I came in here to do some work and was charging my phone. The kids that worked here cleaned the restroom over an hour before the store closed and blocked the restroom from being used and proceeded to tell the customers including myself we could not use it to go to another restaurant near by. When I confronted the manager she said YES we typically clean an hour before. I have worked at Starbucks all over SD and this has NEVER been a standard procedure anywhere! I enjoy Starbucks a lot. The staff here was very nice and filled my cup very full with delicious drink and whip cream. They also gave me a large cold cup of water. The inside is a little small and quite busy with people, so maybe you will not be able to find a seat, but it is a good place to stop by for a drink. read more

I highly don't recommend this place!!!!!!!!!! so no star . There was a barista with her attitude I ordered a venti ice caramel macchiato and use my rewards . So first mistake was the Person making the order he was not doing his Job properly and had an attitude towards me for no reason,I had to repeat the order twice ,and he still didn't get the order right , barista made a grande hot caramel macchiato and had an attitude when I said to her that my order was incorrect ,and she ask me for my recipe so I did show her my recipe and she didn't even bother to apologize or to say anything,she just did another mistake making a grande ice macchiato even though I explained her that it was a venti caramel macchiato and that I had use my rewards point for the drink .baristas like this two need time off to cool off or get disciplined by a higher authority or something else,these people need to be able to do their work professional and deal with problems at home . I don't appreciate the time and the experience with this type of employees . Next time I will make the time to talk to the manager about this situation. The older lady at the front doesn't know what she is doing. She wanted to charge me $6.70 and the drink I wanted is suppose to come out to $5.75 I didn't have enough funds in my app so I had to drop the vanilla cream. She seemed very nonchalant about the whole situation. Didn't even listen when I was explaining to her, she just said "No, it's not." Only three words you hear from someone who's supposed to greet you in the morning and thank you after you pay. Be very careful and make sure you're not getting overcharged here. Came here today to get my usual grande cold brew and I wanted it half cold brew and half oat milk. They never charge me extra for that request but today the lady insisted that she has to charge me because it was more than an inch of milk, mind you I'm also getting less coffee. So I went ahead and paid but then I overheard the same lady talking to the manager and the manager corrected her and said that it's not their policy to charge for that kind of request. I was still at the store waiting for my drink and neither the lady or the manager offered to correct the problem. This is bad business IMO. I know it's not much but it's the principle. I ordered a Tall decaf with cream and vanilla syrup. The cashier was not paying attention and asked me several questions about my order and she then asked me if I wanted the vanilla syrup in the coffee?!? I responded yes, please. She then leaned over to the barista working next to her and made a snide comment about me in Spanish which that barista responded to in kind even though I had said please and thank you throughout the process. They both wrongly assumed that I did not speak Spanish. I then waited as customers came and went. Luckily for me, the MOD noticed me hanging around and asked about my order (which the MOD kindly filled in about 20 seconds) whereupon the cashier remembered I had once been served by her but she had not conveyed my order to be filled. Hard to focus when one's concentration is on making snide comments about customers to coworkers. This Starbucks located inside Loma Santa Fe Plaza. There is not drive thru, which is inconvenient, it tends to get pretty busy. There is a large outdoor patio, however the freeway noise is too strong and lound to actually enjoy the oudoor space. read more

Great service, very small place but they have a patio out back with lots of room. All the usual stuff, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and chocolate. I like the egg white sous vie. They are fantastic in a pinch with a americano. Never has it taken too long for my drink here so I like that. read more

This is a pretty nice Starbucks, and I am particularly fond of the outside patio in the back of this location. I enjoyed a nice hot robust Venti Americana with a some room for cream, but they left a little to much room, so I had to ask them to put more coffee in my Venti. I just want it to be a Venti. The Americana was good and delivered the kick I needed. Although the service was pretty good and up beat, I noticed the employees were very chatty with each other during my visit. Will not be coming here again as it seems to be a roll of the dice of the politeness experience I will get. I was never a regular here but really enjoyed the workers when I did go in. I really like the worker nick and joe, seem to have a good head on their shoulders and really nice. as to newer partners, I think her name was "satcha" or "sasha"? couldn't tell as she wasn't wearing her name tag, but I overheard someone else say it. anyways, she was really rude (she rolled her eyes at me and I asked if the order was complete and she just stared at me as a way to tell me to go away?), she rang up my drink completely wrong, didn't even seem to want to work there, and honestly just ruined my whole experience . as I said before usually I like going in because it seems chill inside but when she was working she seemed to make it harder for others. I noticed mine was not the only messed up order too. I don't know the name of who was helping her out but she had brown hair and more petite than satcha. I felt bad for that brown haired girl because she looked like she was really struggling (wasn't too hard to hear the conversation as it's a petty small store). This wasn't even all of it that convinced me to not come back. So next my girlfriend decided to go in to pick up some coffee for her and I on the way home. The only reason her drinks were rang up correctly was probably because someone else did it, then her drinks took awhile to be made and when she did get them, they tasted wrong (not sure how drinks can be wrong if they are ordered correctly, and I knew this because of that sticker they put on the cup. ordered iced chai and iced green tea.) not only that but the first thing my girlfriend said to me was "the girl making drinks seemed to hate being there because overhead her ask to not make drinks, or complain about making drinks (edited as my girlfriend overheard from the girl making drinks). so i honestly didn't wanna ask for a remake or point out the mistake since other people seemed to have been doing the same and when other people did, she rolled her eyes." She described her to me and i figured it was the same girl. So i'm writing this as a review in hopes for this store to get it together and maybe just replace this girl because why do you have workers who dont want to make drinks? aren't they being paid? I mean clearly you guys are able to have some capable workers like anyone's who has helped me and made a good enough experience for me to have come back, anybody besides satcha. I was told by one associate that it was okay for me and my very small dog to sit inside away from the rain. Then, a female associate came in and made movements that scared my dog and when she barked the lady rudely yelled at me that only service animals are allowed inside. I understand that but there are much nicer ways to inform people of such things especially when your associates told me otherwise. I've been using this store over the last few weeks due to a change in job assignment. I like the remodel of the store, however the service is really poor. I'm a low maintenance Starbucks customer (meaning my drink order is as basic as it comes) but they treat me like I'm ordering a 14 ingredient masterpiece. There has only been one friendly employee (woman) each time I've been in and she's the only one smiling. On my way to work I pass about a million locations, but I am always in the search for the most convenient location where I can get off and back on the freeway quickly. This location does the trick. The crew here is really friendly and service is quick. Not a huge location, but the line that they do have gets busted down pretty quickly. I don't feel inundated with upsells either. Never had so much trouble at a Starbucks before. The cashier did not know the promos that were going on (BOGO drinks) and then when I told him I wanted to do my drinks and my food on a separate transaction, he ended up ringing them together and then didn't know how to cancel and redo. Consistently surprised at how great the customer service is at this location. After changing jobs, this became my new go to location - on my way to work. From day one I have been warmly welcomed every time I walk into the store. By my second week of coming to this store, multiple employees had learned my name and drink order. On one particularly difficult morning, I accidentally ordered my boss's drink on the mobile app, and only when I got to the store did I realized my mistake. Joe quickly made my normal drink for me, allowing me to still get to work on time with my soy chai in hand. He had no idea how much that brightened my day, but I couldn't have been more appreciative. My local Starbucks. This place has great service and was just newly renovated. The Starbucks across the 5 highway is consistently busy with a longer line and longer wait time on drinks it seems. This Starbucks is quick and friendly, making it possible to get my coffee and still make it to work on time. They have never messed up my order either. This location also has an back outdoor patio that is spacious and typically pretty quiet. It's secluded by trees and bushes. Great If want to hide away and enjoy your coffee. If you are more in the mood to be seen/people watch I would suggest going to the busier Starbucks across the 5, or the one right downtown Del Mar.
