First off my barista, some again guy w glasses, gave me my drink w expired shots. I've never had my Starbucks double shot taste so burnt. Second, he was on his phone while on bar, in front of customers, while making my drink. Before he took his phone out he looked up to see if anyone important (manager, shift) was around so he wouldn't get in trouble. Third, he poured out at least half a shot into the sink after pouring my drink into the cup when there was clearly still room in it. Mind you, I worked at Starbucks for 4 years, I pay attention to detail when I get my drinks from there. I've been going to this Starbucks for over a year now and realized I haven't written a review yet. Very rude of me! Coffee and food can be found in every Starbucks but the big difference maker is the staff at this Bayhill Store. They are always friendly and this is why I frequent this store. Being in San Bruno, I have 3 more stores I can choose to go to but I go out of my way to get to this place. This store, like most Starbucks, always gets a rush of people (in the most random times of the day I might add) and they get thru the order line and pick up queue pretty quickly and efficiently. From the Manager, Luke, down to the supervisors, Alicia, Taylor, Berni and every barista whom I don't want to list for I am afraid I may forget one or two (you know who you all are) I come to experience their great service on every visit. I went to Starbucks last night to pick up a treat for my niece and nephew. They were being really well behaved. I told them I would grab them some hot chocolates. I also went to pick up a new mug for work. I was washing mine the other day and it slipped out of my hand and broke. I was practically the only on there ordering, the rest of the people appeared to be students studying. I stood there looking at a bunch of mugs not able to make up my mind, when a really nice lady, who worked there, came up to me and started showing me different cups. She made comment that she noticed that some of the ones I was checking out weren't really masculine enough. Don't know what that means. We ended up settling on a mug, more expensive than the clearance ones I was originally looking at, and ordered the drinks for the kids as well as a Grande Toffee Nut Latte for myself. The same woman that helped me pick up the mug was also making the drinks. We ended up chatting about the Giants and the World Series. I was impressed with how personable the woman was, and how helpful. I feel bad that I didn't catch her name. She did make the experience very pleasant and worth the drive down the hill. read more

This Starbucks sucks- their employees don't even acknowledge the customers are slow as hell and their lobby is always disgusting.

I've been going to this Starbucks on a regular basis and I can say it's as good as the best of them. However somethings have to be taken into consideration and what many should be aware of with this location. This SB is consistently busy. If you like to go to a Starbucks with your laptop and like a more empty store--this is not one of those stores. I've been here at different times during the day and almost always are all the seats taken up. The space itself here is bigger than the average SB so it says something that the seats are almost all taken up a lot of times. So if you like people watching though, this spot wont disappoint. With that said, expect lines or a wait so be warned if you are in a rush. Even with mobile order--time it properly to give yourself ample time and the crowd factor. Despite the crowds, the staff keeps it moving. It's not ever really backed up, but don't expect that your drink is the next one to be made as there are a few always ahead. WIFI is good, staff is nice. I have to add, I'm speaking of weekdays. I haven't been here on a weekend and it MIGHT be slower. This SB is right next to Google/Youtube offices and other corporate buildings thus the reason for constant foot traffic. read more

I've given this place several chances to improve but sadly the customer service and turnover rate with the employees is getting out of hand. They can never get one order correct. God forbid you order more than 1 drink and expect it to be on time. This morning I placed my order 15 minutes early to go in and wait! Its so dirty inside. Also i like that there was no one in line/ar cashiers (but did wait a little bit, but I was able order my drink and get my drink quick This Starbucks is spacious. Have music in the background. There's sofa. A lot people use their laptop for leisure time or to study. But it's a good place to hang out with your friends to catch up too. I was at starbucks a few days ago. I witnessed the incident with the 1 star review before me. This man was standing at the drink counter with his mask off. All the other guests with their masks off were sitting down yes but they were eating or drinking this man was just standing there indoors with the mask off waiting for his drink. The woman working asked him to please put his mask on he then began to record her and called her a bitch. But i guess he forgot to leave that part out of his review. Great experience at this starbucks! The staff were all very nice and following all safety protocols. There was something wrong with my drink and they fixed it with no problem! I ordered the cold brew with oat milk cinnamon foam, and it tasted like a breakfast oatmeal combined with coffee which was delicious! read more

Since the remodel a few months ago, this Starbucks has to be among the largest in the Bay Area. They doubled the seating area and now seats at least 80 without even squeezing. It is loud and the lack of any fabric on the wall treatments does not help. The barista area even has tiles so everything they say just resonates throughout the space. Too bad it's not opened 24 hours like the other Starbucks in San Bruno. They close at 10:30 pm. I'm sure this place will be filled all the time if they stayed open but there must be some kind of restriction by the Bayhill mall where they are located. They have a computer bar that seats 16 with outlets under the bar. Edit: Dec 2011. The wifi at this store has slowed to the point of being unusable. This is based on testing from many visits with varying number of people online. I consistently get faster access using my ancient phone to connect. read more

UPDATE: The once decent Starbucks to visit also going downhill like their other stores. This specific location had good professional people working before. (refer to previous review) Today, a Monday 6:15 p.m. visit, it is the typical Starbucks; white T-shirt, baseball cap, gold chain wearing barista dancing to his own loud music on a bluetooth speaker from behind the counter. On a number of occasions the gold chain barista together with the two young lady baristas huddle around whispering and giggling while looking at customers. Haven't seen anyone clean the overflowing trash on the condiments bar. Starbucks in general always suffered from inconsistencies with their stores. Been here twice now at different times and in my entire life I have never waited so long for coffee or breakfast sandwiches. The couple in front of me ordered the identical sandwich and got it 5 minutes ahead of me. Great service, the crew are both helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. I have been here on good days and bad, yet the crew always strives to keep positive and pleasant. The environment is inviting, usually quiet, clean, and well laid out. Store displays are intriguing without being in the way. The furniture is placed in a manner that allows intimate interaction and open to foot traffic. Bonus,.. this store has 2 restrooms. Starbucks' pricing may be up there, but this location's service makes it a great experience. Downsides you ask? They close too early,... for this night owl. So disappointed. I ordered a turkey pastrami sandwich through the mobile app. Thought the app was pretty good. It tracked my location and said my order was going to be ready before I got there. It would take 1-4 minutes for my order but take me 6 minutes to get there. Cool, but I ordered anyway. To my dismay, I got there and waited like 5 minutes for my mobile order. None. I then asked. I couldn't ask the barista that was making drinks. She was running ragged. The cashier had a line of 12 people. I finally said excuse me, can I ask you a question (3 times) to a person cleaning the bakery shelf and windows. So, she checked and printed out the little white label. She then came to me and said they ran out of turkey pastrami sandwiches and asked if I would like a refund or something else. I said a refund, then thought, I didn't want to go to another Starbucks. I was thinking the Starbucks BINGO game, three days in a roll. So, I got vanilla scones. I was told it was out, so I asked what they had. It was frustrating when there was nothing on the shelves. She was cleaning. Then, I asked pumpkin scone? But, the person found the vanilla scones. Okay, bought the vanilla scones, but really didn't want them. I wanted a sandwich for dinner. Staff told me that they would not know who ordered an item that was not available. The customer would have to ask. Maybe, just maybe there could be a bag with my name on it with nothing in it. That would tell me to ask rather think the service was behind schedule. Management should rethink staffing coverage. They should also reiterate to change online ordering availability when items are depleted. I know there is a bottom line, but isn't customer service important anymore? Most of the baristas can't even pour a simple cup of coffee correctly, I can only imagine what they do with espresso drinks. They are slow to the point that I refuse to wait in line if there are more than 2 people ahead of me. Their outside chairs seem to be made from recycled tin cans and some are even covered in pigeon poop. There is not a single outdoor table that doesn't rock back and forth because the legs have loosened up. The music is lame just like every other starbucks. Your milk choices are nonfat or half & half. We all know Starbucks is not the best place to grab coffee, but they do have decent coffee and this location is actually one Starbucks where you can sit, hang and enjoy your beverage. I like going here if I want to meet up with friends or if I want to sit and enjoy my coffee. For some reason though, the baristas here cannot make drinks. I thought it was the one time, but no, my drinks never come out right. We like the Espresso Truffle and its supposed to be a sweet drink, not bitter. Same with the Caramel Macchiato, the coffee taste burnt and not at all what its supposed to taste like. Others have said the same thing too, so I know it's not just me. This Starbucks location has gone way south for me. Partly to blame I think are the new employees - half of the original people that used to make this place rock are all gone! They've been replaced by vacant eyed, bland but polite staff who take forever to make the drinks. Once I even received a drink NOT made with soy milk but instead regular milk and I spent the afternoon throwing up. PAY ATTENTION TO CUSTOMER ORDERS! The only team member worth mentioning is John who I still see every now and then. And yes he still makes the best coffee drinks. Ive had a few issues here before but with each new crew that comes in I begin to question myself. Tonite was my final visit. I tried to order a drink from their "secret menu" & was told they didnt know how to make it.. Somehow I dont find that feasible? They suggested I could pull up the recipe & they could make it but in the world of customer service shouldnt they have offered to look it up? I am not a huge fan of Starbucks, but like many people go to it because it's convenient and they offer some sense of consistency. In addition, I give it 4 stars because of its service not necessarily because of the coffee being extra good. Iwould offer the quality of the brews here at 3 stars. Coffee: I normally get the iced coffee, tall brewed (hot) coffee, non-fat lattes, and chai lattes. I've also had several of the fraps here including java chip and green tea. It is consistent and decent coffee. Pricing: I've been getting the "3.95" pairing- meaning the tall latte with a coffee cake or the coffee (iced or hot/tall) with a half a sandwich. I usually get the tall latte (iced) with the coffee cake. Good value. Service: The staff here are nice and if you are a regular they tend to remember your drinks as well. They are also nice in that when they have an extra shot left, they sometimes ask me if I want it since they would dump it anyways. In addition, they don't shy away from customization of my drinks either. I appreciate that about this Starbucks because it seems to have been lost at some of the other ones that I've been to in the area. Very good service, attentive, and will not hesitate to re-do your drink (I've never had them redo mine, but have seen countless times the staff doing it for others without any questions asked!). Parking: Free lot parking. Lots of ample parking. Ambiance: Can be cleaner - a 3 star for cleanliness. A 4 star for ample room and of course the rollout of free 2 hour wireless with a "registered" Starbucks card which can be done for free. there's also outside seating space though I don't recommend it due to the close proximity of cars with the seating area. Location: Convenient and right off o the 280 freeway. A short (less than 1 mile) from the 101/380 entrance as well. Opening Hours: NOT 24 hours though the other Starbucks nearby in the lot with best buy is 24 hrs. Payment: Takes major credit cards and cash. read more
