This Starbucks was one of the best I've been to! The music was audible but not too loud (unlike at many other Starbucks), and they had several different seating areas. I was happy to see that this Starbucks managed to keep a comfy looking couch and some chairs! Staff members were friendly, smiley, and quick - and my iced chai (soy, light ice) was delicious :-) I'm not over on the west side all that often (I went out there to hike - the hike was great too!) but next time I am over there I will be sure to stop by this Starbucks again. Service: There were multiple people available but ended up standing in line for a few minutes and when someone finally helped out and asked what I wanted, I was cut off by another employee asking her something. Just waited at the counter for over five min without even a greeting or acknowledgement. They weren't even busy. Once the girl came over she was very rude no greeting just asked what I wanted. So I visited this Starbucks around 10:45 am on a Tuesday morning! I had taken orders from a few coworkers. I first ordered 2 graham frappe and the lady taking my order says they're out of that! Great service! I had ordered 2 white chocolate mochas on the Starbucks mobile app and when I went into the shop they were packed! The orders were backed up (keep in mind this is a Monday morning) and I had to leave so I wouldn't be late to school. The next morning I had called them to see if I could pick up my coffees that I had ordered the day before and low and behold it was possible! I was able to enjoy my coffee and not waste any money! With a long day behind us, my husband and I were in some serious need of caffeine. We had just had a great day with our kids and had many more errands to run. It was 8:30 at night and while we could have went through a fast food drive thru or a gas station for a cup of coffee, the first and only place that came to mind was Starbucks. Personally, I frequent Starbucks (which is a lot), not just for great tasting lattes and delicious foods/snacks, but for the great, personal experience I ALWAYS receive. Not this time though. As we approached the back door of this particular Starbucks, the Barista on duty was just about to lock it, but waited until we entered. There was no line and we proceeded straight to the register. It was a Thursday night and so the place was not that busy. With that in mind, I decided it would be a good time to load all my GCs that I received for Christmas and my birthday on to my Gold Card. After waiting for about 5 minutes, with no other customers in line, and not a "hello," "I'll be right with you," "One second..."said to us, I turned to my husband and said outloud, "Is someone going to help us?" There was another Barista behind the espresso machine. She must of heard me, which was my every intent, as she turned to the other gal who had locked the back door and was now sweeping, and said, "Can you help them?" in a very negative tone. With the holiday spirit still in the air, and the fact that we were in a Starbucks, I was very shocked to see an employee of Starbucks behaving that way. Ok, so they were near closing time, 20 minutes until closing time,and maybe we were interupting her clean up time. Maybe she was upset because she wanted to leave early and now that there were "near closing" customers, she wouldn't be able to get out a little early. Whatever her reason was for delivering such bad service was unacceptable. She asked for my drink order as the other gal was processing my GC transactions. I'm pretty sure I said it loud and clear but as I watched her proceed to make the drink wrong by adding more pumps of syrup then I requested, I stopped her immediately and corrected her. Of course, her face turned further south. The gal who assisted us at the register was fine, she is the positive reason for the star given. The other girl however, receives a ZERO star rating. When she was done making our drinks, she placed it on the pick up counter and turned away. Of course, what was I thinking when I thought she'd say, "Thank you .. have a great night... First I want to say that the customer service from the early AM staff at this location is phenomenal: they know your name, your regular order, and are fast and efficient at helping customers. I have been a 5-6 day a week customer here for the last two and half years. I would estimate that I have spend about $20+ a week here, that adds up over time...$1500 to $2000 at least. The customer service I received today (1:20pm) by the afternoon staff was lackluster to say the least. This is why I'm giving it a poor review - AM staff you get 5 stars, PM staff not so much. There was only one other customer in line ahead of me who was purchasing gift cards. There are two registers at this location. I stood, patiently for more than five minutes trying to get the attention of the 4 (FOUR) other staff members milling about behind the counter. I kept trying to make eye contact with them and was ignored. No one opened up the second register to take my order. Finally, one staff member asked me what I would like to order, but STILL no one got on the second register so I could pay for my coffee. The staff member on the first register was still helping the woman with the gift cards. My drink was on the bar, and STILL no one would get on the second register so I could pay, get my drink and leave. The staff member at the first register said that I could have my drink for free...I didn't want a free drink...I just wanted to pay and go. FINALLY, one of the four other staff members jumped on the second register so I could pay for my coffee. Sorry, but this is an management/supervisory failure. This is how businesses lose loyal, repeat customers...poor customer service. I've never had my drink ready at the bar and I'm still waiting to pay...ridiculous. The manager for this location needs to know, or if they are part of the problem they also need to know, and fix things including themselves. I really hope the manager/supervisor was not one of the individuals who could not acknowledge me as a customer today. Regardless, I will not be a regular patron of this location again for quite some time, and I will definitely NOT go anytime after 10 am. I suggest you do the same. I love this location! I stop here at least twice a week... I put in my phone order when I am about 3 minutes away, &my drink is always there right when I walk in. Also, I tend to get iced macchiatos... most locations do not automatically stir them anymore, instead they only do it upon request. Sometimes that's annoying cause I'll forget to tell them I want it stirred. But not in Waianae! They always stir my macchiatos, (thank you!) All the baristas are friendly and personable! Esp Kainan &Cortney! They'll address you by name when you come in &when you leave. You really do feel welcomed here, unlike some locations. read more

This Starbucks makes it pretty difficult to purchase any supplies for the Varismo coffee machine. I mean it's a Starbuck owned an produced item. Seems to me they should provide the supplies for it. they do have some of the pods but the MOST popular they do not carry. The Starbucks in Waimanalo has the idea and will be buying from them. read more
