As we all know, a business is not as much as good as the people who own it, as much as it is by the customer-facing people on the front lines. I arrived at Dulles Airport yesterday morning (a Saturday), totally dehydrated after a five-hour flight, sporting a 20-lb. backpack, and dragging almost 50 lbs. of luggage. By the time I got to Wiehle-Metro East station, I was out of gas, desperate for rehydration. I entered the Starbucks, couldn't find any water. (!) I asked the lady behind the counter if they had any water; she replied that they were cleaned out of water the previous evening, during a Bruce Springsteen concert. OK thanks, I said. I guess I must have looked a terrible sight, because she and her colleague immediately followed up by offering me a complimentary glass of water. These angels gave me about a pint of water, which I drank while sitting in the shade in front of the shop. It was, for me, a game-changer. So now, whenever I find myself at the Wiehle-Metro East Plaza, I'll be sure to stop by the Starbucks there. Thank you. read more

What I had for a snack was very tasty By The Way. The management and staff were very friendly, helpful, and informative. The last 2 times I was there there, I noticed that they had changed the doorknobs to the men's and ladies' restrooms. You are now required to punch in a security passcode in order to gain access. :( read more

6/11/19 Came in to get a straw, because I forgot to grab one at the gasoline station shop. The coffee shop is located at a decent spot right on top of the Reston Subway Station. This place is also located right by a residential building and office buildings. Imagine living a working right next to each other. This store has a nice set up where you can grab your coffee a d a snack before heading out to your place of work/business. If your truly lucky, you are a entrepreneur and own your own business. Drink some coffee and work from your notebook. The cheese danishes I had were delicious and are a weakness of mine. Especially if they are warmed up. Glad I saw this place, because the paper straw from Founding Farmers would have broken up by now. I will be back again. read more

I really like this location because it is convenient for Work and Home. However, I think that the employees need to understand the concept of call ahead ordering. If I place a call ahead order, and then 10 minutes later, go to the Starbucks to pick up my order and it's not ready yet, and then I wait in the store for an additional 10 minutes and the order is still not ready, then WTF is the point. Just sayin. read more

Since I missed breakfast, I needed to make a pit stop here, the only obvious choice at the station. Pretty small. But service is very good, there wasn't much of a line on a Sunday morning, selection was decent, and the prices, well, they were okay. I ordered a small mocha, because I don't like trying to figure out their sizes. I had one of their bacon-gruyere sandwiches to get me through to lunch. Small and overpriced, but, tasty. Grabbed a juice for the trip. If I lived nearby I would be back often. read more

Cute and conveniently located next to the Wiehle-Reston Metro station, plenty of seating and the Staff was friendly and quick. I could only spend a few minutes here, but enjoyed my iced latte immensely. It hit the spot, nice job! Clean bathrooms as well (although it's one room, no multiple stalls). read more

Had a great experience with the mobile ordering this morning at this Starbucks. The staff was super friendly even offering our dog a puppachino! Before Covid the staff at this Starbucks seemed to struggle and wasn't always friendly but today it was great and they were willing to make adjustments to my order. Really appreciated the girl greeting customers at the door to ask about your order- she was so friendly! read more

This Starbucks is attached to my apartment, so I'm there way too often. They've seen me hungover, they've seen me with no makeup on, they've seen me in my pajama pants. They probably think I'm pretty gross, but that's fine. To begin with, note that there IS free parking if you go into the metro parking garage and turn right where it says "BLVD." Right after you get your ticket, you'll see parking spaces labeled "retail," and you're allowed to park there for 2 hours without having to pay. In all fairness, I only know that because I live there. As for the drinks, it's hit or miss at this location with maybe a 25% miss rate. You can easily tell which employees came from another Starbucks when this one opened about 3 months ago, because the drinks they'll make for you won't suck. There are a few "beginners" who still haven't really nailed the art of making a Frappuccino. But, there are also the awesome employees who will humor you when you ask them to make an obnoxious off-menu concoction (caramel apple spice Frappuccino - do it), and they'll make it excellently. I won't rate Starbucks as a whole because Starbucks is what it is. As for this location, if you're at Wiehle-Reston and you want a nice 800 calorie beverage, why not. read more

Although mobile order via Starbucks app wasnt available on my visit (2nd day of opening) I really enjoyed my visit. Location: Reston Station Plaza is located directly above the Reston Station Metro Facility, providing easy access to the Wiehle-Reston Metro stop on the Silver Line. Parking: Unlike most Starbucks in the area this isn't convenient for drivers (with the exception of RTC which is also mainly walkable). There is validated parking for Starbucks customers. If you're on the metro or in walking distance then this was made for you! The driveway in front of this Starbucks says it's for "authorized vehicles only" or "residential pickup/drop off" only. If you park in the ParkX Garage in retail spaces will get two hours free. Inside: There were a few people with suitcases and plenty of people working. Also, since there are apartment communities here I found people really friendly and meeting their neighbors for the first time here! Working space: Awesome! There were plenty of chairs, tables, comfy benches, and standing room. Staff: Extremely friendly and helpful baristas. In and out within 5 minutes. read more

It's a Starbucks so you know what you're going to get. Visiting from out of town, it felt like stepping in to a Starbucks anywhere else in America with all the usual food and drinks. Spinach feta wrap and medium americano were just as ordered. If I lived here, the nearby metro would be super useful. read more

Typically this place in on point but today was quite a display. 8:30am on a Saturday 10/6, we order one drink and the barista is chit chatting with her friend, order comes out, still chit chatting, her friend goes "I can just show you later" noticing people waiting. This is the best part, then she waves her hand like whatever, they can wait. We sit there while she shuffled through her camera roll to find the right picture, finally finds it while the order has been sitting on the printer. The entire time she makes this order she's chatting, pausing to explain pictures to her friend, scrolling through one another's phone. I wish I had her name but she didn't have a name tag on. Thoroughly disappointed in the quality of workers people hire. Be like chic-fil-a!! read more

I came in around 8am on the 19th of June 2018. All I wanted was them to break my $20 bill. The cashier said I had to purchase something or she had to get the manager. I told her to get the manager. The Manager, Justin...said he didn't have the money to break a $20 bill which is a blatant lie when you run a Starbucks at a nice uppity area like Reston Virginia. I called the District Manager, Gina and explained to her what happened. She said that Justin the store manager at the time should have broken the $20 bill even if I wasn't purchasing anything. I must remind the readers this all happened after Starbucks closed down to train their employees on better service. I guess this location failed the training. read more

Service date: Sunday 3/8/2020. The service is super slow on the weekends at this location. I feel like I need to allow for an extra 15 minutes just to order a cup of coffee before I head into DC. I can't speak for the speed of service of service during the week, but if Mgmt is reading this review...people need to get places on the weekend too guys.... Great staff, located perfectly to grab a coffee before taking the metro into work everyday. Also nice for mid-afternoon coffee if you live in the apartments nearby. Have never had any problems and the make ahead orders are always ready quickly and made perfectly. read more

Wow. The three people we interacted with at this store have got to be among the most inept I've ever experienced at a coffee or food place in a long time. The cashier couldn't figure out how to ring up a double shot with a squirt of caramel and top it off with soy milk, so I ordered a double shot espresso and asked if they could add a splash of soy milk to it because you don't have soy milk on your cream and sugar bar. My husband ordered a grande chai latte with soy milk. We finally were able to pay and stood waiting for our drinks. I watched as the barista poured cow milk in to the cup for the chai latte, I stopped him before he frothed it and told him it was supposed to be soy, got an eye roll and watched him waste an entire cup of milk down the drain. He then filled up the cup with soy milk and proceeded to make my husbands drink. When it came to the double shot topped off with soy, there was again extreme confusion. So we finally got two shots of espresso in the cup and he asks me if I want it topped off with hot water. WOW. So I said, no soy milk please... he then poured the soy milk in to the same cup that just had cow milk in it and frothed it before pouring it over my drink. I smiled and took the drink walked outside and threw it in the trash can. When you have a customer that orders two non dairy drinks you need to make sure that's what you serve them. On top of the fact that we spent nearly $8 for two tiny cups of coffee and had to throw one away I was completely frustrated with the idiocy and carelessness of your staff. You would think with prices that high you could afford to hire employees that knew what they were doing. read more

I was beyond disappointed with the customer service and speed/efficiency or lack thereof by the employees. There was no line and possibly three or four drinks ahead of my order. I waited in the shop for about 15 minutes. I watched two employees just talk behind the line, while another was wiping down, and they had one gentlemen making drinks. To me it would seem logical to take care of all drinks before you chit chat or clean. To add to the issue, the ladies in front of me had a long wait and the gentlemen who was making the drinks, decided to give one of the ladies a larger size for the wait...yet I receive no complimentary upsize or anything of the sort or even an apology for the wait time. I am beyond frustrated and it set me back in my morning. Starbucks as a whole has lost their great customer service that led to customer loyalty. read more

Stopped by this morning for a coffee and to get a little work done on the laptop. The coffee was great but the internet at this place is awful. It's exceptionally slow. I can only partially load web pages. Next time I'll go all the way to D.C. before I stop for my coffee and internet. read more
