Because it's impossible for me to tell the difference between them, I'd say that the one at Grossmont is no worse than the others. If you like Starbucks, you'll like this Starbucks. If not, you'll want to buy your coffee from the Caffe Calabria coffee cart at Sharp Hospital, across the street from the shopping center. I'll grant that the parking there is more difficult, but Calabria's coffee is better than anything Starbucks offers, anywhere in the world. read more

Customer service was awful right let me say what happened. I got thirsty while shopping so I'm like i will go to Starbucks because they give free water and i like the crushed ice. Here is what the employees said to me when i asked for water. They said we are not allowed to give free water without purchasing of a coffee. My daughter set me up with a mobile app and I can order before arriving. We I get to the coffee shop my order is waiting for pickup. Tables outside are convenient to relax a few minutes and enjoy the brew. Now if my daughter would just keep adding money to my account I would be very happy indeed. I'm really confused about the bathroom. It says "employees only" now on the door. They tell you to go next door to barnes and nobles, but barnes and nobles closed their bathrooms for a couple months. I know what it's like to work at Starbucks because I worked in bankers hill back in 2017, and the bathrooms got gross from the homeless and other people as customers- however, I don't understand why the bathroom sign is still up? It should be taken down. This is just a bit abrupt and semi disrespectful to paying customers who need to use the bathroom. My dad is 75 years old and he bought a cup of coffee before I even arrived to grossmont today. He had to walk to the food court because the bathrooms were not available at any other place. It doesn't seem accommodating and it's frustrating. My sister paid a $3 tip today, but Starbucks only purpose is to make drinks. Baristas make more than CNAs do (healthcare workers) and healthcare workers don't get tips. I'm boycotting Starbucks. Everything is ridiculously priced and tacky. This place gets my 5 stars because they made my drink the way I like it. You noticed the color of my drink is darker than the previous drink. I got a venti mango dragon fruit refresher and this drink was perfect. Whoever made my drink gets props from me. The guy taking my order was super nice and friendly. Love the enthusiasm in this place! Plenty of seating inside and air conditioning is a plus. You need a code to use the restroom. I waited at the door to just go in after the person before me. I frequent the Barnes & Noble right next door regularly and every so often, I need a pick me up. Reading books can sometimes have that effect on you, ya know? My choice of drink is dictated by my mood. Today, I decided to get a Grande Iced Caramel Macchiato. I needed something cold that I could drink quickly to wake up. The thing I like about Starbucks is I know what to expect. Drinks are usually consistent in taste, quality and so forth. The service here is decent and lines move quickly. The young woman who took my order today was pleasant. I got my drink around the 5-7 minute mark and the drink did the job of waking me up a bit. What I love about this Starbucks is that is it attached to a B&N! That makes me soooo happy. I could spend hours upon hours here. While this is my first review, I've been here often. In a world known for consistency. This Starbucks location is above and beyond! The greeting was so authentic, I thought I would bust into tears! Haha. They are so nice here. This Starbucks is very conveniently located in the Grossmont Shopping Center. It is also right next door to Barnes N Nobles, so you can enjoy your delicious drink and grab something to read. My favorite there is the Java mocha chip. It's the perfect blend of chocolate and coffee beans. Service is decent and the atmosphere is inviting, but it is smaller than most Starbucks. So, I went here last week and reloaded my card, baristas were as friendly as the could be, I know the struggle... a barista took my order for a Trenta passion tea with 10peach 6 classic, light ice. There definitely wasn't light ice but that's okay. And I ordered their chicken and bacon panini, I think that's a new addition to their menu but it's literally my favorite it's so tasty. So at this point after ordering they were really busy so I waited like 10+ minutes for my drink and sandwich. Had to leave I was in a rush for work. Then as I'm walking to my car my panini just falls out the little bag it came in onto the floor. The bag just burst open! I was heart broken and ran back in to ask for a replacement. A female barista told me she would make me a new one and apologized. But they didn't have any more chicken & bacon so she let me choose one. DONT! Get the artichoke and chicken panini, it was disgusting but that's my fault. I ended up with no breakfast but a great drink. So, 4 Stars for the wait and the bag, and being out of stock. After taking a nice walk around the mall I came by this Starbucks to get my Grande Pikes Peak with a smidgen of room. When I arrived, I was surprised to see such a big line to order. However, as I waited in line I spotted my favorite pastry at Starbucks that not all carry, the "Morning Bun." I made it to the counter and ordered my coffee and bun. They asked me if I wanted my bun warmed and I said, sure. I stepped back to let others order and my coffee came rather quickly. I put some whole milk in my coffee and waited for my bun. As the line of people kept ordering their goodies, I kept waiting for my bun. Then as the same people kept receiving their goodies, I kept waiting for my bun. I stood there waiting and waiting. What the heck are they doing making this bun from scratch? I thought. Finally, after about 5 minutes, one of the girls behind the counter asked If I needed something, and I said, "sure how about that bun I ordered 5 minutes ago." I am telling, you should of seen the look on her face. Well, apparently, my bun got lost in the shuffle, so either someone got the wrong thing or a free bun! Just 2 outdoor tables now. Probably because people used to park at them for hours. I like this SB b/c it's attached to my local B&N. However, it's also the closest one to Sharp Grossmont Hospital, which means that's where everyone from there goes to get coffee (sometimes in surgical scrubs, but aren't those supposed to be kept clean and not leave the office? Hmm). Which means it's usually super crowded, without rhyme or reason. Sometimes I go at 3 pm and it's packed. Packed at 1030 am. Sometimes it's 1130 am and I've just missed the crowd from morning and lunch rush hasn't started. Who knows. Anyway, be prepared to wait. Bring your Candy Crush. If you need to use the bathroom, ask the cashier to write the code on your receipt BEFORE you go to use it, while you're paying. The bathroom, the last two times I used it anyway, was not as clean as I thought it'd be for having to use a code. It was also out of paper, but I forgot to tell them when I came out b/c they were busy, and by the time I received my coffee it'd slipped my mind. Fast, friendly and oh so tasty! Tara was our cashier, she is phenomenal! Justina was our barista and she made us the best coffees, frappuccino plus a super good strawberry smoothie. This a very well managed place. The whole staff seems happy to be here, they work well together with smiles on their faces and pep in their step. I think this store should be the model for every other Starbucks on the planet. Tara works the register like a pro! Saying the same thing over and over can be tedious, but as we've been sitting here close to the register she's made it sound fresh and new for each guest! I would guess they've helped at least 50 people in the 15 to 20 minutes we've been here. We are most impressed! I love the teamwork they have going! I'd so work here! Located in the mall, there is plenty of parking but it may be a bit of a walk depending on how busy the mall is. The staff is friendly and service is efficient. Today my dad and mom went to get a drink from this locations. He got the dragon drink and a carmel frap with extra caramel. His dragon drink was super watered down, hardly had any flavor. When he asked the barista to make it again, it came out exactly the same. The consistency of the drink did not look right. Usually its a creamier color but as shown on the picture there is not that. The caramel frap did not have the extra caramel which wasnt that big of an issue. But my dad was stuck with a super bland drink. They wont be going back. read more

I normally don't go out of my way to write reviews, especially negative ones. But if I would have read a review like this before stepping into this establishment, I would have never made that trip. Other than the young man that took care of remaking my online order, which was nice and professional. I could not ignore what was in front of me while I waited for my drinks to be remade. I understand everyone is struggling with all the changes COVID has brought us and maybe certain things can get overlooked, but this was just disgusting. Fruit fly traps are inexpensive and for such a well-known establishment it is hard to overlook something like this. These pictures don't do it justice, the videos are worse. Was out of town for work but we always have to have our Starbucks. The atmosphere is always relaxing and the staff friendly and welcoming. My go to drink is a Cafe Misto made with the dark roast. My husband always has his lattes with extra shots. Food is good also. A lot of healthier options for those of us that like that sort of thing but there are wonderful treats and pastries as well. And to top it off, it's attached to a Barnes and Nobel. What's better than coffee and books. read more

Early this morning we came into this Starbucks for a coffee and something else. One of the employees was a very busy bee and the other was chatting with a customer that was there before us. She was chatting a little too much, making us wait, even after the customer has already paid and was waiting for her order. Our turn came. We ordered and paid. I paid with a gift card and cash because the gift card wasn't enough. Employee asked if we wanted a receipt, we said no and didn't need the card anymore. Then we waited for our order, for quite a while because the employee was still chatting with the other customer who already had received her order. The other busy employee even told the yapper to stop talking and finish our order. Thank God. We waited and waited. Finally got our order and jetted to work, almost late. I got to work and checked my bank account for a few things. Then I noticed we were charged for the full order and gift card wasn't even applied!!!! I was so pissed! This will probably be the last time I go to this Starbucks ever again. So now my receipt is gone and the card is gone, with money still on it. So I'm assed out altogether. The one star is because my coffee was still good and the other employee opened her mouth and told the yapper to do her damn job. No caramel in my caramel Macchiato. I feel like that's sort of a key ingredient in a CARAMEL Macchiato. Very small trace on the bottome of my cup. When I get my pumpkin creme cold brew the creme doesnt taste like pumpkin and they barely put any on it. The service is always good and upbeat though. read more
