Starbucks sad offering for seating De La Vina location Santa Barbara. Forget charging your tech here.
    Gale A.

This could be the worst Starbucks in Santa Barbara. This was a delightful Coffee Bean location, large, lots of tables, great place to meet. Now Starbucks has taken over it has all the charm and ambiance of a dentist's office waiting room. No tables inside, just a line up of chairs along the front windows. A few tables outside, but today it's windy and cold, so no thanks. No place to charge a phone that I can see. My order was ridiculous. So simple! But somehow the barrista didn't notice the literal lumps of curdled cream floating in the coffee, of which there had to be at least 20, some the size of pencil erasers. Moving soooo slowly, so she had time to notice. My breakfast sandwich was cold by the time I sorted the coffee out, and did not have the butter and knife I requested. Just a really sad experience. Upon getting a refill, I asked for dark roast and she proceeded to start some from scratch without asking if I wanted to wait or just have Pikes. I took the Pikes as the previous dark roast had been so bland. Girl was still moving at glacial speed, so took my sugar to go. Apparently, Starbucks is going for cold and unwelcoming in their decor now, to move people along. It's quite effective, I won't be back.

This Starbucks is great! The baristas work very hard. They have a good system. The parking isn't the best but it is manageable. It is about 2.5 miles away from the freeway so it is relatively easy to access. The store is clean and well stocked

I wish I had got your names but it was Wednesday August 24th at 2:30 PM. You were both lovely people and the girl that made my drink was amazing and friendly. The young man that took my order was the same. It was nice to walk in they made me feel very welcome. I hope you both enjoy your day.

    Super cute inside!

Their drinks are addictedly delicious! I have tried several different ones from espresso, latte, to matcha and non-caffeinated drinks. Each one has been consistently great. 2 stars Due to their popularity, there's always almost a line out the door. However, if you follow them on IG, they do post update stories throughout the day about quantity status and how long the wait would be. They're pretty efficient, so even with a long line, I've never waited more than 20-30mins. 1 star The store is not meant for a sit down and hang out or study spot, but big enough to fit a good number of customers waiting around for drinks. 1 star They don't offer latte art or even hot drink, but ALL of their cold drinks and baked good are more than enough to make up for that! 1 star Really wish they'll start expanding soon. Central Coast can really use a great Asian coffee/bakery. As for now, I'll just have to drive down to Santa Barbara once or twice a month to get my Kin fix! I got the taco salad and was handed a very ordinary ice tea in a plastic disposable 10oz cup that was mostly ice, there would be no refills and I regrettably pre tipped. Pretty expensive but I don't mind if the food is good. I was given a number and told to go find a seat. Because they use every square inch for seating they had some uncovered seats that were in the hot sun, these were the only ones open so I sat in the hot sun with no shade. About a twenty minute wait for my taco salad. I wouldn't normally write a review over a taco salad but this one was so bad and so overpriced I thought it deserved one. It was basically a grocery store salad mix with a scoop of ground beef and a quarter of an avocado on top in a greasy flour tortilla bowl. I couldn't tell if the beef was good or not because it was drowned in what tasted like a sweet thousand island dressing. The setting is beautiful and the staff is friendly and competent but the taco salad is terrible and expensive.

They sell lots of flavors of Turkish coffee, and I was used to a sweetened and cardamon flavored version I had had in Egypt, Jordan and Israel, so I opted for the cardamon version. We tried multiple other places that didn't have outdoor seating (so not dog friendly), but then we found Caje on State Street. Granted it was a hot day, but this store was really really hot inside, like unpleasantly so. I felt bad for the barista! They were quite busy, and there's only one guy preparing the drinks while another person took our orders. On the other hand, it's cool and shady in the spacious outdoor seating area of Paseo Nuevo, which was right outside the store. I had a small Iced Rose Matcha Latte with 2% milk.
