Located a few minutes before the Waianae mall, this cafe overlooks the beach and is a quaint breakfast spot. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful view, however, there were numerous flies and cats hanging around the seating area. Tip: Don't sit at the outdoor table near the door as you will be constantly hearing the bell ring each time someone uses the door. Food was pretty good. The Kim chee fried rice was tasty but the spice level was pretty mild. Service was fine. No major issues though we did feel a bit rushed. Overall, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but it's fine if I was in the area. Much rather go to Liliha bakery for the ambiance and service.
It was our "Adventure Day". We decided to drove from town to try this place. OMG, haven't been to that side of the island in years. SO worth the drive. This is a quaint "country" establishment, very homey. Lots of parking, beautiful view of the Waianae shoreline, absolutely beautiful. Friendly wait staff who are so helpful with food recommendations. And the food, OMG, such large portions and Ono too!!! Highly recommended. Make it a day adventure, visit the Westside and support their local businesses.
Well well well. When you are at a resort and tired of clean, immaculate and air conditioned restaurant, you venture out to to where locals and likely minded tourist hang out together. Feel bad for the restaurant for all the homeless camps across the street destroying local businesses and reputations. As we walked in, one appears to be homeless but wore clean shirt so decided to ignore him till... he got up and started to spit on his food. What the heck.... and started to pace himself back and forth. I somehow ended up ordering the same dish. Overall, food was average, price was ok ansld ambience? Not bad for being local. Am I coming back? Questionable. Service was good. Friendly people. Plenty of parking and you can seat inside or outside.
Great place for a delicious breakfast! Delicious comfort food-Homemade corn beef hash with fried rice, loco moco, waffles, pancakes, and French toast! Huge portions and staff are all efficient and friendly! That's what like! A welcoming environment, nice staff and delicious food! I will definitely be back!
This place was so amazing I have been craving it after the last time!!! So we had to go back!!! Your food if is worth the wait it takes, as they make it to order!!! Love the aloha attitude and home feel ambience is so welcoming. I will keep coming back as it is just that good!!! If you are on the west shore GO!!! And even if you are not GO!!! So worth the drive.

Walk Through the Country 1000/10 Banana foster French toast had the perfect amount of syrup, taste and the texture was good. Lilikoi buttermilk pancakes were my absolutely favorite! These alone were delicious, they didn't need syrup! They were fluffy and all around goodness. Strawberry waffles had a funnel cake texture/taste. They were crunchy! I loved that! Corned beef hash local moke-o was fresh and not from a can. The shredded corn beef was perfectly mixed into the fried rice. Adobo eggs Benedict were out of this world. The adobo alone was cooked to perfection! I highly recommend Countryside Cafe! We all enjoyed ourselves. There's a good amount of tables inside/outside. Service was good! Everyone was friendly and nice. Do not expect to be in out and quickly though. They have a sign posted inside that says, "we are not a fast food restaurant, every order is made fresh daily, please be patient" If you're on a time restriction, I'd suggest giving yourself roughly 2hrs. We went around 10:45, it wasn't extremely busy, just large groups and they make sure everyone at the table has their plates at the same time.
Ordered the garlic shrimp omlette with fried rice. Nice quaint atmosphere and clean inside. The garlic shrimp omlette is tasty and really garlicky.
Went here with friends after watching YouTuber Hawaiian Traveler video. He was spot on! Food was generous in portion. Service friendly. Ambience casual. Indoor or outdoor seating available. Adobo eggs benedict tasty! Had it with potatoes. Flavorful like kalua pig with adobo flavor. Bananas foster french toast. 4 pieces and sweet! Teriyaki (hamburger), but was actually teri beef sandwich. Lots of meet and crispy on buttered brioche bun. Onion rings crunchy! Fair is fair come check this place out and support the local resteraunt.
It's not often I drive to Waianae but it is a very scenic drive there on clear days. We were fortunate it was a clear day when we journeyed there to finally try Countryside Cafe. When we arrived, the place was pretty busy but we were able to be seated right away. They have a private parking lot and offer indoor or outdoor seating options. Due to how the restaurant is situated, you can't really see the ocean while dining but it's located across the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean. We opted to sit inside as it was cooler with the AC. Menus came first and the staff member asked if we wanted anything aside from water to drink. We ordered coffee and it took a few minutes but we got a hot cup of coffee. The coffee was watered down which was a huge disappointment. When our server finally came to take our order, we ordered the Countryside Steak and Walk through the Country. I had my Countryside Steak with potatoes and eggs over easy. It took the kitchen about 20 or so minutes to get our order out. Kinda long considering all the tables had their food orders already. Despite all that, the food was quite good! It came out as ordered. Definitely worth the journey for a nice breakfast and scenic drive. Portions were just right and the country fried steak hit a craving I've had for months. After eating, we sat there for a while waiting for the check but I suppose you walk up to the register to pay. Customer service was almost nonexistent and we had to ask for a coffee refill. The larger parties around us received more attention so that was a little disappointing. It was still nice to finally cross off this bookmark on my list.
Had breakfast here on a Saturday and Sunday morning while staying in one of the cabins at Pililaau Recreation Center. Service was excellent, as was the food. Easily one of the best breakfast places in Waianae. Highly recommended.
Aight, so I tried the country fried steak, and it was good, but dang, was it too much--so dense in the stomach, you know? The biscuit was mean and different, real ono! The fried rice was just okay, no need for that. The fish and chips? Nothing special, the fish was kinda dry, but the fries were bomb! Overall, nice cozy place, and I enjoyed it. Everybody was super nice too!

Countryside Cafe in Waianae is an absolute must if you want heavy-hitting local comfort food. The gravy in their country fried steak is so incredibly good. I could honestly eat it on everything! The lilikoi buttered biscuits are delicious, beautifully toasted, and buttery. My only wish is that I could get a massive extra side of that lilikoi butter to absolutely lather all over them because the flavor is addictive! Fun fact: The waitress told me on my last visit that the owners actually live on the Big Island and they have a location in Keaau too! Love that they're spreading the aloha. Massive portions, amazing flavors, and awesome service! read more

A hole-in-the wall diner with indoor-outdoor dining with views of the ocean and a sea breeze off the highway. Plenty of parking, the Cafe is the bottom portion of the building that also houses Lanterns Tavern upstairs, which has a big sign (Countryside Cafe does not have signage). So, if you see Lanterns Tavern, you are in the right place. During my visit, outdoors was full, but inside was basic but quaint and gave off those country vibes one doesn't get that often. The menu has a full range, from eggs, pancakes, loco moco to poke, pork chops and seemingly everything in between. I went the breakfast route and the food was really good - at least that Kalua benedict. It consisted of this perfectly salty Kalua pork, spinach, tomato and perfectly poached eggs on an English muffin, topped with a mild hollandaise. And it was reasonably priced for Hawaii (read less than $20), if I recollect, it was closer to that $15 price point. It came with a heaping side of potatoes (or rice). Service was kind and quick. The bathroom while clean was very basic, just a heads up for those that look for a bit more bougie of bathrooms. Overall, a perfect brunch to fill your belly for a day of adventuring. read more

We went on a Friday morning and got there around 7:20am. It seemed like we were the first customers to be seated. We noticed a couple people doing pick up orders. The two girls who helped serve us were very nice and checked in with us a few times. My husband and I ordered the country fried steak and the macadamian nut banana pancakes. The food tasted good but wasn't a wow factor. My favorite part was probably the lilikoi biscuits and the banana macadamian nut pankcakes were good too. Parking is available in front with a handful of spaces. I could see it being difficult to find parking if it's a busy morning for them. read more

Ahmazing! Came here after spending some time in Makaha with some friends. We were starving and my friend who's a local recommended this place. Be aware that this place closes pretty early at 2pm and can get pretty busy. When we came in they were about a 1/2 hour from closing but more than happy to be of help to answer and questions and recommend items. I had their Kalbi with noodles and salad. Highly recommended. Also got to try their pancakes which was also really good and decent in size. Another item I recommend is the meat lovers scramble. I was super surprised that everything we tried was really good and I would definitely drive all the way out to eat here again. read more
Paradise food in paradise! If you are a tourist, the spot is only about 15 minutes away from ko olina and WORTH THE DRIVE! The food is excellent from the coffee to the adobo fried rice. Even the bacon is not your ordinary bacon. Don't take my word for it - just GO!!! read more

Well give it 3 stars today. They had outdoor/indoor seating, the seating was comfortable. you could hear the waves crashing at the beach across the street as you enjoy your breakfast brunch lunch. It was pretty crowded. Definitely a popular restaurant. The service was poor aside from one waitress who was kind enough to check on our to go plate. I didn't get her name. We waited so long for our food that my water was warm by the time my meal came. And out of our 5 cups of water on the table I drank mine and my sons, and was never offered a refill, I watched numerous people who came in after our party get served their meals first. Nonetheless the food was full of flavor. The lack of service was my biggest gripe and The kitchen could be a little quicker. I have gone to the location in keaau, Hawaii island and the service there was exceptional. I was not expecting what I got today at this location. read more

Today was an interesting experience. We came here a couple years ago and it was great. Today wasn't as great. The food wasn't bad. I didn't quite liked what I got but that wasn't because the food was bad. My husband and sister did not have a problem with their meals. Their service is what got me the most. It was very slow to non existent. I had to go in and get from the hostess what I needed which was said but not the worst things that could have happened. The ambiance of course is amazing because you have the view of the beach from there!! We are going to try it again to see if we like something else on the menu more than what we ordered. Something changed.. I've come here for years and the food and service have always been great. Last time was march. Came in December 2023 and the food wasn't great and the service was just odd.. two older guys started smoking on the deck and the server said nothing.. my buddy almost got into a fight With them.. just very strange experience read more

Such a fun place to stop in and have breakfast on the way back from Pokai Bay Beach. Food was delicious- I had the Kalua Benedict and it was deeeelish! I decided to sit outside on the deck with my dog (big plus) which was a little windy but the sunshine sure made up for it. Pricing was very reasonable and the service was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place. Will be back! read more

The food is amazingggggg. It's not expensive and super casual. Diner style. Service is pretty decent for a bunch of high school kids. They were attentive. We got the waffles, a walk through the country and Kahlua Bennie with the fried rice plus a side of biscuits and gravy. All of it was 5/5 stars. read more
The food her doesn't disappoint. You MUST try that lilikoi biscuits - they're so dreamy! Warm and the perfect amount of sweet. Omelets are large and stuffed - a great amount of food for the cost. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive to our table. Picnic tables outside were shaded by a roof and you can see the beach from your chairs. Awesome beach feel. Love it here - definitely recommend! read more
