This location is not on the top of my go to places just because I have one closer to home. But the remodeled store is very nice. It is a bit more clear where to be and what they have. UGHHH. Starbucks you are letting me down with this location. First, I don't even like your renovation. I miss the bar area. I miss the cozy area to read or work on your laptop. Now it isn't cozy at all. Secondly, I am so fed up with the service here. Shortly after the renovation, I waited over 15 minutes from the time I ordered (already waited 5 in line). Finally, I left as I had to get to work. They weren't even offering a reimbursement on my drink. I had to ask for a free drink coupon. Awful! I thought maybe this was just with new staff, etc. and maybe things would get better. Nope. The area is crowded where people wait for their drinks. It makes it awful if you go there to study or read. The wait time is still very slow. I was standing at the register for almost 5 minutes before one of the 5 workers helped me. I had to remind her of my $5 gift card promotion with the holiday coffee I bought. I asked for a venti water and got a grand. These complaints would be easier to take if the service was friendly with smiling baristas - but nope. Ho hum workers that aren't happy to see you. It is unfortunate this is the Starbucks that is closest to my house. I hope management steps up and takes control of the place. read more

I'm not a huge coffee drinker or Starbucks goer, but every now and then my friend and I stop into this location for a catch up chat. I really love what they did with the remodel! It's so elegant inside. I really love the wall art, in particular. There are plenty of small tables to sit at and get some work done but also a couple larger tables to accommodate groups. They also offer a couple more comfortable chairs to relax and work in, as well as a small patio outdoors. It has never been crazy busy when I've come in (I usually come in in the evening); so, I've never had a problem with prompt service. The service has always been friendly, also. I have not utilized the drive thru function yet, but it is ALWAYS a long line when I drive by in the morning. I'm not sure how speedy the line goes because I've never stuck around to find out. I tried the new midnight mint frappucino. I didn't find it to be anything to write home about, but it was refreshing on that hot evening. If you're looking for something not sweet, this would be the drink for you. I'll continue coming to this Starbucks. It's a really nice relaxing place. read more

Seriously, they need to just shut this place down until they can figure it out. It's been running poorly for ages. If you are in the drive thru, you're literally trapped, which can be anxiety provoking, because it's anyone's guess how long you might be stuck there. Last time I was there it was 15 minutes for four cars. The kid at the window was taking the woman in front of my cars phone, handing it back to her, and doing tech support on her app. I had my window down, and listened as he literally walked her through doing an email reset of her password. Of course when I got to the window, my coffee was cold. Lately it seems to be a 50/50 chance they'll just be closed, as they can't keep employees. Across the street from one of Madison's major malls, and the only one around for miles, they really REALLY need to get it together. Oh, the inside is disgusting. If you do go in, the bathrooms are filthy and trash bags were seen strewn about in the hall on multiple visits. I have been coming here a long time with no complaints. But in the last several months they arbitrarily close in the afternoon (they used to be open until 9 or 10 every night). I'm sure it's due to a lack of staff; however, other businesses manage to stay open despite short staffing. And if they can't, they set new hours for a period of time and stick to their schedules. Not Starbucks. Two cornerstones of franchises are predictability and consistency. I'm done with Starbucks. read more

I love Starbucks but this one is just ok. Not because of the food or drink but the layout. Long and narrow with odd seating options. Not conducive to relaxing and feels like I'm always getting in the way of the order line or bathrooms. Outside is right in the street so I choose not to sit there. Staff is nice but too bad the design can't be improved. I usually pop in and get it to go. Go to a different location if you want to just hang out. Parking can be a mess too depending on time of day. Always feels crowded. Starbucks should pay attention to stuff like this when they choose a location. read more

Dirty place and crap attitude from the barista. I ordered two cappuccino. One got set down and my name was called. As I walked to get it I asked is that the one with coconut milk? The guy sounded annoyed and said yes. A minute later I got the second one, assuming it's the other one that's doesn't have coconut milk. I just don't even know where to start with this review. I am in the area frequently for things and sometimes an afternoon coffee is nice. At least, the thought is, then you get to this Starbucks. First, let's talk about pace--if you're on any sort of schedule, be prepared to wait. I've consistently had to wait 15+ minutes for a tea. A tea. It's already brewed, I don't want sweetener, all the baristas have to do is pour it in a cup, and yet I find myself waiting...and waiting. People who order blended drinks after me get their drinks before me and that that really blows my mind. Then, let's talk about the ability to make drinks correctly, shall we? I get there's a lot to learn, but you know what you're getting when you work at Starbucks. I ask for unsweetened tea? The barista puts classic syrup in it...so the drink has to be made...again...making the wait for everyone even longer. Because the wait time is so ridiculous, I had the chance to see two other drinks butchered before mine and I fail to understand why this is acceptable. All in all, take your money and time elsewhere. This place is disgusting. The person at the register doesn't have even the most basic sense about hygiene. I bring my own cup just so I don't have a person working the register malling the lid I'll be putting my mouth to. Well, last weekend the person working the register took my cup and held it up against her head while scratching herself near her ear with my cup rubbing against her head. Today, the guy working the register; taking cash, scratching is face takes my cup with his hand on the top of it....why on earth someone would grab a cup that way is beyond me, but especially when they are handing cash and someone else's cup. Classic Starbucks atmosphere. Clean and tidy. Snacks and whatnot are stocked. Trashes emptied, counters clean. They seem very busy. There is a lot of new faces here. It sucks to have to be hyper vigelent about your own drink. I ordered a smoothie and had to have it remade. The first time bc o it wasn't made with the right milk. Then they left out the protein powder. When I asked about it I was told that it was extra and not part of the recipe. I explained that was the recipe listed on the website but I was still questioned. Another barista came over to find out what was going on and reaffirmed I was correct. I ended up leaving without a smoothie. It was embarassing to go through the hullabaloo of proving my knowledge was in line with corporate standards. read more

It's a typical Starbucks as far as workers and drinks go. The location is very high traffic so it's tough to find parking and seating sometimes. The reason I give it two stars is because the majority of the seating is surrounded all by huge windows. I was there for a business meeting a week ago (and it is winter in Wi, so I'm used to the cold), but the windows were so drafty it was freezing by the seats. I left my winter jacket on the entire time and was still cold. It's great in the summer, but very uncomfortable in the winter. read more

Love the physical location, but not a fan of this particular Starbucks. The staff, with a few exceptions, are curt and busy socializing with themselves. They are frequently out of food/snacks, even at 8am. And, in general, I would recommend bringing a book as the wait times are ridiculous, especially the drive-thru (from which there is no escape). read more

Same awful service just like before their renovation. I was hoping with the addition of the drive thru they would get their act together but no. Drive thru takes forever and going inside takes forever. They still only use one register because the staff cannot handle several orders. Only one person ever making drinks. Adding the drive thru definitely didn't help, just made things worse and you have to wait even longer now. Twice I was in line and nobody was taking orders, just nobody. Staff behind the counter just frantically running around because they can't keep up. I waited almost 20 minutes one morning just for ice coffee, seriously, prioritize. Pour hot or iced coffees first, drinks that don't take long while you wait for your espresso to brew. Maybe have a second person doing that. Don't renovate and make things worse for an already struggling store. Hire more people, train better, do something because this Starbucks is awful. read more

Wow this place is newly renovated and it is disgusting! Stopped there today and went inside. HUGE puddle of water (3'X2') right in the walkway with a Slippery When Wet sign to the side of it. Big liability when someone slips in it. At least 5 people behind the counter, maybe someone should take 2 minutes to wipe it up. I was going to get a bakery item until I noticed at least 4 flies in the case landing on everything. The top of the case was dusty and 2 more flies buzzing around that. Lost my appetite. Ordered a coffee and left. Seems very disorganized and slow. Won't be back. read more

Internet and service so slow it's like watching paint dry. Seriously, more than a minute to load this application (iPad Air 2) so I could write this review. If you're going to have an amenity, you could at least throw a few bucks at it to make it worthwhile. And looking around, I'm actually the only person using a computer of any sort. A couple of people on cell phones but nobody is streaming netflix on a laptop so don't blame the lousy performance on "peak usage". I enjoy and occasional Starbucks Coffee and with the onset of fall, of course the Pumpkin Latte. Recently I gave this location a couple visits and I'm not impressed. One visit was around 8:30 a.m. on a weekday and the line was crazy long. We turned around and left. Good for them for being busy. On a second visit, once again a morning, I powered through the line, waiting more than 15 minutes to order. When ordering the staff was less than friendly. I have been testing the new Starbucks Rewards program. It is a bit confusing. I have it on my smart phone and I also get offers now that I am enrolled. I let the person know I had $2 off a sandwich. She said "do you have a code?" I said no. She said "well you have to have a code. I can't redeem without a code. Hurry up there's a line." I said OK I may have deleted the email and I chalked it up to my fault. I then went to pay with my phone app and the person said "I'm new, I don't know how to use that. We can't scan that." Once again rushing me. Befuttled I paid with cash and waited in line for my coffee to be served. I do appreciate the staff might be stressed but it does not give a warm fuzzy to me when it's implied that I'm the problem. If you are in a rush, this is not the place. I've been to the Target and Hy-Vee locations which are rarely, busy. Better yet, local owned places are more friendly. Based on multiple experiences I'll remember to go elsewhere. read more
