I love this Starbucks. It's all student workers and every person I have encountered has had the biggest smile on their face. They are all so kind. My drink is made correctly most of the time and if not they have no trouble fixing it with quickness. Lines get long but remember it's a college campus so students are getting their coffee fix. My go too and so convenient.

Bacon Gouda Egg sandwich, minus the egg. (I asked for no cheese, not "no egg.")

This Starbucks location has great potential, but the employees feel rushed when preparing orders of food and drink. I went into Starbucks this morning, about 8:20 AM; it was somewhat busy, but they weren't taking online mobile orders. I ordered my usual: Two Bacon Gouda Egg sandwiches without the cheese and a Venti Hot Chocolate. I'm fine waiting for a product if it's of high quality. I waited around ten minutes, no biggie. I received my order and left to go to my class. While waiting for class to start, I took a sip of my "hot chocolate" and it tasted like coffee. A few more sips in, I realized it was a hot mocha. I went to grab a bite of my sandwiches and they felt hollower than usual; I checked in between the bread slices to find no egg. No egg! I asked for "no cheese," not "no egg." Egg is the protein! I was not given a receipt with this order; I paid with my debit card, not the mobile app. I didn't go back to complain because, as I said, they were busy, it might've taken too long, and I needed to get to class. What a bummer! Tip: if the workers feel they need to rush orders, tell them quality over quantity. I'd rather have orders come out slowly but accurately than fast but inaccurate.

This is the day to be remembered. A day that doesn't compare to other days here, at SJSU Starbucks. I have been blessed today with kind consideration from Starbuck workers. After many visits of getting the same exact drink from the beginning of the semester 'till now. I have been called Anne, Sammy, Standy, and even Mai.. Understanding the lack of racial bias training within Starbucks train, I kept quiet and stayed with those names throughout the days. However, today marks a very special day.. I ordered my drink and told the cashier my name. Then, I sat down on the couch to wait. Later, I heard this female voice calling out a name. It sounded like my name but I was unsure. I wasn't use to this...It felt weird. "Sandy!" the Starbuck worker called out again. Surprised and confused I was.. Is it true? Is today the day they got my name correct? With excitement, I ran to get my drink. Once there, with one hand- I held my cup, raised it up in the air, and screamed, "I AM SANDY!"

This is a new Starbucks location that offers good customer service, plenty of interior and exterior seating, and decent coffee that is constantly improving with each visit. What I love most about this location -- aside from the Caffe Mocha and Chocolate Danish ($2.75) I usually get -- is the massive store interior, as well as the backdoor that leads into the 3-story staircase. In the staircase area, there's many different chairs and tables surrounding an urban landscape. Also, if you're able to snag a table in the staircase area, you'll notice how quiet it is; it's one of the quietest places on campus (great for studying), aside from the library. Furthermore, while this Starbucks location originally served terrible coffee during the first month it opened, the staff has really stepped their game up during my most recent visits. I'll definitely return in the near future.

Tall Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino (04/27/2016) Ugh, this was watery.

Being a San Jose State University student, I'm ecstatic that there's a Starbucks on campus! It also helps that Dining Dollars for meal plan holders are accepted. The problem is even after being open for a month or so, there are times the quality of the beverages is not up to par. I have only ordered the Double Chocolaty Chip and Strawberries & Creme Frappuccinos so the previous statement only applies to those two drinks. I also only go during the afternoon hours so I do not have an opinion on Starbucks in the morning. When the lines are long during the weekdays Mondays through Thursdays and around 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., the consistency of the frappuccinos is off where one day it can taste okay, the next day up to half of the drink is ice. The worst Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino I had was when it felt like drinking a smoothie rather than a frappuccino. The entire drink was over-blended. The worker must have been inexperienced and new as I noticed (while waiting for my order) one of her coworkers was giving her verbal instructions on making it. If you want consistent quality, my recommendation is going around 5:30 p.m. or later any day. The Starbucks location itself is a good hangout spot. There are various tables and comfortable chairs to lounge around, enjoy your Starbucks coffee and/or snacks, or just to catch up on school- or work-related activities. The only improvement I would like is to provide warm and brighter lighting as it is just dim, white light. Nonetheless, I love hanging out at the campus Starbucks. Overall, this is a 4 (technically 3.5) out of 5 for now until further improvements on the drink quality and lighting occur.

Day Two: Not fully-filled Venti White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino

This Starbucks at the Student Union has got to be one of the worst Starbucks in the Bay Area! Just a warning, be prepared to wait for at least half an hour. I went for two straight days, and those two days were the most unpleasant experience. Let's start with day one: Walking from my biology class, I was walking on a scorching hot afternoon. Considering my pickiness and my already bad mood, I thought of going to Starbucks to get a refreshing drink, along with a friend that asked me to order a frappuccino. By the time I entered the Starbucks building, there was a long line, which, as mentioned earlier, took me about 30 minutes to barely order my drinks. Which much decency, I wanted to give them another chance by allowing them to make those drinks. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The person who ordered after me got their drink first, which, for me, was very unfair! I ordered two drinks: a venti Very Berry Hibiscus with two Raw Sugar Bags and a venti Coffee Frappuccino with an extra shot. Nothing more, nothing less. By the time I gave my order to the lady at the register, she had trouble inputting my drinks to add the total pricing but I gave my patience. What was very displeasing was how they did not accept my Starbucks Rewards Card! Unfortunately, my spending on this went down the drain. Furthermore, by the time I received my order, I was very displeased about the quality of the drinks. My Very Berry Hibiscus tasted watered-down and had no sweetness. I was so confused about this because they already added the raw sugar bags into the drink. I threw my drink away after I drank a quarter of it. The Coffee Frappuccino, however, was worse than I thought. The bitterness and sweetness part of the drink were separated, physically (Day One Picture)! You may say, "a frappuccino drink is blended, though..." I said to myself the same and I, to this day, still do not understand how a blended frappuccino separates unless the drink was left on the table for a while, but that drink was five minutes after we got it. Concluding day one, it was the most horrible experience, not just in Starbucks, but all the establishments I have gone to! Day Two: My friend convinced me to come back and see if they could redeem themselves and I was definitely opened-minded about giving them another chance. I did not expect so much from this Starbucks due to my previous experience. During this day's visit, they definitely did not catch my eyes on redeeming their reputation for me. I ordered a simple Venti White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino with light ice. And, again, it took me 30 minutes to barely order my one drink. Something different about today: they accepted my Starbucks Rewards Card, along with my question on why they did not accept my Starbucks Rewards Card. They stated that the register was broken and, unfortunately, I had to spend my cash on day one but at least I got to use my Starbucks Rewards on this day. The drink was not up to my standards. My drinks, along with everyone else's drinks, were not filled up all the way (Day 2 Picture)! This was definitely not worth my money nor my time! I will be sure to not come back ever, to not wait for a long period of time to receive a low-quality drink. I definitely recommend going to the one on 1st Street, which is waling-distance from the San Jose State University.

This is more than the average amount of ice that should be in an iced drink

There were a few other tables of people with their laptops out, and I was excited to see that they have expanded since my last visit and added more seating for customers. The lotus milk tea is still one of my favorites in the whole city. We sat at a table so there was no outlet, but I can't remember if there were outlets along the walls for the booth seating. The WiFi worked well and if there was background music it was not being blasted loudly. I would definitely keep this spot top of mind if I needed a reliable spot to work remote again, especially since there is now more seating than there used to be. Jovanna has such an amazingly kind and effervescent personality. Seeing the staff really brightens my day before I even have my first sip of coffee! Gabbie is super fun to chat with and knowledgeable, too. Literally everyone, from top to bottom, is a nice person who's passionate about the fine drinks they produce. It really warms my heart when people show a great amount of care and respect for their craft. I was a coffee noob a few months ago, and have received an amazing education from the team. I really just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Keep doing right by your customers and your products. 5/5, no notes! P.S. The Guatemala-origin coffee is crazy amazing. Where else can you find that type of commitment to excellence?!
