For some reason I have to say THANK YOU 3 TIMES for those female employees to say you're welcome. Being courteous is not hard but they make it hard. Had I said F you they would've heard me the 1st time. They need a customer service class or something because the manners don't click. The male employees always exude great customer service, but those females seem to be too privileged to tell customers you're welcome. Do better read more

This Starbucks has been here for a few years, but it was my first visit. It won't be my last. First off, it's a pretty large location to be situated downtown Norfolk. They have lots of seating and a good amount of space to wait on your food and/or beverage. The staff is super nice. I got my new fave - Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai...check it out. It's perfect for those who don't really care for the dairy (or dairy is not your friend if you catch what I'm saying). And I just learned you can get it hot! I'll have to try that out at another store!! The drink is sooo good, the customer in front of me ordered one and I got stopped on my way out to inquire what foaming goodness I had in my hand. The grilled cheese was disgusting. Bread literally soaked in butter. For over $7 it is not worth it at all.

I started my visit to Norfolk, VA with morning work at this Starbucks location. This Starbucks has a little different vibe. It has all the standard Starbucky faire that I love (coffee, crappy food, clean store, good wifi). The music was more upbeat and louder than I was expecting. Not so loud that you cannot talk. People could hear it through the phone. I saw a several people vibing along to the beats while waiting for their order. There were a bunch of small tables that were good for one person to get some work done, enjoy a coffee, or have a conversation. There were a few larger tables. There is some kind of enclosed room that I have not seen before at a Starbucks. Can that be used / rented for a meeting ? + This location had some nice touches. The normal chalk sign had a daily affirmation (I appreciate a little positivity). And there were a few house plants throughout the location. A nice addition to the familiar Starbucks look. - Unfortunately the service was painfully slow, perhaps new staff. It took a long time to get a black coffee and heated scone. read more

Small act of kindness made my week! Using my scan and pay app, I found I was short $1.92. The kind Starbucks counter barista paid the difference. I did go back with the difference to pay back, but the kindness, smile, and matter-of-fact attitude made such a great positive impression. Great Job! read more

LOL this morning, I came in pretty much as soon as they opened at 6a.m.; I was the 2nd customer here. About 20 minutes after I'm settled down, a dude walks in, sits down in the table next to me, sets up his laptop, buys a coffee and promptly knocks out. For those of you who don't know, as of mid-2018, Starbucks had a revision on the policy, no longer allowing customers to sleep inside the premises. Over the course of 30 minutes, 3 different Starbucks employees came over and repeatedly tried to wake the man but no joy; he was out cold. The final time, he would stir for a few seconds, open his eyes for a few seconds and then proceed to sleep. A few minutes later, EMT's and a Norfolk Police Officer arrived after being called by one of the staff. The EMT's and the Officer woke him up and questioned him for a few minutes, making sure he was alright and aware of where he was. And the Officer warned him that if she gets called in here again for him sleeping, he'll have to leave the premises. Overall, I just wanna commend how this situation was handled by the Starbucks staff! They were all very patient and professional and gave the guy lots of chances to fix himself, but to no avail. Calling the Police and the EMT's was the right decision; let them handle these situations. read more

Yes I am reviewing a Starbucks, because this location is my favorite one! This location stays busy no matter what time of day. And even during their busiest times, the baristas are hustling and bustling, knocking these orders out one by one. One occasion, in particular was during their BOGO promotions. That line was ridiculous. As I was waiting for my drink, watching these orders being made I thought to myself "I would be grumpy AF" making all these damn teas (or whatever item they were promoting, lol). But no, everyone there still kept their cool while remaining friendly and efficient. I always take advantage of using the mobile app to order. I know, I know. 'Why are you reviewing Starbucks.. there's one on every corner, and they're all the same.' But that's just it, they're not. This one has far more character and charm than most, and I'm not afraid to write about it. Call me basic. I. Don't. Frikkin. Care! Let me start off with the artwork inside. I love the deep blue maritime themed canvas, very fitting for Norfolk. It's also great to see Starbucks Reserve beans being sold at this location too, with the S.R clover blend available on the menu also. S.R is Starbucks's answer to a premium, gourmet coffee experience - sadly the nearest Reserve is in D.C. The staff in here are also great. Love my little chalk board lassie, a lot of effort goes in to those aesthetically appealing chalk boards folks! Whenever I'm in here, they don't mind having a chat and getting to know they're customers - when they're not busy, of course. That for me separates this Starbucks from others. It's clean, stocked up, well looked after and is a pleasure to relax in. It does get busy at times. But there is plenty of space to sit, with nooks and crannies to keep to yourself when you've got some work to do, or there's the community tables or the meeting room, away from the hustle and bustle - choose where you want to pull your laptop out to work, sit and sip. All that's missing at this location is the Nitro Cold Brew - but no biggie - that's why I go to Vessel Craft and keep it local. read more

I came here with my coworkers and wasn't sure what to order since I just wanted a cold coffee drink. The barista was super nice and recommended a hazelnut latte with sweet cream cold foam on top and it was amazing. I know I'm late to the game with cold foam drinks, but she wasn't judgmental at all and I'm glad she recommended this to me because it was life changing and now every time I see a Starbucks at an airport or around my place, I order this drink. Most Starbucks employees are generally friendly and nice, and this one was great because the employee really went out of her way to be patient with me and made sure I enjoyed my drink :) read more

Very disappointed in this Starbucks location today! Ordered my usual pink drink at drive thru, while pulling away I took a sip and it had a grape taste so I went in to have them remake, they remade it the exact same way! So they redid it, this time it was handed to me red as can be, barely any coconut milk, I got frustrated and just walked out! The girl making it clearly looked confused and not 100% sure what she was doing and no one was helping her, they had her remake a drink twice without help! This location needs to focus on training more and helping in a situation like this! read more

Very nice Starbucks on the ever-so-busy, popular, Granby street! (It's located on the corner of Plume and Granby.) Came on a Sunday, around lunch time, and it was fairly empty. Plenty of seating, and even has a small meeting room! Very spacious. Love it. Offerings - very typical - the coffee, snacks, food, nothing new, so I won't go into that. Baristas are extra friendly! So pleasant. I tried out the Bantam Bagel snacks (2 small bagel bombs filled with cream cheese, discovered and made it big via Shark Tank,) and had an ice water *gasp* lol. It's ok, I JUST had 2 cups of cold brew before coming here. I really just needed a light snack to hold me over until a "late lunch." This was perfect. . My hotel had a check out of 11am and our School Bus didn't arrive until 9pm. This Starbucks let me sit and work for the whole day in what I like to call their "war room". They have a large conference table that has places to charge your phone and computer along the middle of the underside of the table. Wow! The group that I brought was in and out going to conference sessions at the hotel and I bought 10+ drinks. Not a single drink was wrong and the even said my name right. read more

Really clean and organized space. I think without it being a drive thru store it helps eliminate some of the chaos. I was instantly greeted and taken care of within minutes of walking in. The staff was very patient with me since I wanted to try something new. They offered recommendations and I couldn't have been happier with my drink. This is my second time coming to this specific location and I definitely enjoyed the experience. The employees are always super friendly and the one guy "IAN" has the best customer service ever. Not even once have I had a bad experience at this Starbucks. That's saying a lot since I've been here in the double digits now and come in the "morning rush" most days. With this weather being as hot as it is I can't seem to stay away from their amazing varieties of iced coffees and my all time favorite Caramel Frappuccino (I haven't been to this location in the winter to experience any of their hot beverages). The location is extremely convenient for me, as it's right around the corner from my downtown work location. I love that it's right there on the busiest stretch of Granby St. but can still handle the volume of customers they get. Thanks for always taking care of my caffeine addiction! read more

Imagine a coffee shop with window seats... Imagine a coffee shop with window seats and wine and beer available! Dreams really come true, this Starbucks is amazing. They have the Reserve line of coffee, beer & wine, and a great collection of Starbucks merchandise available along with all the comforts of a normal Starbucks! Inside this Starbucks they have a sound proof room and an open Lordy with plenty seating and beautiful window seats looking out into the beautiful Norfolk City. Unfortunately it seems that's the wine and beer menu is only available during the evenings and it offers table service. However the customer service is exceptional here and it is a clean and spacious Starbucks. Key detail especially when a large popular Starbucks is added into a busy area. Overall I am satisfied with this Starbucks and highly recommend to stop by and get some reading inside or work! :) read more

I liked this Starbucks... They have an isolated room that is probably beneficial for people trying to either study or have a meeting. The enclosed area appears to be able to sit like 8-10 people; they also have other comfortable seating. Not alot of customers during my visit which made it all the more relaxing.... I ordered their smoked butterscotch latte... yummy! This is conveniently in walking distance from. The Hilton. Friendly and quick service. Would definitely be back when I'm in the area. read more

I am surprised at the lack of customer service at this Granby location. I usually have a good experience. I was on line, the only one, and the two employees behind the counter did not ask me what I wanted. They seemed to be joking around in the front. Then an employee stepped out of the back room, saw me standing there, and did not ask me what I needed. I just ended up leaving. Hopefully this is an isolated incident. Meet the new Starbucks! Just down the street from the old one at Selden, which closed. The new place is definitely pretty posh! It has an enclosed meeting space, which is really interesting. You can rent it, or purchase enough coffee and it's free to use. I don't want to post costs, in case they change. Some weird misses here, like, you have to walk past a line of tables to get into the line, and it's a little tight. Perhaps if they used less space for a meeting room! Haha. There are also a lot of tables that aren't face to face, which makes this location a little more challenging for informal business get together's. Ultimately, this place conforms to the Starbucks mold. Good coffee at a slightly exorbitant price, with warm tones. It's a step up from the previous location, but still not as good as I think it could be. read more

Let me start with this you guys- I am a frappy gal thru an thru....but this location just is a bit confusing for me. The tables next to the area for the line are good for people to study, read, have a casual talk, but people only sit on ONE SIDE of the tables, so basically while u stand in line you have a PANEL OF JUDGES watching u wait and is it just me? but it makes me very self conscious. This is a wonderful Starbucks. Fairly spacious for a downtown area with incredibly kind & helpful staff. They're very patient & kind when I'm toting all 3 kids along with me and if you've ever seen a 5 year old try to decide what they want to eat..... then you get it! Haha! Though this is not my usual Starbucks, I stopped in this morning to buy my tall cup of dark roast and was blown away by the stellar service. The older woman Dana who took my order was very friendly and jovial. I asked her about the "Signature" dark roast of the day and though she wasn't too familiar with it she directed me to another female employee Autumn, who was happy to go more in depth with me about it. She took the time to walk around the service counter and help me pick out a similar coffee to take home. Everyone was very genuine and welcoming. Let's be honest, nearly everyone goes to Starbucks, myself included. Some experiences are good, some are meh. I have gone to this location before, and while I wasn't wowed, I wasn't supremely disappointed either. The last time I went though...yikes. The new location is great and has nice amenities - but when I went to get a tall caramel frapp...my drink was watery and chunky and I was given no whipped topping or caramel. In a caramel frapp...no caramel other than the syrup they pump into the drink. And because the barista was more interested in talking about a new imported coffee to someone else, I only saw one shot of espresso go in (I ordered and paid for an extra shot.) At first I thought, "Well I haven't ordered a frapp in awhile, maybe that is how they make them now?? Or maybe I blinked and just didn't see the other shot go in??" and then I went to the Macarthur Mall location and saw that my drink from the previous day was totally wrong - I observed the barista in the mall location put in two shots and the rest of my drink. Not the worst experience ever, but far from the best. They can do better. read more
