First time in a Turkish Cafe. Beautifully decorated like with all the Middle Eastern Touch. Amazing service. Variety of Baklavas and desserts was impressive. We ordered a Turkish Iced Tea and a couple of Baklavas to taste. Sweetened perfectly and the baklava was made to perfection. I didn't try the coffee, but it did look like an original Turkish coffee. I tried the oreo and tiramisu Turkish delight. The oreo one was really good and had a nice crunch to it because of the cookie crumbs, but it was still soft and sweet. To me, the tiramisu didn't have much flavor and reminded me of fondant. The shop is really cute and the service was nice. read more

This is always a must stop when I'm in town. My husband spend more than he should but it's his favorite candy. I love the Turkish delights. If you've seen Narnia then you'll know how good it is. Staff was really kind to my daughter and let her try a sample that she was eyeing. They also have a delicious dubai chocolate cake that is absolutely Devine. It's sweet but not overly sweet. I wish Lokum was not so far from the Bay Area otherwise I'd go more often. read more

Lokum made me nostalgic for Istanbul! It is a fun dessert place and not only located in the heart of State Street! They have a bit of everything Turkish: wide array of baklava and lokum (Turkish delight), decadent desserts (Dubai chocolate is an option!), simit, Turkish served tea and coffee. You can grab some to bring home or offer as a nice gift. They have tables inside and outside where you can enjoy dessert with tea served in glasses like in Turkey or coffee. They also serve breakfast which is nice if you want something different. You can buy Turkish tea and coffee to make at home. Attentive service, water from the house, prices are a tad high. Great place for a nice treat, the Turkish kind! We need a similar shop in LA! read more

This rose and pomegranate Turkish Delight was so yummy! I had never tried a Turkish Delight before today and I really enjoyed it. Rose and pomegranate are some of my favorite flavors so I knew this one would be good. Also the tea had a nice bitterness that balanced the Delight. tl;dr upscale candy shop meets home goods store at this unapologetically Turkish cafe; come for the confections, stay for the baklava and coffee Lokum, more commonly known as "Turkish delight", has been a staple candy across the Middle East and Southeastern Europe for centuries. These jelly-like confections range from creamy to fruity to nutty and tend to be served in bite-sized cubes. So, what happens when you devote an upscale cafe concept to this traditional treat? You get LOKUM, a downtown Santa Barbara coffeeshop-candy store opened by brothers Bulent and Levent Derdiyok in 2020. From the outside, LOKUM mostly blends in with the rest of the Mission Revival architecture along State St. But one step inside and you're transported to Turkey. The opulent decor is punctuated by showstopping candeliers hanging from the soaring ceilings. A handful of wood epoxy tables separate sky-high shelves of Turkish coffee/tea, pastry staples, and homeware. The dark marble candy/pastry display is richly colorful. Meadows of pistachio-sprinkled baklava sit right up front, while a rainbow of forearm-length Turkish delights run the length of the restaurant. Eighties pop echoes around the space. Expect a quiet cafe around opening, but a bustling bistro by mid-afternoon. My partner and I popped in twice during our visit to Santa Barbara. On both occasions, the staff were quick to offer samples of Turkish delight and halva. My favorite varieties were the standard Pistachio Honey Turkish Delight and the chewy "Narnia" series; some of the more adventurous flavors simply had too much going on. While we didn't end up purchasing any candy, we did opt for the next-level strong Traditional Turkish Coffee and the Kadaif Extra Pistachio pastry. The kadaif (a shredded phyllo pastry soaked with syrup) was generously layered with crushed pistachios. The portion felt modest at first, but the sweet, rich flavor satisfied within just a few bites. The prices were notably steep: our pastry and coffee both approached $8, while the Turkish delight went for nearly $40 per pound. However, the overall experience was decidedly positive. For a unique cafe, stellar service, and mouth-watering eats, look no further than LOKUM -- but don't be surprised to feel tempted by the toothsome treats. read more

Turkish delight was yummy, coffee was tough tbh, it was true Turkish coffee but a spoon would have been nice to mix it. You're better off getting just the regular Turkish coffee and not getting the special flavors. We got the chocolate and hazelnut and didn't notice a difference in taste. read more

When traveling, even if just a road trip, calories don't count, right? At least they don't for me which is why after dinner, when walking down State to burn off some calories, my friend and I wandered right into Lokum. After all, dessert is never optional ... I love Turkish Delights and Baklava. And this place has them both! And more. I knew I was going to buy a box (see pics) and the staff still offered me samples. I tend to know what I like when it comes to these snacks but there were a few I hadn't had before (at other places, of course) as this was my first visit here. Cool little spot to hang out and have snacks and a warm beverage (think coffee and tea) but know it's not a large seating area. No table service. You'd have to order at the counter, then wait for your order. At least I didn't notice a hostess or servers as I was too focused on my snacks. Again, see pics. I forgot to snack and share some with my friend later that evening but they were still awesome the next day and the day after. Still had the soft chewiness, kinda like gel - meaning it didn't harden like a rock. And the taste still was nice and sweet and everything still melted in my mouth. I was really looking forward to this place, but unfortunately it was a letdown. The baklava was not fresh at all dry (maybe since we went later in the day?), tasted like it was soggy and sitting out all day, and definitely not worth the high price. What made the experience worse was a hygiene issue. We were served a piece of baklava that had a hair in it. Instead of discarding it immediately, the employee simply removed the hair and tried to give us the same piece back. Since we watched him do it, we had to explicitly ask for a different piece, and only then did he finally throw it away. That should have been done without question. If we didn't notice he would have just tried to serve it to us. For a dessert shop charging premium prices, freshness and basic food safety is a bare minimum. read more

Hands down the best coffee shop I've been to in the U.S. -- Lokum is a 10/10 across the board. Everything here is done right. The space is beautiful, the desserts are unreal, the coffee is excellent, and you can immediately tell this place is run properly. The owner was present and actively helping behind the register, which says everything -- when the owner is on the floor, assisting the team, you know standards are high. The Turkish delights (lokum) are next level -- fresh, perfectly textured, and not overly sweet. The baklava selection is insane: flaky, balanced, rich without being heavy. You can tell real care goes into every detail. Service deserves special mention. Casey helped us and was incredibly fast, friendly, and professional, and honestly the entire team knows how to deliver real customer service -- something that's way too rare in the U.S. You can feel that true Turkish hospitality has been brought here, and it shows in every interaction. This is one of those places you go to once and immediately say: I'm coming back every time I'm in Santa Barbara. Well done -- seriously impressive. read more

What a treasure. This space is beautiful, carefully curated, and immersive. These guys should hold a masterclass on ambiance, like for real. There are SO many choices for sweets here in such a vast variety of flavors, there's literally something for everyone. And the baklava looked absolutely divine. My husband and I came in on a mission to get some Turkish coffee (strong, sweet, and slightly gritty). They had it available in both hot and iced...but then the Ottoman caught my attention. The Ottoman sounded like the extra upon extra, super indulgent coffee experience. Strong coffee with the gritty grounds, cream, pistachio, terebinhts (pistachios but make them feral), mastic (tree resin), and carob. And it was extra. It reminded me sort of like a more angry mint chip. My husband expressed that it tastes like a tree. Perhaps an acquired taste. But definitely a unique experience for those who are okay with curiosity getting the better of them! read more

LoKum: a cool Turkish cafe , with very nice people . The Turkish coffee was so goo! It was thick and bold, I ordered the cardamom flavor and it was perfect. My husband got the Turkish tea, which was simple, full-flavored, and perfect hot temperature. It the ideal balance with the Turkish delight they serve. They are soft, chewy, and lightly sweet...the best I've had and super delicious! The space itself is beautiful and aesthetic, very open and inviting with a few outdoor seating options as well. Point of view is important when evaluating the quality of Baklava's, Turkish delights, and Turkish Coffee at Lokum. If you have never tried the sand made traditional Turkish coffee, Lokum's coffee is a 4/5 for you. However, the quality of their "traditional coffee" is no where close to the sand made traditional Turkish coffee as it tastes watery and is not prepaired using the sand technic, so I say it is a 2/5 compare to the traditional sand made Turkish coffee. The Baklava's we had wers not fresh and their is a taste of refrigeration associated with it. The delight is okay. Price wise, this place is extremely expensive. The coffee was $5.5 and came with a small delight. Baklava's are sold seprately and an inch by inch sizs Baklava is $4-6 dollars depending on the variety, in late 2025. Service is decent and ambiance is extremely nice. read more

If you're looking for authentic Turkish Coffee, Baklava and delights. I highly recommend visiting this location. They have a variety of Baklavas you can order. I can say coffee was really good. There is plenty of seating area in the store. You can either order for dine in or to go. They also sell coffee mugs, cups, and Turkish coffee. Service is good, staff make recommendations on which ones are the best ones or customers buy a lot. I went with the original flavors since I knew the taste. I will be back for sure to try more baklavas. read more

A beautiful and fantastic Turkish heaven with sweets that are the right amount of sweet, gluten-free. Clearly identified, friendly service, and very strong coffee! From the moment you enter, the place smells fantastic. I liked their Dubai chocolate but they're fig gluten-free more, and unfortunately the rose was not very flavorful. My friend recommended this place for our weekend trip to SB! It's right up state street by brandy Melville. We went around 11am on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all. The shop is so well decorated and clean. There were a lot of employees and the shelves were all stocked with goods. We got their pistachio and walnut pastries. Each was $4 which is pretty expensive considering it's 2 bites, but it's really sweet so you really don't need too much. I preferred the walnut better! This is definitely a dessert place but you can tell there's a lot of care in making their goods. read more

I always pass by here whenever I go to Santa Barbara! I really love their Turkish coffee and their nougats. If you love sweet treats and coffee, this is your spot. They even have pretty cups and plates, I'm not sure if they're from Turkey, or made here but they're so pretty! This place was amazing. Found it walking down State Street. You could smell the aroma from the sidewalk we went in. The ambience was amazing. Great customer service they let you sample the Turkish candies sold by weight. Stopped in for some baklava & Turkish delight. It was busy in there on a Sunday but the line moved quick. For Turkish delights I ordered the Brownie chocolate & hazelnut, Pistachio Nutella, and coconut covered fig & hazelnut. The Turkish delight are chewy and soft on the inside depending which ones you pick. I love that they have many options and combinations of flavors. I was visiting a classmate of mine who is from Türkiye, and she had been gifting me sweets from this particular store because she knows how much I love lokum. I am so glad she finally took me here (so we could gossip about our former classmates), as it is such a cute place and is the perfect place to buy gifts. We had tea and bread, and the tea came with sugar (I normally drink my tea unsweetened but do as the Turkish do). We were able to sit outside and bask in the sun, and the very kind server helped bring out our orders to our table. I will say that I was a bit shocked how far out the tables were (they were practically in the bike road). There are various Turkish goods to buy here, so I picked up a towel for my mom. They also have a selection of jewelry, tea sets and merchandise to purchase here. The aesthetic is lovely and definitely should be on your itinerary if you spend time in SB! This place was recommended by my massage therapy to stop by to check out, so I did I have pass by this place so many times, there is another story in San Luis Obispo Ca. Lokum Turkish Delight & Baklava is a beautiful hidden gem on State Street in the 805. I was greeted by two staff which one of them was the manger Sercon who also gave me a few samples, both of them was very nice friendly plus helpful, they suggestion a few and I ended up getting the hazelnut Turkish coffee. This place is really beautiful plus with a tiled floor huge chandeliers lighting, a variety of Turkish delights, coffee, tea, household Items, jewelry. My Turkish coffee which was a 4oz small cup was $6 kinda expensive for the size, it was OK, my coffee taste buds are used to Vietnamese coffee, but when I return next month I can't wait to try their tea & Baklave. read more

When I walked into this store I was amazed! The decore and lights are so pretty and aesthetically pleasing! They have many treats to choose from but the one that caught my eye was the viral Dubai chocolate that was 24.99, don't get me wrong it tasted great but the package was 2x bigger than the actual chocolate bar which was definitely a disappointment considering how much we paid for the smallest amount of chocolate.
