If you get most of your coffee drinks from the store, then you spend a lot of Storebucks. This is not that. Located next to a pretty decent pizzeria is this Starbucks where I hung out for about an hour when I needed Wi-Fi and a little beverage. There's not a huge amount of boba options on Long Island so I'm happy to have this here, but I'm still not the biggest fan in the world especially of their prices.

I needed my favorite drink to help me make it from beach time at Sunken Meadow Beach back to Brooklyn, NY. Upon entering we were all greeted with a "hello and welcome to Starbucks" Boy oh boy was I smiling. I love to feel wanted especially at Statbucks and they fullfilled my fantasy. I had my favorite drink - Mango Dragonfruit Starbucks Refreshers Beverage - love at first sip. The barrista did not have the drink my girlfriend wanted and suggested another bold coffee. The punch line is he let her have it for free, because the coffee she wanted was not brewed as yet. Who does that? Well Starbucks does. Thank you for making our orders swiftly and showing us love on our first visit.

This was once my usual place to get coffee. Recently, I have chosen other places to buy coffee since I have decided that Starbucks is not the only place in town for good coffee. I also find Starbucks is pricey compared to other places that are not a chain and provide the same if not better quality.

5.23.17. Starbucks, Melville NY. Great Starbucks! I have been to many S.B.'s all over Long lsland. I've gotten the feel for the Starbucks experience. The Coffees and food products are consistent, the decor and amenities vary depending on the Venue. For me, the most important attribute is always Customer Service! The "Wonderful Employee Today", who helped me was also my barista. She was so welcoming and made me a GREAT cappuccino. Better than most SB spots that I go to. The Brew was full of Flavor and was Not ALL foam, like I get in many places. But what would make me come back again, was the SMILE that this employee brightened the whole place with. Just made me feel at home. Thanks. What a pleasant contrast to the Usual Client experience I am afforded at most Starbucks, in wich you MUST pry a smile out of unpersonable assoiates. Hey, I'm so HAPPY today, got my HOT brew, a nice smile and I'm on my way. JIM D.

It's Starbucks: over-roasted mediocrity galore. At least the bathroom is clean, which is reason enough to patronize the Kings of Bitterness.

My wife and I recently checked Mokafe out twice a couple weeks apart with each experience being pretty solid. Round 1 consisted of just coffee drinks which you'd expect to get from a place like this as the name has Middle Eastern connections to the coffee of that region. What you might not expect is the list of speciality lattes they have as they really load in some unique options (Kinder Bueno latte?!). My tiramisu latte was exceptional while my wife's Nutella latte also hit the spot. Round 2 we leveled things up by still getting coffee, but we also dove into some food options as I ordered the Turkish bagel with olives and my wife got the strawberry Nutella flat croissant. Starting with the sweet, that croissant was fantastic and definitely something unique. My bagel was also pretty legit though not a LI-type bagel as this was flakier with that olive spread inside many bites. Different to what I'm used to, but still quite enjoyable. What wasn't as spot on was my pistachio latte. Not a bad drink as Mokafe seems to handle their espresso well, but I couldn't really grasp any pistachio flavor. I'll try a different latte next time (plenty to choose from!). Before wrapping things up, let's tackle a few other important pieces. Setting is superb in the comfy (albeit green) booths and large amount of seating. It's definitely a cozy spot to sit and enjoy your cafe goods, though the music is sometimes a bit loud and kind of takes away from a place you'd feel like you could maybe get some work done. Pricing is pretty fair with a 24oz iced latte coming in at $7.50 which isn't too shabby with some places definitely over that dollar point. And staff were nice enough for our quick interactions, and they'll also bring out and/or buzzer when your drinks/food are ready which all occurred pretty quickly/smoothly. Overall, Mokafe is a delight. The setting is cool, the menu is sizable, the food/drink choices are pretty tasty, and the whole spot is rather unique to a coffee scene that honestly could be getting a little oversaturated so it's nice to see something different. I know a second Hicksville location just opened, so now let's work on getting one of these a little more east of Melville!

They have a huge free parking lot and the inside decor is very clean, modern, bright and beautiful. This would be a great place to grab a bite and/or drink while catching up with a friend or even to study. After browsing their many choices, I settled on a pistachio frapp and the turkey and cheddar sandwich (with avocado added for additional cost). Everything on their menu looked good and if you're a pistachio fan like me, they have a decent amount of pistachio items on the menu. Prices seemed on par with what a cafe would charge though I felt the croissants were a bit on the pricier side. The frapp was good though I wished it was sweeter and had a little more pistachio flavor to it. The sandwich, especially with the added avocado was a little on the smaller side but absolutely delicious, fresh and filling. The staff member that helped me with my order was very nice and helpful, even updating me why my drink was taking too long (they had made the wrong size initially). After you place your order (they have a free rewards program also), you're given one of those devices that vibrate when your order is ready. I noticed they have a drive thru (definitely will try this one day!) which is great for those times you don't want to get out of the car, are in a hurry or have a little one in the car that's napping or something. I definitely want to return in the near future to try other menu items!

We tried a mix of drinks and pastries starting with the Nutty Shakedown which was rich and smooth with a great pistachio espresso flavor. For pastries, the double chocolate cookie was warm and indulgent, the pistachio croissant had a strong authentic flavor, and the lemon bar was bright, sweet, and easily a favorite.
