Starbucks is a special treat for me because it's a little out of my budget, so it's disappointing. I'll still drink the majority of it since I have nothing else and don't want to waste my money. I have another Starbucks I like but its further away from my job and I saw this was closer. Though it didn't have the best rating, I gave it a shot. So I guess it's a little on me for ignoring this location's rating. Overall still not the worst experience I've had at a coffee place though.

I witnessed a pair of customers had to switch tables because too many yellow jackets had entered the cafe through a crack-in-the-walls and were flying in the window-area (poor maintenance management, I guess). Elder ladies (managers possibly) will come out and question you if you are the only non-employee seated in the cafe. One elder employee suggested I go use the Starbucks WiFi out in my car while no other customers were in the cafe, citing it is what customers used-to-do during COVID. I actually considered this for a second to not be such a bad idea with the yellow-jackets being permitted entry through a crack in the walls & sticky tables provided for the customers. She stated one of her co-workers had seen me before and disliked the amount of time I spent working at a cafe table after having ordered so little. I never had come across a Starbucks like this before...and I've visited a lot of them throughout Chicagoland and the suburbs. Do these Crown Point Starbuck's managers dislike their job so much they focus more on rushing the customers out versus making them feel welcome? The manager even approached straight away with a "Were you going to order anything?" rather than a "How are you doing today?"...And take note, this was Labor Day with an empty (or practically empty) cafe. Aren't we supposed to be focusing more on respecting the labor each fellow citizen puts towards their work rather than creating complaints to place upon others? Maybe this Crown Point location is one of the few with grumpy managers? Very few customers used the seats like I normally see in other local Starbucks locations. Amount of foods/snacks availabe inside the glass display area was the lowest I have seen in any Starbucks and did not appear fresh. I had not eaten breakfast that morning, and while being super-hungry still couldn't curb my appetite towards their 4-day old food. Maybe regional managers who are supposed to be monitoring the local managers can explain this? Considering the rapid growth of houses and neighborhoods in Crown Point, I hope the corporates can clean the mess the grumpy managers can't before losing a large population of potential customers. This Crown Point Starbucks being the only Starbucks I have visited with yellow-jackets sneaking in through cracks nearby the windows, sticky-tables which apparently are not washed with soap, and inconsiderate staff on governmental holidays makes a statement to the Crown Point public the amount of respect Starbucks has for its local citizens.

After about 20min, I asked how long because I didn't want to be late to work. She asked me what I ordered and since it was just a simple grande coldbrew... she did a quick pour so I could get out the door. It was like watching triage surrounded by very impatient people, and they didn't blink an eye or stop. Things are weird now along with so much uncertainty. But we still get to go to Starbucks. Several staff members always greet you when you walk in the door, whether it's calm or busy. The interior is very open and has high ceilings, not intimate, and has tons of windows, kind of like an industrial loft. I like it. They do have a patio, for when it's nice out. I do love that they have Pride Flag hanging in the store. I will always patronize a business that is inclusive and supportive of equity and equality for marginalized communities. Definitely gonna keep coming back!
