If you're craving ice cream, this is it! Saw a little sign posted on the sidewalk and decided to walk in to try their ice cream. We were greeted and warmly welcomed. The gentleman gave wonderful suggestions. We decided on cookies and cream and he worked his magic right there! It was pretty cool seeing the process of the rolled ice cream. We decided on Cookies and Cream with moderate whipped cream even though I could have a had en entire cup of that alone too. Best freshly made tasting ice cream we've had in all of Santa Barbara! I'm always on the look out for good ice cream. This wasn't overly sweet, had a creamy & velvety texture that made each bite taste better than the last. Small and clean spot with ample seating outside. It was worth taking the stroll down here from State Street. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more

Rolled ice cream was one of the most positive experiences I've ever had at a ice cream shop. Firstly, the ice cream is very delectable. Secondly I got to personally meet the owner and a staff member. This place is located in Paseo Nuevo near Oakberry. There is plenty of seating outside and underground parking for a quick walk up. The staff were super friendly and greeted me as I walked in. I chose one of the weekly specials and watched them make my order. There was a good amount of ice cream used and it tasted delicious. I also liked the toppings provided but skipped the whipped cream. Great little spot for Rolled Ice Cream! If you're walking down State St. you'll miss it as the shop is tucked in the Paseo Nuevo shopping center. Ice cream is delicious, the texture is light and refreshing. They rotate their flavors we tried the Vanilla and the Dubai Pistachio Chocolate- so delicious! My family and I were in Santa Barbara (visiting from Los Angeles), so we thought we'd try something new. Rolld seemed interesting, so we drove down to State street, parked and went to the shop. The concept was cool, but we thought it was just okay. My son got the cookies in cream, my wife got the vanilla sweet, and I got the salted cream and cookies. I found this place when I was with my family in Santa Barbara when I was looking for Ice cream and I love rolled Ice cream so I thought this place would be great. However the food was amazing after the 30 minute wait. We were the fourth person in line, and there was one person working and it took that long. On busy days, you should have more than one person working on a busy day. Today, they only had one person working which is unexpectable. The person working was very nice, and the food was great but the 30 minute wait was unexpectable and you can't have on person working on weekends. read more

This is the first time I have had rolled ice cream. I love how its made fresh and has the flavor and add ins I like. It is not like cold stone where the ice cream is already made. It gets melty as they mix in. This ice cream is made into thin rolled strips and it stays frozen and firm while you eat. I had coffee flavor with crumbled cookie and brownie in it. It was salty sweet and yummy. I recommend you try this place. Its tucked in the corner of eatery walk off of state street, perfect for a treat after lunch or dinner. read more

Its a small place so if there's other customers, it may take a while. However, the guys behind the counter greeted us and made small talk while we waited so we didn't feel like we were being ignored. The ice cream itself was delicious. We got Cookies and Cream (regular flavor) and Strawberry Shortcake (one of their rotating flavors). Both were great and we were all very happy. We drove 90 min to Santa Barbara needing a day away after a month of family emergencies and we went to state street in Santa Barbara ... and happened to be really want some ice cream. We walked down a pathway and the employee was standing outside Rolld asking if we wanted a treat. My nieces have never tried the rolled iced cream but I have and I knew they'd enjoy it. I ordered the strawberry shortcake and my nieces tried the vanilla sweet cream, both were super refreshing and delicious. I liked how they had unlimited toppings for kids. They also had dog friendly treats. There were several outside tables and benches for dining. The service was very quick. The pistachio ice cream tasted like eating straight pistachios and there were plenty of real pistachio chunks. The bad: The interior is tiny and is only for ordering. The texture of the honey ice cream was runnier and had icy chunks. The honey flavor was really strong and tasted like I was eating just pure honey. That sounds nice but it was a bit too much. I wish the texture was a little bit more chewy and the flavor a bit less sweet. I didn't taste the black pepper in the pistachio ice cream. The interesting: They have another location in the Public Market food hall as well.
