I've been coming to this store in beautiful in Santa Barbara, since I moved here last year, my first and most recent experiences were very good ! The employees by the names of Sarina and Trish, are some pleasant people that provided me with a warm welcome and professional attitude. Only went to Baskin Robbins because we had gift cards given to our kids for Christmas. The girl working ran the gift cards but couldn't get them to go through. I told her there was money on them even proceeded to call the number on the back and prove to her the amounts. Instead of trying to figure it out by calling her manager or someone who could possibly help, she said I don't know there is money but I don't know. We heard there were promotional Stranger Things desserts at Baskin Robbins so we swung by after taking the dogs to the dog park this afternoon. We tried all three new flavors and drooled over the bigger desserts like the ice cream cookie and the USS Butterscotch sundae! I got a cup of Eleven's Heaven ice cream. Eleven's favorite food is eggs waffles so this fun ice cream has fudge and waffle cone pieces in it!! Ben got the Upside Down Pralines. It was chocolate ice cream with pieces of pecan pralines in it!! Both were sooooo good!! I tried the USS Butterscotch ice cream but it definitely tasted like Butterscotch, which I'm not a big fan of. Besides this fun Stranger Things promotion, I like Love Potion #31 that's only offered in February for Valentine's day. It looks like Baseball nut is out right now too. Bday cake gone wrong! We ordered a specific cake that our daughter wanted for her 8th bday party. This cake would serve 12-16 people. When we cut into the cake it was the wrong flavored cake and ice cream. I immediately called the shop to tell them what had happened and asked if they had the correct cake that we ordered. They replied yes but only for 6-8 people. With 12 girls at this party we went ahead and served the wrong cake and I jumped in the car to go get the correct cake. Upon arrival the person working who had helped me earlier asked me if I had brought the other cake back to which I replied, " I did not". She then called her manager to ask what she should do. Her manager said that they were not able to do anything since I hadn't brought the wrong cake back. So, I'm supposed to bring a 12-16 person cake back in exchange for a 6-8 person cake and leave some kids without a slice??? This is just another case of terrible customer service. The absolute worst service you can imagine and it comes from the owner. We ordered ice cream cakes 2 years in a row for my daughters birthday. Cake was fine but the attitude of the owner unacceptable. Last year she yelled at me for coming an hour late to pick up the cake. I told my wife about it and she must have not believed me because she ordered from the place this year. She got there EARLY and was given a mouthful by the same owner because she had not prepared it yet. Can someone tell this woman that it matters how you treat customers? I enjoy their Mocha Almond Fudge ice cream, usually get it with a cup and a sugar cone on top, and they dont even charge extra for it yea!!! Seriously my wife and I go for a walk with the dogs either she or I stay out with the dogs and the other goes in. The service is fine, they usually have a high school student doing the dishing out. But I find the scoops are great and the selection is great. Of course we go in the middle of the day so its possible that they do close a little early if nobody is around like a lot of people have complained about, but as far as my experience ice cream is good, and the service is fine. grew up going here. of course i love their icecream but I have something to say that happened tonight (friday 02/21/20). On google AND on the wall of Baskin Robbins it says they close at 10pm. My friends and I get to the location at 9:10pm and we see the employees mopping the floor and a friend (assuming) sitting there while they mop. We then proceeded to open the door and it was locked and they told us it was closed. We see a couple eating fresh icecream in their car. It was 50 minutes before close and they closed the shop and told us the time on the wall and google is incorrect? I ordered the delivery service last night at about 9:15PM since I have been sick. Mission ice cream was not taking deliveries anymore that night. Its a 7 min drive to my house so was not expecting perfection of ice cream but what I got for $20 was a very tiny melted soupy scoop and too much cold gooey hot fudge. I paid the same at Mission ice cream and got 3x -4x the amount with far superior ice cream. I see the problem as both Grub Hub and BR that lists a sundae choice and then asks if you to pay more if you want a topping when they didn't specify which one you were getting. What is a sundae without the sauce? BR was pretty stingy and Grub Hub taking 40 min to deliver it...Very disappointed. Will go without next time before ordering at BR on State St. read more

Posted hours (both on the store and Google) are 11-10pm on a Tuesday night. We show up at 9:15pm to a handwritten sign taped in the window that says they are closing at 9:15. As all the chairs are up and the floor is mopped already, pretty sure they closed before revised time. They weren't really busy in there, one employee was leaning on his mop talking to the other behind the register, lots of laughing and not much cleaning happening. This is not a one time event, as other reviews on here show. Pretty lame. Be wary of the ice cream cakes as well. Bought one that was labeled "white cake with pecan praline ice cream". Cut into it, and it was white cake with strawberry ice cream. Staff in general seems irritated and unhappy, and the store is dirty. For the prices they charge, I really expect a little more. By the way, I have worked in the food industry for over 20 years. Occasionally you close when it is slow, not habitually. In that case, you revise your hours, or have seasonal hours. read more

This is the second or third time I've been between 8:30 PM - 9 PM where the staff is cleaning up and the store appears closed. Sign on the front states the store is open until 10 PM. Entered the store and asked if they were still open. We got the "um, kind of, but we're closing soon". By the staff's response you could tell that they did not want to serve anyone and acted like we were imposing. Not a very inviting welcome at all. Stuff was already on the tables, lights inside were dim and outside lights were off. Maybe you should post your new hours and get a new sign or stay open until 10 PM like the sign states. The lady, worker, charged extra and when I went asked her she started to fight with me. The customer service is very bad. The worker yelled at me and was treating me very badly. This BR is so poorly managed and has gone down hill so far that they've finally lost my business because: (1) ALL of the ice cream in the right case is super soft to the point that we didn't enjoy it; ice cream in the left case was super hard and great for eating though harder for them to scoop; (2) maybe it's because it's too hard for them to scoop, but suddenly this store is making very, very small scoops; (3) for years this place has had a really bad smell that hits you when you walk in (I think it smells like dirty diapers but my friend thought is was rotted ice cream). Verdict: Go to Santa Barbara's local ice cream place and pay more for a significantly larger size scoop on a cone. read more
