I love Starbucks as much as many millions of other people do. I've been to literally hundreds of Starbucks all across the USA, Europe and Asia as a matter of fact. This review isn't about Starbucks as much as it is about the disorganized mess this particular store turns into during anything that even resembles a rush. Get more than four people in line and this place falls apart. As someone that deals intimately with corporate procedure and compliance the problem with this place is the blatant disregard for any procedure that Starbucks assuredly has to have to deal with a large customer flow. In the mornings, more often than not, the line is out of the door more than 20-25+ deep with quite a few walking up and saying WTF and leaving. A large part of the reason it is so, is because of the "ad hoc on the fly methods" deployed by a leaderless and chaotic crew. I'm willing to bet nowhere in the Starbucks manual or training do they advent for a person to query ten deep and yell the orders back at the line like we're in a Waffle House restaurant. The result is a totally confused employee doing their best to bag up multiple items from the pastry case and getting it to the right person in line. A few times I've seen people doing the "bag exchange" with each other at the register slowing things down even more. Why ask our names if the people operating the machine calls out what the drink is instead of the names? With more than 10-12 people anxiously awaiting, why call out I got " I got a Venti Americano with Room"....or "Grande Red Eye Express". Inevitably people are grabbing the wrong drinks, again creating more work and slow down. Furthermore, why place the two slowest people in the place on the machines during morning rush when anyone who's been here knows there are three girls that run circles around the two guys in the morning. Yes "Big Guy" I'm talking about you. You're slower than Christmas, please stay on the register. Why have the three fastest people on register or restocking the cream bar? Speaking of the cream bar, I realize whatever assemblance of management runs this place is trying to save on food cost, but only putting white sugar on one side of the bar results in a higher usage because people reach over, grab a handful and trash the left over. Starbucks corporate, if you're reading this then do us all a favor and either get someone with high volume experience in here or open another one next door! I seriously doubt you're capturing 60% of the people that want to patronize this Starbucks between 7:00 and 10:00 am due to inefficiency. read more

It's like a kiss on my forehead from a loved one who's passed away. It's less than a mile from work, how convenient. It's like the powers that be told me it was okay to work here, there was a Starbucks and a Jamba Juice within 1 mile. That is a huge plus. Also there is always parking in this lot. Another huge plus. Thirdly, I know what to expect here menu wise, it's very low brain activity for me, which sometimes at 7am or after looking at a computer screen for 2 hours, I need something with low thought processes. This works. On the negative side, there is a line more often than not. You would think that in San Bruno, in the middle of the day, people are working. But no they are not. They are all at freakin' Starbucks. Or they are like me and trying to escape for 20 minutes from their jobs. Also sometimes the staff is on top of it, sometimes they seem more sleep deprived than me. I guess since I'm coming here to escape my job, and get a break, I shouldn't complain about them probably needing a break too. Oh well. At least it's here, and I can always rely on it to be open and there when I need it. THANK GOODNESS. read more

I'm a total fan of this Starbucks! :) I hadn't gone here in months until I met up with a classmate to work on a paper. That's when I saw the renovation. Very nice! I'm impressed. There's plenty of tables. Plus, there's a laptop bar with outlets underneath. Arrive early if you're trying to get a table. Sometimes I've gotten lucky. But I really do like this Starbucks for studying. I've been able to get lots of work done here. The line gets super long at times. You just have to catch it at the "right time." Employees are nice. LOVE that it's located in a plaza because there's plenty of parking too. Also, it's located right off the freeway, so it's easy access. I'll definitely be back at this Starbucks..especially when I need to study/get work done. read more

Clover machine! YAY! I love watching that thing in action. The staff is nice most of the time - kind of snooty but I guess you have to be if the majority of the patrons are corporate monkeys with God complexes. When in Rome. After the remodel, this location has become one of my favorite Starbucks to grab some coffee or study. They have comfy chairs, plenty of tables, and a nice environment that is not too loud. The last time I came here, I had ordered a Venti Hot Chocolate to take home. However, when I received my drink, it was a Tall. When I mentioned their mistake, they immediately made me another Venti and let me keep the Tall. Excellent customer service! read more

This starbucks is very roomy, and my drinks are always made right. :-) As for the woman who posted below me, the manager is not a bitch to her employees, and usually there are two half and halfs at the condiment bar. If there wasn't one at the one you went to, you could've moseyed on over to the other bar. She was probably just making sure that there wasn't another one. read more

I came here to study, there are quite a few seats. There are noises but not loud enough to a point to leave. Everyone there are usually studying, so it's a good atmosphere to get things done. When I bought a Mocha, they offered a free pastry, that was their special when I was there around 2:30 on a Saturday. After a while, I guess they didn't give away all the free ones with Mocha, they walked around giving it like free samples. That was great! :) I will be coming back here to study often. read more

I love this Starbucks. It's just a little too cold for me. Everyone had a jacket on in here, which says it's not just me. The place is big and comfy. Different style seats. I hate sitting on a hard seat for hours. I was in there working for quite a few hours. It has different style seats, cushion benches, tall tables, a counter style area, comfy leather chair, regular tables and chairs and a little room that's a little isolated from noise where it seems a lot of people work. Please save yourself the hassle and go to a different Starbucks. Avoid this one at all cost. They always mess up the drinks. It's if their staff does not know how to make the drinks. The Walmart and YouTube headquarters are across the street so this Starbucks gets very busy during the times you'd expect (845am and lunchtime). However even when I stop in around lunch they are very efficient at making drinks and I can usually find a table inside - if I can't then I'll almost always be able to grab one of the few outside seats. Starbucks coffee has a love hate reputation with people. I like it. Its a business and its captured a niche market. I think that's great and I"ll pay for the products. This particular location in Bayhill was a life saver for me when I was working across the street. I would stop off and pick up a mocha before entering the office. When I stopped drinking coffee I would go here for a hot coco on occasion. Its a big store with lots of seating. Their customer service is good too. My ex coworker bought a metal mug their and later on the handle fell off after washing. She brought it back without the receipt and they replaced it with no questions. read more

It's a Starbucks--consistent with the others... Overpriced, but OK espresso drinks, friendly service, didn't mess up order... This one has more seating than most... table, bench, lounge chair, even a "laptop bar"... plenty of power sockets, and decent wi-fi. Worst Starbucks location ever. I will drive miles out of the way to avoid going to this location. Bad experience #1- cashier charged me for vanilla syrup and soy milk in my iced coffee. They shouldn't charge for either (at least in the iced coffees). The cashier told me that they usually don't charge me because they are "just being nice". Okay, whatever... I just paid the extra $1-something. Bad experience #2- their soy milk went bad and I overheard them refusing to serve it to the customer in front of me because they were concerned it might make him sick. They served it to me. I refused to take it and they didn't even offer me another drink. I asked to speak to the manager who came over and then dismissed me to disappear into the back. They gave me a $4 free drink card for the "inconvenience". When I was leaving I could hear them talking about me. Best part- the $4 free drink card didn't work when I went to the location near my house! Slowest service ever, drinks are mediocre in comparison to other locations, terrible customer service (generalizing based on 2 crappy experiences), and overall just a messy, dirty location. read more

Delayed update: after my experience I received a msg from the store manager apologizing stating that he wanted to amen the situation. I replied back via email and never heard back. The initial gesture of reaching out was nice. However, for me to spend the time to reply, only to be ignored just contributes to the horrible experience. I hope my fellow consumers don't have to deal with this type of situation very often. A cup of coffee should be an improvement to your day. read more

I wanted to try the new toasted graham latte, which I would not recommend btw...way too sweet...didn't taste any of the graham cracker flavor...I prefer a soy or regular latte or even the PSL...basic I know. Anyhow, the baristas/workers at this Starbucks are hilarious! Whoever the guy was that took my order/joked with me about loading $15,000 onto my rewards account/reaching my credit limit of $10,000 totally made my night. Nice thing about this Starbucks location is the size. Tons of table space and outlets. Another plus is that since its in a plaza, there's plenty of food options if you want to take a break from doing work and grab lunch/dinner. Thanks for starting my morning off right! I seem to be experiencing a streak of bad customer service lately - the worst being at Philz in Westborough. But the customer service at this Starbucks location was pleasant, efficient and thorough. "Is there anything else you'd like to order?" Sure, that seems like a common sense type question but I can't begin to tell you how many places fail to ask (it's especially frustrating when you're ordering multiple items). Some places just wanna hustle you to the cash register -- and you DO NOT want to do that when the patron hasn't had his/her morning cup! The ambience here is great too. In general, Starbucks locations are starting to look like real dumps. Not this place. And with the recent renovation, the place is clean, fresh and modern. read more

Love this location. This place is quite big and suitable to stay long. I used to go there to study like a lot others do (somehow almost all of them seemed to be trying to be in the healthcare field including me). Sometimes this place gets too crowded and it's hard to find a seat since lots of them tend to stay long to study, but still I like this place. read more

I always enjoy coming to this Starbucks. It is pretty big so I usually don't have a problem finding a place to sit and work with my laptop. The baristas are always very friendly and I know what to expect from the coffee. I don't go too often anymore since I live a little farther away, but I still visit every once in a while. The reason I'm writing today is because I just found out that Starbucks bought La Boulange a couple months ago (for $100M) AND as of yesterday, this location now sells La Boulange pastries! I was so excited because this location is closer to me than the La Boulange in Burlingame. I guess I will be coming here more frequently. read more

Selection of grab and good foods is good, clean and roomy inside and out. I always try giving this location a chance...always fails!!!! There's no point in ordering ahead (Mobile orders) as the order is NEVER ready within the quoted time. The baristas are rude, slow, and lazy! For those that enjoy add-ins to their drinks, cross your fingers. Usually the baristas pay so little attention to the order details, the add-ins are completely ignored. Baristas move like molasses, no sense of urgency. So imagine waiting 18 min after a 6 min quoted time (mobile orders) for a herbal tea with Splenda, to finally receive your drink and it's completely wrong with NO Splenda. Unfortunately we had a bad experience at this location. The guy that took our order appeared bored with his head leaning on his hand on the counter. Never greeting us like all other stores do. He took our order, I had to load funds on our account, he said no problem, take your time which was great. We received our coffees and stood waiting for our food. The gals in the corner responsible for heating our food were chatting while our food sat, not in process. When the warmer timer went off they opened the door, continuing to chat. I approached the gals and said we were waiting on our food and could they please give it to us. The cashier said from the side of me...yeah like 5 minutes...very rude and sarcastic. I've never experienced anything like this from a customer service provider. Won't be back, that's for sure. read more

Great atmosphere for studying. Whoever put in the laptop bar is a genius. Wifi can be slow sometimes, but hey, sometimes the internet is a source of distraction. Close to the Youtube HQ/other office buildings so it can get a little crowded but it's a big place (probably one of the largest Starbucks I've been to). There are high tables, a lap top bar (with plugs underneath), a comfy chair area... there's also an area with normal tables and then, my favorite, an area of tables tucked into the back corner - that's usually where I like to study. After the remodel, this has become my favorite starbucks to visit. There are plenty of outlets and places to sit, making it a much better option than the 24hr starbucks in san bruno. It is always clean and never really jam packed like the starbucks in towne center or laurel village. Parking is very easy and if you are looking for a bite to eat, theres a mollie stones and a few other restaurants in the area. All the standards like free wifi, good drinks/pastries, and smelling like starbucks when you leave are all present and accounted for here. read more

I always stop by here and get my usual triple tall vanilla hazelnut latte (2 pumps each) when ever I drop off my wife at her work. What is weird is that, even though I don't come here all that often, the same barista always makes my drink. And, again, even though I don't come here to often, he knows my name and my drink.
