We sat at the one table on the front porch. The traffic was a bit loud because it is 'Main Street' after all. Suggest maybe a side patio eventually. We ate our lunches then wanted to stroll the town a bit before coffee. We were ready to pay and come back but the woman helping us told us to go ahead and walk and just come back when we're ready. WHAT? I know business owners probably need to be cautious and suspicious, but she was genuine and trusted us to return, which we of course did, with a third person, my husband who joined us. We then ordered two coffees & and an iced coffee. Only after our drinks were served did we realize we had returned and ordered our coffees at 1:55, and they close at 2PM. They didn't let on in the least that we were keeping them. No hairy eyeball, no tapping foot. This place was wonderful. If you want hometown, friendly service and a world-class sandwich & coffee, check it out.

The atmosphere is amazing both inside and outside. Inside has a beautiful rustic-chic feel, plus a cute little market at the front. Outside is just as special, with plenty of space to hang out, live music, fire pits, and such a fun, relaxed atmosphere. You can order drinks outside, and they also offer a smaller, convenient outdoor food menu. The food in the restaurant is outstanding. The dine-in menu might seem somewhat limited at first, but I've genuinely never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. The chicken I ordered was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. The presentation of everything is beautiful. They also have gluten-free options, which I really appreciate. I haven't tried the outdoor food menu yet, but I definitely hope to! The service has also consistently been great. The staff are always so warm and welcoming and really add to the experience. Whether you're looking for a cozy winter outing, a beautiful summer afternoon outside, or especially a festive fall day with cider, good food, live music, and fire pits, Ironbound is such a great spot.

At first, I was a bit horrified when I saw them pumping two shots of syrup into it as I never put sugar in my drinks, but it turned out perfectly. The drink was only slightly sweet with a really pleasant, subtle lavender flavor. It did cost $7, but overall it was a very tasty drink that I thoroughly enjoyed. They have a lot of unique-looking specialty drinks on the menu, so I definitely look forward to going back and trying more. The shop itself is located in a really cute town. It was raining and we were running late, so we didn't get a chance to walk around, but I can't wait to return when the weather is nicer to explore the area and grab another coffee.

In fact, don't forget to tuck your vehicles mirror in when you park. Scout's is quaint and cozy, so be ready to possibly wait in line to place your coffee order. Not only do they offer a wide range of coffee beverages, but they have teas, and a great selection of breakfast bites. I had planned on ordering a croissant, but when I got to the counter to order, they were all out at the time. It seemed that they were cooking more in the downstairs area, but I was warned it could be a while. I went with the chicken salad sandwich instead. I know, that was a quick left turn, but the chicken salad sounded good. My husband got a basic coffee and the oatmeal. You don't get your order after paying. They prepare orders as they come in and it seemed that they were behind. It was very busy when we stopped in. We found a place to sit and then a little while later we were alerted that our order was ready. I loved the neighborhood feel of Scout's. I loved that it was a welcoming place of all people. It was warm, homey, and locally owned. That is the type of place that we love to support. We liked everything we ordered. The only comment I would make is that the chicken salad along with the bread they served it on was a VERY dry combination. It needed some moisture or some softness. It was difficult to swallow at times because my throat was so incredibly dry. If I happen to be in town again, and I can stop in, I would just order something else. It was not bad, it just has room for improvement. Overall, we loved our time spent at Scout's. And we were happy to stop in and support.

Upon entry the barista remembered my friend and she was so kind with helping me make a latte and pastry selection! We both ordered the ginger molasses latte and I ordered the savory whirligig to go (I can't wait to try that later on). As we waited, I perused the store and noticed they had merchandise that included Scout coffee beans made in house, greeting cards, Christmas ornaments and decor, sweatshirts and mugs. They had a pretty large menu lots of seating and my friend shared they have poetry and evening events. The ladies working were super friendly and my latte was perfect!

The Taylor ham was stacked both above and below the eggs, with creamy melted cheese, salt, pepper, and ketchup on a fresh Kaiser roll. It was loaded and absolutely delicious. I also tried the Italian hero without the bread, made into a chopped salad piled high with all the meats, cheese, and toppings. It had all the flavor of a great Italian hoagie without missing the roll. The real bonus was the blueberry cobbler muffin. I saw on Facebook that they had just come out of the oven, and about an hour later I was heading to Cafe 57. It was fresh, moist, packed with blueberries, and every bit as good as it looked. Great food, generous portions, and the kind of quality and freshness you just don't get from the big chains. Highly recommended!

The exception is Grounded for Life, which offers delicious breakfast and lunch options that are thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and satisfying. Their extensive, all vegan menu offers breakfast options such as bagel sandwiches, burritos, toasts, and more, and even their coffee is surprisingly good! I have also enjoyed their wraps, bowls, and sandwiches. And they even have burgers and hot dogs, too. GfL is my new spot for takeout (order ahead online to save time!) before heading to the airport. The chunky chicken wrap saved me when my flight back to the West coast (already a long journey) was delayed by several hours and I was starving. The cafe also has a number of yummy desserts displayed in the case that are great to-go. GfL also offers a "Meal Prep" option where you can order food on a weekly or monthly basis. Service is friendly and efficient, but they are sometimes understaffed. Try to be patient and nice, and your tasty food will be out soon enough. The cafe itself is pretty small with just a few tables indoors. The outdoor patio is more expansive, and I recommend enjoying your food and drinks outside if the weather is decent.
