Your run of the mill Starbucks. I frequent this location alot because I'm working in the area right now. The service has always been a little slow, even if the drive thru line isn't backed up. Maybe they are short staffed at the moment. Once my drink was made incorrectly and I didn't notice until I got to my destination. Hopped in the car, brought it right back via drive thru, and showed her that I was rung up without a modification I asked for. The girl at the counter must've thought I was lying because she went back and forth from the window, telling me the drink was correct. When I finally said I think it was because the person heard me incorrectly when I ordered, and that I'm not trying to pull her leg, she brought me another one but didn't seem convinced. Other than the slow pace, it's fine. The inside is always neat and chilly. Quiet, if you want to go there to get some work done. read more

I used to adore this Starbucks- seems like a management change in the past few months:/ I don't see the women I used to and the new people lack urgency. I mobile ordered 15 mins ahead and still waited 10 mins inside. They see you waiting and simply do not care. I know it's a stressful job and things get mixed up but it is every single time. This has got to be the worst experience I've ever had at a Starbucks. I've had better experiences at McDonalds. I arrived happy and excited to get a pink drink and left frustrated wishing I had just went to smoothie king. I waited 35-40 minutes in the drive through line. My toddler ended up having to use the bathroom so I pulled around to go inside to get the drinks I paid for and to use the restroom. The staff was soooooo nonchalant that I had a dancing toddler crying to use the bathroom because she was about to pee on herself. The bathroom have key pads on them and you can't use them unless you have the code. They wouldn't respond to my request to use the bathroom, just looked at me with blank faces as if I was speaking another language. I asked for my drinks so I could possibly rush her somewhere else to use the restroom and they just looked at me while moving slower than a turtle. Not to mention the pink drinks weren't made correctly. They were sour, I have no idea what went wrong. They also didn't want to give me the cup of water I ordered. I just didn't care because I was rushing so my kid wouldn't use the bathroom in the store on herself. They acted like they were completely over working. Parking is fairly limited, and with the panhandlers lurking about, I rarely go inside of the restaurant For the most part, they get my orders correctly made, but sometimes run out of items without updating the inventory that shows up on the app. The workers here are almost universally nice, and that goes a long way. read more

Hoooo my goodness this Starbucks is hard to get into! I mean physically, it is very hard to get your car into the drive thru. You HAVE to enter from Union Ave if you want a shot at the drive thru. But, the parking lot is better accessed by McLean. And it's usually full, fair warning. This location just annoys me so much, I don't know why they designed the parking lot this way!! As for the food and drinks, they've been on point every time I've been there, no complaints about that. The staff is relatively friendly and they get the job done quickly. It's also clean inside, but also super full because this location is always PACKED! Have you sensed enough of my frustration yet? To start with it took about 10 minutes for somebody to even acknowledge that I was standing at the front counter to place an order. After that my cashier was very rude and I had to repeat my order to her several times. After that I waited a good 25 minutes for my coffee. Once they called out my name I politely asked if part of my order instructions were done like I wanted because I've had several times where it was done incorrectly. A different woman with a smart ass attitude told me it's made however you said I didn't make your order. I told her laughing OK that doesn't really answer my question but whatever. She was like excuse me trying to be even more of a smart ass. I told her politely that there was no reason to be a smart ass when I was already here irritated waiting forever all she had to tell me was she didn't know but instead she had to say something smart in a rude way. After that she proceeded to mumble and talk to her self to somebody else where I could not hear her. So now I'm already mad and irritated I told her if she had something to say she could speak up like an adult so I can hear it and then she was with that excuse me shit again and decided to run her mouth again so I had to say something to her until it escalated as getting into a loud confrontation. If your employees can't handle being polite to begin with and I can't handle the pressure of the job they should not be working there and I would not have had to raise my voice and get loud if two people especially the last worker was not been a smart ass bitch to me. Wife ordered her regular drink. Took 20 minutes and the drink was wrong. She asked for it to be fixed. The clerk had an attitude and told her she would have to make another one. This one was not correct either. When she told the clerk it CC was wrong again, the clerk walked away and told her she would have pay for another one if she wanted it fixed. All the clerk was asked to do was add extra lemonade to my wife's refresher which was listed on the original order. The staff at this location have a very attitude. read more

Used to be my go-to Starbuck's, but mobile orders are now never ready when the app says and it's not a very welcoming atmosphere anymore. Drinks are always correct, but often not full. I sometimes stop at another location on the way to work and they actually greet me by name when I pick up my drink. Pretty amazing difference. Given its location, this Starbucks is my go-to Starbucks, whether it's to work, grab a quick coffee, or people watch. For those reasons, particularly the latter, it's a pretty decent one overall, albeit inconsistent on most fronts. In general, the customer service is good, but that depends on who's helping you; there are some great baristas and some not so great ones. You might expect that in any Starbucks, but if you're going to pride yourself on customer service, I'd expect more consistency. In general, the drinks are done well, but every so often, the flavor isn't great. Admittedly, I tend to prefer the sugary, lots of calories, sweet coffee drinks; I can't make them well, hence why I come here, so I'd expect them to be made right here most, if not all, of the time. In general, the speed is decent but only inside. I rarely use the drive-thru, particularly if I'm in any rush. The order ahead is really nice and helps combat this issue. The above, along with the fact that the parking is horrendous and the space is quite crammed, makes it an okay Starbucks that could easily be much better, even if they can't tear down the building and expand out because of the location. read more

To the older blonde woman w short hair working night shift- relax. Starbucks does not close for another two hours, yet you bark orders at staff, having them run around doing their clean-up duties, and it gives me anxiety. It's so bad I feel as though I should start offering to help clean. Also, stop interrupting the barista taking my order to recommend a tea... you do not have to be in everyone's business. I am trying to enjoy my hot tea but I'm watching her mop whilst simultaneously YELL, "who cleaned the women's bathroom?" Mind you, it's only 9pm. This is my favorite and go to Starbucks, wish parking and road access was better, however the friendly and efficient staff really make up for it (I once asked them to play Sheryl Crowe on the ambient music, they obliged). It's also the best place to people watch. THIS STARBUCKS HAS EVERYTHING A PEOPLE WATCHER COULD ASK FOR! Awkward Tinder dates, check, people who hate having to sit next to strangers while they read or study, check! They even the not rare enough suburban Karens, complete with their "I want to speak to the manager" haircut, pack of Marlboro Menthol Ultra Light 100's, obnoxious sense of entitlement, their demon spawn, and passive husband that we always feel bad for. There's nothing more entertaining than watching them freak out about having to wait in line, like an adult, at what's clearly very busy establishment. 2 stars instead of 1 because the people there seem nice. However, this place is a traffic nightmare. The place is nearly always busy and it's hard to get into and hard to get out. Parking is almost non-existent and if you go through the drive-thru you are subject to being trapped after you get your order as the cars entering the premises from Union sometimes are backed up all the way to the street. THEN if you are NOT blocked it's nearly impossible to turn onto Union because the exit is right by a busy intersection. Bottom line: Unless you are on a bicycle or walking, avoid it! read more

The employees decided to play a prank on their customers by playing the song "The Ice Cream Man" on a loop for approximately 45 minutes, only inserting "What's New Pussycat" into the mix once before continuing the "The Ice Cream Man" loop. My issue is not with the repetitive music; my issue was with how these employees stole John Mulaney's famous "Salt and Pepper Diner" bit from his stand up routine entitled "The Top Part" (2009) and played it off as their own bit. After confronting one of the employees about how they ripped off this joke, they denied it. The employee who lied to me was convincing, so I will give three stars back to my review for the impressive acting skills found within this Starbucks. I've ordered from this location many many times via mobile app and no matter how much time I wait the order is never ready when I get there. Today I decided to walk in and place a mobile order while in the store to see why this place is soo slow. I paid attention to how many customers were in line and had not placed their order and everything. As soon as I placed the order I believe the manager heated up my sandwich and I retrieved it within a minute. Now as far as my drink well that was not received until 25 or 30 minutes later. I looked around the store and I was the only person in the store waiting on a drink. All of the other customers I placed my order at least 5 to 10 minutes before had already received there orders and were gone. I asked do you all not make the mobile orders until the last second? The employee responded with the orders are put in a line as the order is placed. This could not be the case or its not actually being done therefore when you go to this Starbucks and see that there are a ton of people standing around waiting for mobile orders this is why. It would be best to avoid this Starbucks and go to the 1420 Starbucks location with better parking and it is a lot quicker. read more

This review isn't your typical review. I am going to talk about a very unpleasant experience I had the other day, and how the Starbucks employees handled the situation. A few minutes into my visit at the Starbucks around 3:45pm, a woman runs into the Starbucks screaming asking for a doctor. She found her husband slumped over dead in his car in the parking lot of the Starbucks. Apparently he had been there for a good majority of the day, and she found him by tracking his iPhone to his location. I couldn't move my car out of the parking lot because it was blocked in by police and paramedics. It wasn't for about 45 minutes that we could leave or move our cars. In the mean time, we camped out in the Starbucks with what patrons were left. A lot of people vacated for obvious reasons. During this time, the Starbucks staff were very friendly to make sure that the customers were doing okay. They went around asking if we needed anything. I appreciated the extra steps they took since it was pretty shocking to everyone... especially my friend since he lost his mother last year, and that dead body just also happened to be parked right beside his car. It was a pretty sad day considering the circumstances, but the Starbucks staff acted quick by calling 911 and managed the situation to the best of their ability. read more

That caffeine is nothing nice eh? Yassss!!! (this chic is lol so loud, so loud) I frequent this location more than anyone should admit, but they know how to turn a girl on. No pun intended. Maybe. Maybe? Maybe. Anywho, they know how to make me dip into my stripper's stash because they work it better than... Never mind. Let's just say they rock. And roll. And all those other adjectives that you care to insert that's worthy of making it rain. I'm just keeping it honest. The location is centrally located to everything with the right amount of space to keep things intimate. The staff makes it their business to treat you better than family. They pay attention. And I like this. Plus, you don't have to be afraid to say hi to your new found cousins. Cousins? The frequent flyers (patrons) that can't get enough of grandma's house. It's the best place on Earth! We waited roughly 20 minutes while One employee made drinks. One employee (Camille), who took our order, appeared to be stocking but seemed uninterested in the fact one person was making drinks for 8 people. I don't know. Maybe "new management" told them not to stop stocking if they were busy. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. One man (Andrew) asked if we had an app order. He then proceeded to make himself a drink and walk to the back. Apparently he was taking his 15 break when there was only one Barista making drinks. When I worked food service, if you were busy, your break had to wait until it slowed down. But again, maybe "new management" makes them take breaks when it's busy. Mars was busting her butt making all of the drinks with no help from anyone. Very disappointing Starbucks. My favorite Starbucks when visiting Midtown MEM. That it's within walking from my mom's apartment is only one reason. Staff is friendly & efficient. Busy but moved fast. Interesting diverse people watching. The dudes hanging outside asking for $$ and/or food seem to be in shifts but aren't intimidating.
