Patricia (the owner?) greeted us as soon as we entered and directed us to the menus. It's a small breakfast menu of about seven items, but what they do, they do well. I had the sunken Benny, which Patricia kindly explained to me was not at all like a traditional Benny. Instead, it was poached eggs, potatoes, corn, black beans, bell peppers, and chorizo nestled into a zesty tomato sauce. It felt a bit like a Mexican take on a shakshuka. So hearty, especially as it was served with a delicious focaccia style bread--it could cure heartache, I think. My friend ordered the omelette with a side of pancakes, and the omelette was a great balance of veggies, meat, and cheese. And the pancakes... I promise I'm not exaggerating when I say she shed tears. "10/10," she declared, marveling at the texture--somehow soft, fluffy, and bouncy. The baked goods are also all made fresh in house, and I had to get a carrot and mascarpone muffin to go.
