Stopped into this Starbucks for the first time. The barista who took my order was nice and my drinks came out quickly and were good. They have a variety of seating from high top tables, to regular tables, some leather chairs with low coffee tables, and a window high top. The atmosphere was casual and relaxing. The only reason I'm giving it a three is because they need to do a much better job on cleaning. The bathrooms needed to be cleaned and so did the floor and the leather chairs, hat, crumbled food, and all the cracks. read more

Been to one Starbys you've been to them all for the most part. This location is very standard for a Starbucks. I ordered ahead and my coffee was ready when I got there. I will note that the parking lot and drive thru are small and narrow at this location since it's along a fairly bustling street. I could see how coming here during rush hour might be a pain. I arrived midday and my only issue was that it took me a moment to find the pick up spot for online orders. The baristas were very kind though and pointed me in the right direction. Friendly staff. I always receive great coffee from this location, which I have grown to love and rely on in the early morning hours. Convenience is lacking. This location has an unreliable scanner making paying through the app difficult or not at all possible. The staff do a great job of trying to trouble shoot the faulty scanner, but it is a huge inconvenience for frequent customers and a delay in the morning rush line. When I'm frequently paying $$ for coffee I want to accrue free items through the app. It makes me feel less guilty about all the money I d away on this luxury coffee. Plz fix! Not quite sure what her name is but she wears a messy bun and was working on the café side. I was waiting for over 15 minutes as I ordered my mobile order 10 minutes before leaving to go to the Starbucks. After waiting and having asked my name two times already, I asked when should I expect my order to be made with no tone just simply asking and I got a rude reply of "well I would be more than happy to make your order in front of the other mobile orders that we have if you like". I just found it rude that I had been patiently waiting and then I got a snarky remark back. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to this Starbucks there is a problem. I'm not kidding. I bet I have visited a dozen times, each time I swear I won't go back, and again there is ALWAYS an issue. The drive thru is at least a ten minute wait, they forget my sweetener, they give me the wrong size, they forget the snacks- I can't believe it. It should be comical by now but it's not. Yikes!! This location does not measure up to other Starbucks locations. This is the 2nd day in a row that my mobile order has trickled out over the course of 15 minutes. I've always had to get in line and find out why I'm missing the last of my order. While the staff is always nice and offering a comp to make up for the issue ... it's just not worth the hassle. It's not very often that I have a bad experience at Starbucks. I generally stop in once or twice a week for an iced mocha and always leave very pleased. This is the first time I've been irked to the point to give them a poor review. While this is a new location and I understand that they are working the kinks out, the "issues" with their espresso machine were not the problem. This particular day there was only two other customers inside and upon arriving there were four employees behind the counter, and it was undoubtedly five minutes before another employee came to the register to take our order. Without apology for the wait or even saying greeting, we were asked what we wanted and then proceeded to wait 15 minutes for our drinks. Again no apologies were offered for making us wait or for making the wrong drinks. We only heard about the employees issues and how they were supposed to be off an hour ago.The friendly attitudes and what seems like good leadership and management at most Starbucks was glaringly absent at this location. I come to this Starbucks location all the time. The staff is always really friendly and it never takes more than a couple of minutes to get my drink, even when it's busy. The drinks always taste good and on the rare occasion that a mix up happens, the baristas are always polite and fix it for me without a question. I wanted so badly to give this place a good review because I live so close to it, but I'm really frustrated with them always being out of their menu items. The first time I came a week ago, they were out of the ingredients for the strawberry refresher, then a couple of days after that they were out of ingredients for the peach tea. Now today, they are out of the ingredients for their cinnamon shortbread latte. This is the first review I have ever done because I just needed to express the horrible encounters I've had here. I love Starbucks, and coffee shops in general; I come here very often because it's the closest to where I live. Since I have moved and come here many times, I have never had a good experience here. The staff seems very bitter and angry most of the time. They do not respond well to customized drinks, nor do they have the drinks well made. I have been to The Starbucks on 87th street And most everywhere in Overland Park, Lenexa and Shawnee. This is the worst Starbucks because of the staff's energy. No one seems happy and it's hard to feel welcomed. Every time I come here there is a man with a beard who seems to be angry and annoyed of everyone. Today I had to write a review because one of the staff members yelled out the names the drinks belonged to as if he was irritated of us all. It was uncomfortable for us all in here as me and fellow strangers gave one another awkward stares because of the staff's lack in friendliness. This location is a nice one--clean, very convenient, friendly staff--but I've been here several times and they've gotten something wrong on my order about a third of the time. Just this past Saturday my wife went in and picked us up a couple of beverages--a coffalattachocochino or something for her, and an iced latte for me. There was a long line, and it took awhile, so when they handed her my not-iced latte, she wasn't able to spend another 20 minutes there. Nice location, very convenient, nice staff. This location just opened a few weeks ago, and I've made a few pit stops before reviewing, to give them a chance to work out any kinks. It's not the coziest of cafes, pretty wide open layout and limited comfortable furniture compared to some Starbucks...a bit more modern and spare. More a pop-in, pop out, than sit and read/study, for instance. It's fairly large...large lot, also. Small outdoor seating in front, but right on Johnson Drive, so not ultra serene. The staff seems to be hitting their groove the past couple of times I've been in, and have upped their game a bit. read more
