I tried the oreo and tiramisu Turkish delight. The oreo one was really good and had a nice crunch to it because of the cookie crumbs, but it was still soft and sweet. To me, the tiramisu didn't have much flavor and reminded me of fondant. The shop is really cute and the service was nice. read more

Lokum made me nostalgic for Istanbul! It is a fun dessert place and not only located in the heart of State Street! This is always a must stop when I'm in town. My husband spend more than he should but it's his favorite candy. I love the Turkish delights. If you've seen Narnia then you'll know how good it is. Staff was really kind to my daughter and let her try a sample that she was eyeing. They also have a delicious dubai chocolate cake that is absolutely Devine. It's sweet but not overly sweet. A handful of wood epoxy tables separate sky-high shelves of Turkish coffee/tea, pastry staples, and homeware. The dark marble candy/pastry display is richly colorful. Meadows of pistachio-sprinkled baklava sit right up front, while a rainbow of forearm-length Turkish delights run the length of the restaurant. Eighties pop echoes around the space. Expect a quiet cafe around opening, but a bustling bistro by mid-afternoon. My partner and I popped in twice during our visit to Santa Barbara. On both occasions, the staff were quick to offer samples of Turkish delight and halva. My favorite varieties were the standard Pistachio Honey Turkish Delight and the chewy "Narnia" series; some of the more adventurous flavors simply had too much going on. While we didn't end up purchasing any candy, we did opt for the next-level strong Traditional Turkish Coffee and the Kadaif Extra Pistachio pastry. I tend to know what I like when it comes to these snacks but there were a few I hadn't had before (at other places, of course) as this was my first visit here. Cool little spot to hang out and have snacks and a warm beverage (think coffee and tea) but know it's not a large seating area. No table service. You'd have to order at the counter, then wait for your order. At least I didn't notice a hostess or servers as I was too focused on my snacks. Again, see pics. I forgot to snack and share some with my friend later that evening but they were still awesome the next day and the day after. Still had the soft chewiness, kinda like gel - meaning it didn't harden like a rock. And the taste still was nice and sweet and everything still melted in my mouth. Rose and pomegranate are some of my favorite flavors so I knew this one would be good. Also the tea had a nice bitterness that balanced the Delight. The baklava was not fresh at all dry (maybe since we went later in the day?), tasted like it was soggy and sitting out all day, and definitely not worth the high price. What made the experience worse was a hygiene issue. We were served a piece of baklava that had a hair in it. Instead of discarding it immediately, the employee simply removed the hair and tried to give us the same piece back. Since we watched him do it, we had to explicitly ask for a different piece, and only then did he finally throw it away. That should have been done without question. If we didn't notice he would have just tried to serve it to us. For a dessert shop charging premium prices, freshness and basic food safety is a bare minimum. read more

The space is beautiful, the desserts are unreal, the coffee is excellent, and you can immediately tell this place is run properly. The owner was present and actively helping behind the register, which says everything -- when the owner is on the floor, assisting the team, you know standards are high. The Turkish delights (lokum) are next level -- fresh, perfectly textured, and not overly sweet. The baklava selection is insane: flaky, balanced, rich without being heavy. You can tell real care goes into every detail. Service deserves special mention. Casey helped us and was incredibly fast, friendly, and professional, and honestly the entire team knows how to deliver real customer service -- something that's way too rare in the U.S. You can feel that true Turkish hospitality has been brought here, and it shows in every interaction. Point of view is important when evaluating the quality of Baklava's, Turkish delights, and Turkish Coffee at Lokum. If you have never tried the sand made traditional Turkish coffee, Lokum's coffee is a 4/5 for you. However, the quality of their "traditional coffee" is no where close to the sand made traditional Turkish coffee as it tastes watery and is not prepaired using the sand technic, so I say it is a 2/5 compare to the traditional sand made Turkish coffee. The Baklava's we had wers not fresh and their is a taste of refrigeration associated with it. The delight is okay. Price wise, this place is extremely expensive. The coffee was $5.5 and came with a small delight. Baklava's are sold seprately and an inch by inch sizs Baklava is $4-6 dollars depending on the variety, in late 2025. My friend recommended this place for our weekend trip to SB! It's right up state street by brandy Melville. We went around 11am on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all. The shop is so well decorated and clean. There were a lot of employees and the shelves were all stocked with goods. We got their pistachio and walnut pastries. Each was $4 which is pretty expensive considering it's 2 bites, but it's really sweet so you really don't need too much. I preferred the walnut better! I was visiting a classmate of mine who is from Türkiye, and she had been gifting me sweets from this particular store because she knows how much I love lokum. I am so glad she finally took me here (so we could gossip about our former classmates), as it is such a cute place and is the perfect place to buy gifts. We had tea and bread, and the tea came with sugar (I normally drink my tea unsweetened but do as the Turkish do). We were able to sit outside and bask in the sun, and the very kind server helped bring out our orders to our table. I will say that I was a bit shocked how far out the tables were (they were practically in the bike road). There are various Turkish goods to buy here, so I picked up a towel for my mom.
