a cup of coffee and a muffin on a table

This is easily the friendliest Starbucks that I've come across since moving to a new state. The baristas are friendly, always have my order right & you can tell everyone is having a good time at work. There's a good amount of seating & I've spent several hours working from here. Be warned though, it can get noisy from the coffee grinder, music & amount of people who might be in at any time! Still a great place to relax with coffee & a good book!

Good service, good coffee, inside seating is a little cramped. Normal everyday Starbucks for you.

A quick search for the highest-rated independent coffee shops nearby led me straight to Settlers Coffee & Provisions, and wow, am I ever grateful it did! Tucked right in the charming heart of Thompson's Station, this adorable spot feels like it was plucked from a storybook. Parking was an absolute breeze--I snagged a spot directly out front like it was waiting just for me. The moment I walked in, the warm, inviting vibe wrapped around me like a hug. The owners greeted me with the kind of genuine Southern hospitality that instantly makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Their smiles and easy conversation were the perfect start to my morning. I ordered a breakfast burrito and a Hazelnut Mocha, and let me tell you--both were nothing short of perfection. The burrito was hearty, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with fresh flavors that hit all the right spots. And that Hazelnut Mocha? Heavenly. Rich, velvety espresso balanced beautifully with smooth hazelnut and just the right touch of chocolate--easily one of the best mochas I've ever had. Settlers Coffee & Provisions isn't just a coffee shop; it's a little slice of small-town magic. Cozy, delicious, and run by the friendliest people around. I'm already daydreaming about my next visit--this place has officially earned a permanent spot on my caffeine-craving rotation! Highly, highly recommend!

It's on the smaller side, but they have designed the space well to maximize their seating (both indoor and outdoor). Very cute, relaxed setting and friendly, helpful employees! What I particularly loved is they make a lot of things in-house from scratch (from syrups and cold foams, to pastries and other food items) or sell locally made products. The coffee and breakfast I tried were good and I grabbed a pastry to go -- for research purposes of course -- and that was tasty as well. They also roast their own coffee if you want something to take and brew from home. All-in-all, definitely a worthwhile coffee stop if you're in the area!

I stopped in on a crisp fall morning, and the moment I took that first sip, I knew I'd found something special. The staff was welcoming and genuinely kind, the kind of people who remember your smile and make sure your coffee is made just the way you like it. I took my cup to go and wandered through the nearby historic grounds, surrounded by golden leaves and sunshine -- it was the perfect pairing of caffeine and calm. I downloaded the app and ordered tater cakes, two womelettes, and a cortado with brown sugar syrup. The total ended up being around $32, which I honestly did not think was that expensive. When checking out, I was disappointed to only see a card and PayPal option, as I use Apple Pay for everything. It would not save my card information, and I tried to save it for 10 minutes before closing the app for the 5th time, and then the option for Apple Pay randomly appeared. When I picked the order up, the staff kindly greeted me. I said I had a mobile order, they got it, and that was it. Quick and easy, which is how I prefer. The inside was really clean and cozy, and I wished I had eaten inside instead of in my car. For the food itself, it was fine. The tater cakes seemed to be tater tots pressed in a waffle maker. I did like the womelette, but it tasted like nothing special, like something I could make at home. The salsa and sour cream made it better, though it was a little cold, even though I picked it up on time. I could not drink the cortado. I added brown sugar syrup, but barely tasted it, and it was too bitter. However, I am used to flavored cortados. There were other menu items that caught my eye, so I would definitely give it another try.

I walked in, glanced at the menu for approximately 2.7 seconds, and knew exactly what destiny had in store for me: the Salted Queen Caramel Latte. (Yes ma'am. Royalty in a cup.) I placed my order with a young lady who was polite, friendly, and engaging, the kind of person who makes you feel like you've been coming there for years, even if you just figured out where to stand. Five-star customer service before the caffeine even hit. Seating options? Oh, they've got you covered. You can sit outside upstairs and pretend you're in a Hallmark movie, or stay inside where it's cool and comfortable. We chose inside. The high-top table had USB ports and electrical plugs, which is a classy move. Nothing says "we care" like letting people charge their phone while they charge their soul. And yes, there's WiFi if you feel the need to actually work instead of just looking productive. Then I heard it, my name called out like I'd just won a prize. I stepped forward... and met my Salted Queen Caramel Latte. Wow. It was better than expected. Smooth. Rich. Perfectly balanced. I took one sip and this Old GOAT almost fainted. Which is ironic... because that's exactly where we were. If you live in Franklin and haven't tried The Fainting Goat Coffee, you're missing out. Go meet the Queen. Just be prepared... you might faint.

The service was beyond horrible. Get ready because here is a LONG list of all that was wrong: 1. My drink was not what I ordered. I ordered earl grey and they gave me a coffee...I hate coffee. 2. We had a party of four and our food and drinks were served all scattered: some would get their drinks (after 45 minutes of waiting) and some would already get their food. Why did it not come at the same time? 3. We all got our food at different times, and some didn't get their drink until 25 minutes after their food. We had a lovely group of girls who came before us and had yet to get ANY drinks or food (they order water mind you) 4. We had absolutely no silverware even when the food came and when we got it they were soaking wet. We tried explaining this to the owner and she said "well I run my restaurant differently" 5. The server was very rude and seemed annoyed when we asked for simple requests 6. When the server brought sugar as we requested it was practically empty 7. The "owner" (I don't know if I can even call her that as she was EXTREMELY unprofessional) came over to ask us what was wrong because she overheard us complaining and we listed all of our recommendations kindly and she proceeded to give a list of excuses. She also said that she "runs" a restaurant differently than what we would when we stated we have worked in restaurants before and this is not how it is done. She rudely walked away as we were explaining our issues. That's not all. When one of us said "Clearly you don't know how to run one" under our breath she ran back and screamed across the restaurant "What did you just say about me" directly to one of us who did not even say it. This is extremely unprofessional for an owner. You should always respect customers even when they are being a pain. Trust me, I have been a server and you will always have difficult customers but you ALWAYS treat them with respect and never lose your temper. All in all, I will NEVER be back and hope this "owner" becomes more responsible and respectful towards her customers. It is a beautiful establishment that just needs better management.
