This man makes a MEAN latte, 10/10, I tried to take a photo but I chugged half of the coffee before I even got out of the parking lot! This was the kind of latte you're up in the middle of the night thinking about drinking it in the morning.

"Nothing you could say could tear me away from my guy…read moreNothing you could do, 'cause I'm stuck like glue to my guy" (Mary Wells) We took a morning coffee break, and had a wonderful time chatting, relaxing, sipping our drinks, and enjoying the friendly, mellow, and very chill atmosphere at the Café by New England Coffee Guy. They have plenty of seating, some upholstered furniture and we saw a few Friday morning telecommuters working on their laptops and sipping their coffees. Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). We loved our visit to the Coffee Guy, and I was so impressed by the total experience, I just subscribed to their newsletter. So the next time we're looking for a midday break or afternoon pick-me-up..... I know a guy!

This is a…read moretown with many great coffee options, and J René is arguably the best, depending on what you're into. It's more expensive than a Dunkin or Starbucks... of course. I can't believe some of the reviews. The coffee is roasted in house, the syrups are from scratch. If they could fit a cow in their (way too small) parking lot they'd probably have fresh milk and cream, too! Went in yesterday for a work meeting and the service was even better than usual. The vibe and atmosphere here is great for meetings, business or casual. My associate and I split a Siphon Pot to start. If you have the time, this is the very best way to enjoy your coffee. It really pulls the flavor out of the beans, on par with a pour over or aeropress, but it's also perfect for sharing. Afterwards, we both got Cortados, which were excellent, and I brought ice coffee back to the office for the man we left behind to run things. He sighed happily after sipping it, commenting that he could tell it was from J René. Why not 5 stars? The food is ok but I'm not a big fan of the pastries I've tried here. They're "fine". Normally my wife will get one and I'll try a bite or two. She's really into croissants and won't get them from here, saying they're a waste of money. The prices can feel a little steep here, especially compared to other good, local spots. Lastly, the parking lot is so tiny and during busy times of day the road can get crowded as well.

"I don't remember what day it was I didn't notice what time…read moreit was" (Spiral Starecase) No, I don't remember what day it was or where it was, but I know it was at a Yelp Elite function. One of my friends asked me (quite earnestly) if I had ever been to the Community Room Cafe for breakfast because "it's really great". Well, we went there today and I sincerely want to thank that unknown Yelper because the Community Room Café is excellent. We found it in the Constitution Square retail area bounded by Cedar St., E. Main St., Market Sq and Lowrey Place in the center of Newington, CT. Parking is plentiful in the Square's large parking lot. Their space is amazing -big, cheerful, inviting, comfortable, colorful (plenty of orange and black). There are plenty of various seating options in the form of couches, upholstered chairs, table/chair groupings, and counter-style seats by the windows. We saw a few medium sized groups gabbing away at the upholstered seat area and a few industrious folks clattering away on their laptops. We each went with an Avocado Toast (@ $9) with mashed avocado, diced egg, diced tomato, bacon crumbles, cilantro, and Everything bagel seasoning blanketing a big slice of toasted rye. Seriously, one of the best breakfasts we had this year. I went with a small cold brew coffee and a shot of sugar-free caramel ($4.25) while my wife went with a small light roast coffee ($3). We loved everything about the Community Room Café- the food, the vibe, the décor, the service.... Everything. PRO TIPS Their WIFI password is (one word all CAPS) ILOVEMY COFFEE They have a meeting room available to rent for $50/hour during business hours and $100/hour during non-business hours.

I chose a comfy chair with a table by the window I ordered an egg, cheese and sausage, breakfast sandwich, and to drink a raspberry cheesecake latte. My coffee was ready right away, and my sandwich was brought to me at my seat. Both orders were very good. The egg sandwich was huge. The egg is actually a large square. It was flavorful and satisfying. There are a variety of many items that include coffees, pastries, and breakfast items. The ambience is fairly cozy. There are couches, comfy chairs, and tables. After eating, I stayed another hour to finish a book I was reading. I would definitely visit again.

My favorite is the vanilla caramel mocha. The coffee is a medium bodied and very flavorful. Depending on what you like you need very little creamer. I used to be a light coffee drinker now I've switched to oat milk (I know weird) but it's less calories and no where near as heavy as regular coffee mate. Works perfectly! The bags come in either ground or whole bean. We've gotten both and they are 12oz bags (not resealable so get something to put it in). Their Keurig pods are also flavorful and recommended. My only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the vanilla mocha Keurig pod seem to clog my machine, maybe the grounds are too large. Check their website or emails they also send coupons all the time! Recommend.

They are pre ground which makes it a little hard to compare against whole beam. I find these coffees reliable, consistent and if you are stuck I the generic national brands these could be a good stepping point to better coffee. They price is somewhat cheaper than other premium coffees. It's always a good sight to me if a diner or other breakfast spot is offering Omar coffee. It will be better than the generics. These are not my favorite local coffees but they win on price and being approachable b the majority of coffee drinkers.
