They also may have made the milkshake too early because I ordered it 15 minutes ahead and by the time I got it, it was complete liquid. I just had to throw up. As for the chicken, the bread needs to get upgraded. It is so thick and has absolute no flavor and completely stale. Maybe hawaiian buns would be a better option. Chicken itself is also meh, it has potential but it's just meh. Also, please don't just put pickles on the fries, not everyone wants the pickles or the juice soaked into the fries. I visited Dave's Drip House twice within a two-week period, both on Saturday evenings around 8:00 PM (including Valentine's Day). On both occasions, there was only one employee managing the entire operation--taking orders, preparing desserts, and assisting customers. There were several customers waiting in line and for their food, which understandably created delays. While the employee handled the situation professionally, it seemed unreasonable to expect one person to manage a busy dessert shop alone during peak weekend hours. For the well-being of staff and to maintain efficient service, I believe scheduling at least two employees during high-traffic times, especially on weekends, would be beneficial. read more

When I went into Dave's Drip House, I was greeted by the friendly employees who explained to me the different sizes, different toppings available, and they were really patient while offering me a variety of taste tests of the different flavors. The inside of the place if very Instagram-able: the sprinkle lights on the ceiling, the ice cream sandwich swing, the neon sign wall, and the floors were very decorative. A unique concept and I wish them success. I tried their Mando & Pineapple Dole Whip in a mixed swirl, and my friend tried the Colossal Swirl (with strawberry ice cream, Oreos, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch). Although the 16oz Dole Whip serving was large, it was not Coastal Cones in Ventura or Disneyland where it's creamy and "whipped" like. It was much more like a frozen soft serve sorbet. It was not a light creamy yellow color as I thought it'd be given their Disney logo advertisement. Tasty but didn't hit the spot. Hopefully they fix that! As for the Colossal Swirl my friend got. It was very tasty. Not sure if worth the $10 as others mentioned the whole Thrift ice cream use, but the concept of Mcflurrifying anything of your choice is appealing as it was pretty damn delicious. This place is fun for the aesthetic, but to be honest I'd rather spend $5 a scoop at an artisanal ice cream spot in town. Which is why.... I ordered the pineapple dole whip! It was really good and refreshing, and l added the tajin topping that made it even better! If I were to compare this to Disneyland's dole whip, it is a very dense soft serve. I've been here a few times now, and while they have a fun variety of desserts--dole whip, funnel cakes, and even more deep-fried options --I have to admit, my experiences with the ice cream have been inconsistent enough that I'm not sure I'd return. The menu is definitely tempting, and the dole whip and other treats I've tried have been pretty good, but every time I've gone for ice cream, there's been an issue. On a couple of occasions, the waffle cone was stale, and the ice cream had that distinct "freezer burn" taste. Even more interesting, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month wayyy back in 1984. They knew what was up and delicious back in the day. After hearing about its popularity, I finally ventured into Dave's Drip House. Yep, same Dave who brought us Dave's Dogs across the parking lot. He's obviously still a kid at heart and shares his love for these All American foods with us. Upon entering the parlor, you are transported into a miniature ice cream cone. Swirled vanilla with pink raspberry on the glossy floor, and a rainbow of LED sprinkles on the ceiling. Take a ride on the Neapolitan Sandwich swing for that ice cream selfie, or pick up the Pepto-Bismol pink pay phone to call the Tooth Fairy via speed dial. You may need both of those after this trip--along with some Lactaid. In all honesty, I didn't particularly come here for the ice cream. Instead I had my eyes set on a funnel cake without the need to visit a carnival. Dave has an entire menu of funnel cakes with specialty toppings and names. As a chocolate phene, I shared the Chocolate Lovers Funnel Cake. Who doesn't love a scoop of cold ice cream with fluffy whipped cream, powdered sugar AND chocolate syrup?! Of course, they have an entire freezer with an assortment of ice creams behind glass. Tastes encouraged by the friendly staff. Have it your way in a cup, sugar cone, waffle cone or between cookies. Dave's Drip House.... I am a fan! I have been waiting many nights for Dave to open this location and the wait was worth it! My girlfriend Imo and I decided to pop in for some late night treats and they were delicious! We first walked in and were obsessed with the aesthetic! This was such an amazing vibe and looked amazing. The service was pretty great too! We popped in towards closing and the staff were still polite and answered any questions we had. We got a couple items to share and we're in sweets heaven! We ordered the Vampiro and the Funnel Cake Fries... And Dave's you delivered! The Funnel Cake Fries were amazing and they had a lot of sauce options to dip them in as well. The Vampiro was fantastic and definitely for those Chamoy and Tajin fans out there. Overall we loved the items, but wished the Vampiro had a smaller size option and just a little less Chamoy as it over powered a lot of the flavor. Dave (the owner) has done an amazing job with Dave's Dogs and I knew this place would be just as amazing. This place is nestled in the new food court area at the Turnpike shopping center with plenty of parking and outdoor seating. When I walked in, I was blown away by the fun decor! There is a swing shaped like an ice cream sandwich, neon light wall, pink phones, and plenty of other photo opportunities. My kids got the kid size ice cream bowls and topped each scoop off with a fun topping. I appreciate the kid size portions and that each scoop comes with a topping. The topping selection is extensive and includes sprinkles, candy, nuts, a variety of cereals and plenty more. My husband and I ordered a funnel cake and topped it off with strawberry compote and cookies n cream ice cream. Oh man! I no longer have to wait until summer fairs or the circus to come to town because these are legit! I would highly recommend. Their Hot chicken has been dry and has had a rubbery texture lately, like if it's been out for a while. I'm so excited that this place is finally open! My roller derby team and I love visiting Dave's Dogs and we're so excited to have the Drip House as a post practice hang. It was busy but they kept the line moving, ice cream appeared to be thrifty brand which is good but pretty basic- however they also make funnel cakes and cookies, cereal toppings etc to give it a unique spin. My husband and I both got pineapple and mango soft serve/dolewhip. It was good! I really love the interior they made it really cool and great for photo ops.
