tldr; - Shave ice is better than Matsumoto's - Starbucks Coffee that's just as good as Starbucks Rec7 Cafe is my not so secret secret spot for shave ice. It's very unassuming at first glance, but really is worth a visit. Their shaved ice is always on point and tastes especially good with ice cream. (Imo it's better than Matsumoto's) Also, I was impressed that they make Starbucks drinks that legit taste like Starbucks. Their drink menu also has a lot of other options if you don't drink coffee. They also sell Sage Creamery ice cream pints and have small snacks and instant ramen if you're craving some after going to the pool. If you don't want to drive and eat, there is a lot of covered open outdoor seating. Rec7 Cafe is such a gem in the neighborhood.

    Matsumoto large 2 flavor

No Mililani HOA card to use cafe. Shave ice is not very fine shaving in quality,. Limited flavor selection 8 unusual flavors as compared to other shave ice vendors (mountain shave ice in Waikele behind Safeway) cash only , or other places in Haleiwa (Matsumoto , always busy but line moves fast , large is very large for the $ plenty of flavors and Aoki''s also I heard is good.) Overall just: mediocre , 1.5 stars. Rec center 7 charges for a cup of ice water! If you ask for extra syrup you end up with a 1/2 cup of syrup and they won't give you any more shaved ice . Better to order regular sized or large and then they will add more syrup for free. If you hit under flavored iice. Cheap small wooden spoons. Prep time varies from 5-10 minutes . Outside seating. CC accepted, reward program , buy 8 get one free. Prepared ice cream available. Ice machine good value for $. Also hi price Starbucks cafe. Avg. quality, for all top coffees ( up to $6+)/3 If I get a cravings I go for the drive. Waikele/Haleiwa. Matsumoto large 2 flavor..:

My go to for shave ice on a hot day. Heck, I go even if it's not hot so who am I kidding. I love getting the lihing mui and lilikoi flavors. The ice is very fine and not chunky, just how I like it. You can add mochi balls, ice cream, etc. They also sell Starbucks coffee and other treats so check this place out if you're in Mililani.

Rec 7 Cafe serves Starbucks beverages at slightly cheaper prices

When Mililani Town Association first announced that they were opening a cafe serving Starbucks in Mililani Rec 7 I thought they were crazy! Seriously, how many Starbucks does Mililani need? Well...apparently 4 as I'm now here at least 3 times a week. The cafe is more like a small coffee stand serving Starbucks beverages and locally made beverages. But if you're a MTA card holder, you can enjoy your coffee inside the free Internet cafe, by the pool, or by the playground while your Keiki play. Or if you come during the evening on the 2nd Friday of the month you can catch Open Mic and get deep discounts off beverages. Since Rec 7 Cafe is not a retail Starbucks cafe, you can not use any Starbucks rewards and will not receive stars. However the cafe prices are slightly cheaper than Starbucks and have their own rewards program. Jessica, the cafe manager, is super sweet, makes you feel special by greeting you by name-even if you're at the rec center for other reasons than coffee (crazy, right!), and makes strong but smooth coffee! She is also attentive and welcomes any suggestions for improving the cafe.

    Free Samples!!!.

I find this to be the best Starbucks on island. The staff is super friendly and after only a few visits remembered my buddies and I on a first name basis. The coffee has always been on point and unlike other Starbucks there are local bakery vendors that deliver fresh pastries. The R7 cafe offers Starbucks drinks for a discounted prices, a reward system, and there's Internet cafe right across the hall that's study friendly.

    Cute blackboard hand-drawn by staff!

I've seen Coffee or Tea? whenever I'm in the area but really have the hardest time finding parking at this Crossroads at Waipio complex which is probably why the limit customer parking to 30 minutes to be fair but then that leaves you little time to sit and relax as they do have some tables inside to do so. After finishing at Car Wash 808 Express I though to give it a try and was lucky enough to get a parking and knew it was meant to be as I walked in liked what I saw inside as it's nice and clean and quite spacious and had many of the snacks and treats to choose from as well. I did notice their featured drinks and the Honey & Lemon Black Tea which sounded exactly what I needed and though I'm able to adjust the sweetness and ice level as well is nice to enjoy my drink, the staff made it very fast and efficient giving me lots of time to run over to Golden Coin for some lunch as well. Love this cozy spot though the time limit does deter me from visiting here as I do like to sit and enjoy my tea sometimes as well. Thank you!

The Staff is friendly and they do crank our orders pretty fast. It's a pretty small place inside and they don't offer much sitting space, so it's definitely a grab and go situation. It seems that they used to offer food but did away with it. It seems like this is not only a spot for tours, it seemed like locals and military personnel know about this place and stop by for a cup of coffee. I like how they have an actual cafe with fun drinks and muffins and pastries, which is probably what brings in local guests. They have samples of certain coffees inside the gift shop plus a lot of fun gifts. The coffee is a bit pricy but I landed on getting the coffee cake flavor. I typically do not love flavored coffee, but the sample was so good, I hope once we grind it is is as good as while being here. Some of the other dark roasts were also really good but even more expensive. If they coffee we purchased turns out to taste good, I would purchase more next time. They told us they coffee gets replaced at least once a week and they roast it fresh. I loved how you can walk through the coffee plants and see the berries. The hubs and I had just finished dinner and were actually headed to a dessert spot in the same plaza, but when we saw their taproom, we decided to get drinks instead and I'm so glad we did! We stopped by around 8 PM on a Saturday night. Surprisingly, it wasn't overly busy and there were plenty of open tables! The bartender mentioned they had a huge rush during the day and it had calmed down for the evening, which she said is pretty uncommon for a weekend night. We ended up getting two flights: Flight 1: Lilikoi Cider, Guava Lava Cider, and their rotating seasonal flavor, Lychee Hard Seltzer. All so tropical and well-balanced! Flight 2 (Hard Seltzers): Mango & Li Hing Mui, Mojito, and Ube Blu Bae. The flight pours are super generous, you get three 5-oz pours per flight! Every single flavor hit the spot, but the Lilikoi and Lychee were total standouts. Huge shoutout to Brett, who checked us out at the end! He was super nice and gave us the breakdown on all their awesome weekly specials. We'll definitely be coming back during the week to check those out and try some of their food menu next time! Overall chill vibes, amazing local craft ciders, and stellar service. An awesome spot for a relaxed night out!

Multiple things went wrong during the visit. We ordered an iced mocha but received a hot mocha instead. We wanted a strawberry waffle, but they were out which was fine, so we ordered the blueberry. But then later when we followed up on the waffle, they stated they actually didn't have blueberry and only had banana. We had to follow up and remind them a couple of times for our orders: 1) We ordered a breakfast burrito and the worker forgot to put it in the oven to heat it up. It was sitting on the counter for a while, and we had to point it out to them. 2) They didn't start our waffle order right away, and we had to follow up for them to get started on it. They stated that the waffle was "going" but it was obvious that they only started working on it when we followed up. We went on a Sunday morning, and it was not busy at all. We were there for about 40 minutes waiting for the burrito and the waffle. I am generally a very patient person and would understand that mistakes can happen when there's multiple orders and things going on, but aside from one other customer who received her order pretty quickly, it was just us there so it was honestly super disappointing.

Let's just say this place changed A LOT over the past years. Service: 3/5 Waited about 5 minutes to get my order taken. There was a couple in front of me and the worker was chatting with them only. I was not aware of what she was doing until I realized I was waiting for a bit so I looked for myself and saw she was making a waffle cone. Would have appreciated if she told me "Be right with you!" She at least said thank you for waiting. Service used to be a bit more efficient from what I remembered in the past. While we were inside and eating our ice cream, 2 parties came in. They were waiting for about 3 minutes and I saw one of them looking around for the worker who went to the back. All we did was just shake our heads at this moment... Food: 3/5 Holy, these scoops though too. My sister and I paid $11 total for these tiny kid looking scoops. Ice cream tasted good but tastes mediocre now. I wanted a fruity flavor so I got the honeydew flavor that tasted like a melona without the stick. My sister's peanut butter and strawberry one was pretty good. However, I remember when they used to have flavors that I could not get elsewhere but it feels pretty basic nowadays. They give bigger single scoops at Baskin Robbin's for the same price or even a couple cents more. Ambiance: 5/5 I say there's ample enough seating and it feels clean and comfortable. I like sitting near the window but I just don't like that their one and only trash can is right next to that table. Verdict: I am not sure if I will be coming back. I noticed their flavors don't change as much as they used to. I remember being excited to see what's new but after today it seems like they been keeping things the same for awhile now. Between the size of the scoops, service, and the flavors I am not sure if I want to come back.
