Food and service are outstanding. The selection is fantastic as well. My only reason for giving 4…read morestars rather than 5 is because of the pricing. Basil Bandwagon is overpriced for their deli and many of the items they carry. At the same time it is very good quality stuff, just pricing is my only "complaint" so to say. I realize this is a very wealthy area, and Basil Bandwagon does put out some coupons here and there which is appreciated. It is certainly more of A $$$ store than $$ in which I think they would still be profitable, yet a bit more fair. In any circumstance if you're looking for good quality, very healthy stuff it is a great spot to try out. Also the portions on most things at the deli counter are very nice with their sandwiches. Staff is also very helpful & knowledgeable.

On my most recent visit to my hometown of Flemington, I took a trip to Basil Bandwagon to grab…read moresomething healthy (and vegan) for our long flight home back to the West coast. I learned that Basil Bandwagon has been open for 25 years. The year they opened, I was eating cold Pop Tarts while running to catch the school bus at 6:55am. In those days, fat-free was all the rage and considered "healthy" -- never mind all the refined carbs, loads of sugar, and preservatives. These days, I'm a strict vegetarian who is mostly vegan. I cook a lot and eat fresh produce daily. I appreciate that BB offers a healthy alternative to basically all the crap fast food otherwise available in the area. We ordered a wrap from the cafe and decided to eat it there. The seating was a counter with a few bar stools but it was clean if not spacious. My husband and I shared the "Freebird" wrap -- tofu-based mock chicken, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and vegan mayo. It came with potato chips. Wow, this was so good! Clean tasting, hearty, and delicious. I was so impressed with it that we grabbed a prepackaged wrap from the cold case to take on the plane with us. We also picked up a few other vegan sandwiches which were okay tasting but overall too dense and heavy. Next time, I'll stick with the housemade items. I do find it a little annoying that BB doesn't seem to carry as many vegan items as they do things that are "paleo" and gluten-free. I also find that some of their food items are so outrageously overpriced that you'd be better off hunting around at the local grocery stores instead of purchasing them here. The next time I'm in town, I'll be there to order another yummy item from the cafe. Thanks Basil Bandwagon for catering to us "healthy" folks looking for something tasty and satisfying to fill our bellies.

Half hour later, you say I wonder if we've got some left. Then you're hooked. The pudding was great too. That was more like a desert than a meal but it could serve as both. Finally the bar. I was so in love with the cinnamon peanut butter balls that I forgot it until the next day. That's when I munched on that. Freaking awesome. Plus, delivery was quick, friendly and the price was great. In the end, you can order food without spiking your blood sugar with this place. So much better than pizza.

They carry an incredible selection of high-quality, organic foods and whole-food supplements that have made such a meaningful difference in my health over the years. The food is delicious, the ingredients are incredibly clean, and I always feel confident in the products I'm purchasing for myself and my family. What really sets Nature's Harvest apart, though, is the staff. They are extremely knowledgeable, kind, honest, and always willing to take the time to answer questions and help me find exactly what I'm looking for. I trust their recommendations, which is something that is very important to me when it comes to health and wellness. I travel over an hour just to shop here multiple times a month--that alone should say how much I love and trust this store! And when I can't make the trip, they make it incredibly easy by shipping everything to me, often the very same day I call. It is rare to find a business with this level of knowledge, integrity, quality, and genuinely caring customer service. After 9 years, I continue to be incredibly grateful to have found Nature's Harvest and wouldn't go anywhere else. I recommend them wholeheartedly. I've been coming to (and loving) Basil Bandwagon for about 20 years since childhood, and it's still…read moreone of my favorite local businesses! I have celiac disease, and back when gluten-free food was nowhere near as well-known or widely accommodated as it is today, Basil Bandwagon was one of the only places my family could reliably find food that met my dietary needs. Now, as a health-conscious adult, I still shop here regularly. Not just because of the gluten-free selection, but because of the quality of the food, locally sourced products, healthy options, and all of the unique and niche things you don't find at a conventional grocery store. I've shopped frequently at both the Clinton and Flemington locations over the years and have consistently had great experiences at both. There are tons of options for gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and plant-based diets, along with a great selection of snacks, specialty products, supplements, fresh foods, and local goods. Within the last couple of years, I also started ordering more frequently from the café, and I can't believe it took me so long! I'm a huge fan of their wraps. They have gluten-free tortillas and bread. They somehow make wraps with relatively simple ingredients taste unbelievably fresh, flavorful, and savory. I've ordered the same wraps at both Clinton and Flemington and they taste practically identical, which says a lot about how consistent the café is between locations. My personal favorite is the Free Bird on a gluten-free tortilla. It's vegan and gluten-free with tofu salad and a savory mustard, and it blew my expectations away. I also love the sauces and dressings they use in the café. I discovered many (if not all) of them are made in-house and are even available bottled to take home. The house-made vegan honey mustard is especially delicious and worth trying. For drinks at the café, I'm a big fan of the Strawberry Fields protein smoothie and the So Kal juice. I've also done their two-day juice cleanse, which includes 12 fresh juices that you can order ahead and pick up. Whether you have specific dietary restrictions, eat vegan or plant-based, prioritize locally sourced and health-conscious foods, or just like discovering interesting products you won't find everywhere else, it's such a fantastic local resource. And with convenient location (right near downtown Clinton) and convenient hours (8 AM to 8 PM every day), it's an easy place to keep coming back to!
