This Starbucks is very hit or miss; there have been times the espresso tasted burnt, they're out of certain ingredients, etc. I came to this Starbucks to try a customized fall drink, and it turned out great, though the app did say they had oat milk and they were out when I pulled up so I had to get whole instead. I got a grande pumpkin iced chai with 1 pump of brown sugar syrup and only 2 pumps of chai. It was delicious - highly recommend! read more

I order the same coffee all the time from various Starbucks locations and when I ordered this morning, it didn't taste right. No big deal, it happens. However I went back to have them remade and the staff were very unfriendly and cold. The boy at the front spoke very quietly and seemed annoyed. Coffees were remade and were sort of better, but not up to par with how I normally get them from other locations. This location could definitely use a course on customer service and how the drinks are made. $16 for 2 coffees, and for service like this? Ridiculous. Do better. Ooh! We haven't done a #MorganReviewsChainRestaurants in a hot second, so here we go! I never usually bookmark a Starbucks, because once you've seen one, you've seen 'em all. However, on a recent road trip home from New York, the boyfriend and I made a short detour off the highway to Middletown, CT to check out the new Spirit Halloween store (!!!) across the street, and decided to stop for a quick coffee at the nearby Starbucks. Little did I know that this is quite possibly the BEST Starbucks ever, nestled quietly in a nondescript Connecticut suburb! They have a drive thru, yes, but if you have a couple of minutes, come inside and marvel at how clean, modern, and inviting this place is. They have an awesome mural on the wall that shows the "Coffee Belt" where the beans are sourced, and ample seating that's perfect to sit and stay awhile to get some work done. The menu is standard, but actually quite tasty, and the Nitro Cold Brew offered here is awesome. They were even giving away free samples! The baristas were super friendly and prompt, and probably the most attentive and personable I've encountered at the many, MANY Starbucks(es?) I've been to. The wife and I went here on a Sunday morning for coffee the man at the register did not even take our names for the order and proceeded to advise us that our 2 coffees would probably take about 15 to 20 minutes to make. I'm a 3rd grade teacher so coffee is a must for me right?! Lol. I stop in at this Starbucks about 3-4 times a week for my morning caffeine fix. It's to the point where I know all of the baristas by name and they know it's me the second I start to place my order in the drive thru. One of the baristas joked with me last week, like who are you with this tall? You know you always get a venti! (Lol) Every order that I've placed has been darn near perfect. Mistakes happen when you're up to your elbows in espresso and ice so the times in which my order wasn't perfect, I didn't mind it. This location is very clean and the baristas are great (we share our weekly work experiences lol). The only downfall is the parking lot. It hard to get out of the lot is packed so be careful. Worst coffee house I've ever been in. Rude staff, and the price for this sludge is beyond me. The cup wasn't even near full and that was the tip of the iceberg. To wait in a line that long and slow, with people who are only go there so the can be socially progressive with their elitist friends, so they feel like they too are as uppity as the other idiots they hang out with is sickening. I am a total sucker for Starbucks, so when this one opened, I was thrilled that there would be one in Middletown. Admittedly, it's not in the most convenient location for me, but I don't let that stop me from regularly making appearances. The employees are really nice and work quickly and efficiently to make my coffee the right way. In fact, I have never had any issues with my order being wrong. Granted I usually do mobile pick-up, but it's always been correct. The store is a really decent size and there is plenty of seating if you plan to meet someone or just sit to get some work done. No complaints here. I placed a mobile order, and it was sitting there waiting for me when I came in about 10 minutes later. My iced chai was made the right way. The interior of the store is both cozy and trendy, and it's a good place to study, get some work done, or meet up with people. I don't get why Darielle complained about parking when there's a giant parking lot right outside the Home Depot next door. If you park there, it literally takes a couple of extra minutes to walk over...just sayin. This will be my coffee stop when I'm in the area. read more

This place recently opened 2 years ago, however, I can't say enough good things about it. Always polite, drinks are made in a quick timely order, and the food/baked goods are pretty fresh. They said it's the best seller when if that's the case who ever does the ordering should know better to increase the supplies of it's a demand. Definitely room for improvement. Conveniently located as there's no Starbucks near by, however, parking is terrible and the drive thru always has a long line. Make sure you specify your order completely because drinks are often made wrong if you get someone who doesn't know what they're doing. I asked for a grande dirty chai latte (chai + espresso shot) and paid my $5-6 for it to receive a plain Jane chai without the espresso shot I really needed. Disappointing. Starbucks is one of my favorite coffee shop. The Middletown branch leaves a lot to be desired. I have been there several times with no issues. This past Friday I bought 2 strawberry frapuccinos which I took home. Clearly, consistency is not one of the Middletown branch's strong point. Both were absolutely bland ..not sure what the barrister was thinking. I recalled seeing a woman while I was waiting for my order returning a drink to be remade and 2 other drinks being remade for a drive thru customer. I called and complain. I had to drive back to the shop and have the drinks remade.This time they gave me larger ones and I also received 2 complementary drinks for a later date. Wasting product and time is no way to run a business. Quality control needs to step up. read more

This Starbucks opened recently in Middletown and I've gone there a few times. It's obvious to me that the people working there don't know what they're doing because I see them messing up orders and dropping stuff all over the floor. There's a lot of socializing going on too. One time, I was the only person in line and still had to wait approximately 10 minutes for my coffee. I used to frequent this location quite often as I used to live pretty close by, but I moved a year ago & haven't been by for a while. I stopped in today after placing a mobile order, which wasn't received by the restaurant. I walked into an empty cafe(there were 3 cars in the drive thru) and there were 5 employees on. I went to the mobile order window & waited to be greeted. 3 employees(a short heavier blonde with a bob, a taller woman with long dark hair & a younger guy with glasses) were all standing there & not one looked up. A gentleman walked in & was immediately greeted by the blonde & I stood there still. She finally asked me for my name & she said the order was never received & asked me what it was. I couldn't quite remember what the order was & I wanted to be correct so I offered to show her the receipt so she could get an accurate order. She kept interrupting me & I said "I can show you my phone", she let out an exasperated sigh and said "okay fine". The girl who actually ended up making my coffee was very sweet but the other staff needs to get on the ball. I work in the service industry & even when I'm weeded & running around, I still make time to acknowledge my guests & make them feel like their business is appreciated. read more

My friends and I were in a rush and order our drinks and waited for 15 minutes. We watched the workers laugh and chat with other coworkers and didn't make our drinks. We watched multiple people in the drive thru get drinks but we didn't get ours. Last week we got our drinks within 4 minutes but this week it took almost triple the time. The food and coffee is what you'd expect from Starbucks. It's good coffee, especially the cold brew. The servers were polite, and the place is clean. My only complaint is a major one: The music is too damn loud. They play weird off-pop stereotypically-safe music on a volume way too loud to be enjoyable. Even while wearing earplugs it booms to a point where it's distracting. When I asked them to turn it down, they gave an excuse that the music company they use (Spotify or something) requires the music played are specific songs at a specific volume. In any other Starbucks they'll turn the music down so it plays at a volume appropriate for a coffee shop, but apparently Middletown of all places conforms to the point where they'll disrupt the comfortable atmosphere Starbucks tries so hard to maintain. My suggestion is to go to one of the many coffee shops down on Main Street in Middletown. They're not any better when it comes to customer service, but at least they won't lie when they tell you they won't create a better atmosphere. read more
