borderline suffocating. We did the unthinkable... walked away from coffee. I grabbed my phone and began the frantic search for the liquid that keeps us going. 2 other chain shops popped up, but they were already dead to us. We powered on, weak, but determined. DB was on the radar. 1 check in coupon later, we were sipping our Honey Spiced Nirvana and Pumpkin Pie Latte. They were both very good - the flavor was present without being overpowering and not too sweet. The baristas were friendly and fast. I read the comments and have to say, wow. Depth of character is certainly not a measure of all yelpers. Dunn Bros does a fine job of making coffees and treats to eat. They are a great Eagan neighbor; providing coffee at local events, donating to charities, etc. I asked the owner to allow charged tips for his staff and he was initially reluctant, but others asked and he finally did it. This is a place that is dog friendly, too. Not inside, but water bowls are at the door fair weather. I asked for a pour over once and they said they'd french press instead?, I said fine and they struggled to do it. Baristas change... If you go and expect good coffee and a nice place to hang; you'll like it. My only criticism of Dunn Bros is actually using too much coffee to water and I like a bit of water added via ice. read more

I clicked 4 stars because when I order a cup of Joe here, it tastes like I think DB is supposed to taste. Caveat: I don't really care for the Dunn. I come here because - well, it's EAGAN, Suburbaville and therefore the plethora of independently-owned shops is pretty much nil. So, I actually like this coffee shop. Reasons are the service seems to be decent, even Good, often. They are quick on their feet behind the counter, responsive, they smile. Good energy. Last weekend I went into Starbucks with my book and the two comfy chairs were taken. So I moved on...remembered that although DB is a bit further drive, they have a really nice little area with upholstered chairs - necessary for reading at a coffee shop. I actually love the layout of this place. Books lined up along the large window, bonus. The gal behind the counter was super cute - when I commented about the glorious aroma of the freshly-baked cinnamon rolls, her face LIT UP. However, what was with the music? Borderline loud and clearly (ok, I'm just guessing here, but it seemed to me) chosen by the young staff member. Just plain out of line. Please, owner/manager, make some guidelines for what they play when the cat's away. read more

This Dunn Brothers is a GEM! The franchise owner has been extremely creative in developing a place that has its own unique character. The staff are what makes the place so successful. We have all seen long lines at coffee shops and you will see them at this Dunn Brothers too. But it is magical at how the staff can quickly serve those in line while simultaneously working on the drive-thru line. Couple the service with really good food and you have the perfect place to have coffee and food while you read, meet several friends or just get something to take with you. When it is not winter, there is a wonderful patio and pergola, surrounded by exquisite annuals. I ride a bike and stop at lots of coffee shops. I've just walked in the house and had to write this review after sitting for 10 minutes in Dunn brothers' drive thru while being COMPLETELY IGNORED. I only ordered one drink but no one even opened the window to take my money. For 10 minutes. I waved when I saw the shadow of a few employees at the tinted window. I beeped my horn. I tapped the window. Still ignored. After I decided to drive away I parked and took a peek inside to find that they weren't even busy inside! I love this place. They make great coffee and fresh foods! The service for coffee is very fast, however the service for food is pretty slow. Personally, I don't mind that because they're always so friendly here. It gets pretty busy here as well so it makes sense that the food doesn't come very fast. I think customer service above anything else, is the most important and this particular location is fantastic at it. They are even so friendly with my daughter. Once I had encountered a not so nice lady at the register there, kept cutting me off saying the total when I wasn't done order and some other small things; just seemed to be having a really bad day. However, the guy that works there came up to me with our food and apologized for her behavior. Update...fixed the dog treat issue... gets another star. Not a huge fan of db offerings but only thing close and the coffee does the job. recommendation to owner... make the outside seating area more fun...some trees (even if fake) some umbrella lighting etc...if it was a little more inviting would be there all the time in the evening. read more
