They were down an espresso machine when I walked in (poor drive thru people) but my drink was up right away! The drive thru is so convenient and although the inside is small, it doesn't get too crowded... which is always a plus for students! The customer service was excellent today. This is located at the corner of Lake Murray right before you enter the lake entrance. It's a small parking lot and it appears one entrance is the lone way to get you into the drive thru. The inside of the building is small. I doubt it can fit maybe 10-12 people for seating. They overflowed the seating toward the outside patio area. Guessing most of the business comes from the hikers from the lake. Service was friendly. read more

Is the location of this location absolutely convenient? Yes. However the parking lot mixed with the drive thru is absolute chaos. The lot is really small so it's a pretty tight fit for any car! They do have a nice patio area but inside are only stools, so not the comfiest if you're trying to sit and get work done. Great staff! Always so nice. Of course I'll keep coming here but not too often since it's always pretty dang crowded. read more

The person handling orders at the window was incredibly friendly tone! Not very common here in San Diego. This Starbucks drive through is always incredibly busy with a long line. They deal with loads of people throughout the day and still have lovely service. The quality is consistent, as Starbucks go. The indoor area is on the smaller side, but never gets crowded. It's not a bad place to get some solo work done on a small laptop if you live nearby. Consistent quality, friendly and welcoming service, clean shop, five stars. read more

Today, I came in to order a drink that typically costs $0.80 at other Starbucks: a matcha water, which is just matcha powder stirred in water, nothing fancy whatsoever. They charged me $4.25 for powder stirred in water and they told me they had to charge my drink for a green tea latte, both completely different drinks. $4.25 for some powder stirred in water? I'm good, thanks. I'll make that at home from now on, or order from one of the other Starbucks that will ring it up correctly. Secondly, as I went through the drive-thru, as I pulled up to the window, the guy at the window starts speaking to me then as I respond he starts speaking to his mouthpiece to the customer at the drive through ordering and abruptly shuts his window on me as I'm speaking. Rude. No 'excuse me' or 'hold on one minute,' just a shutting of the window on me. I probably won't be returning here anytime soon since there are so many other locations I haven't had issues with. read more

Starbucks are like the damn ants in my yard - they're everywhere and easy to find. They've even invaded our grocery stores (Starbucks...hopefully not the ants). I prefer to go to non-chain coffee houses, however you usually take a huge chance when you do that. Having grown up in Seattle I am a self-professed coffee snob, so I'm very cautious of where I get my coffee. I always have to debate if I'm going to plunk down some cash at an independet or non-Starbucks coffee places because most places I've gone in California have disappointed me. There are very, very few exceptions. The one thing I do appreciate about Starbucks is that no matter which one I go to, I'm guaranteed at least mediocre coffee. Not great, but not horrible. I've figured out a way to order my drink so it's at least a 7 out of 10. With that said, I like the Starbucks on Lake Murry. It's a drive-through, which is convenient when you have a screaming toddler who very much hates to taken out and put back into her carseat. However the drive-through system leaves much to be desired because if you happen to be going northeast on 70th you will see that the Starbucks is on your left. If you make the left at Kiowa Dr and into the parking lot you have to pull into a parking spot and back out facing the other way in order to take your place in the drive through line. Or you can go past Kiowa to the next intersection at Maryland Ave, make a left and pop a U-ey, then turn right into the parking lot and be facing the right way. Not so convenient. So to end this rant I have to say that this Starbucks makes their espresso better than most, and when I need some caffeine-to-go I hit this particular spot. Only 4 stars for the ridiculous drive-through scenario, but still 4 stars for quality of coffee. read more

As a loyal Starbucks customer, I have been to many locations. This is BY FAR my favorite location. The staff is incredibly friendly ALL THE TIME. No exceptions. I've become a regular and occasionally they'll give me a free coffee, on the house. The remodel looks FANTASTIC. If you're looking to save time, don't use the drive-thru if there's a line of cars. It will save you 10+ mins to go inside. The parking lot can be a nightmare, so I'll usually park on the street, but a little walking never hurt! read more

The only thing about this place is that the parking is very small and inconvenient and there are no tables inside the store, only counter with 6seatings. Staff is very friendly and always pleasant which is a rarity in this day n age. So the review isn't based on that. The parking SUCKS here big time. The drive thru is usually backed up (which isn't their fault) but the line is quite often out in the street on Lake Murray which causes traffic to back up for normal people driving on the street. I don't blame people as much based on how horrible the parking is. It is hard to park when there are cars in line and getting out is an even bigger ordeal. I normally like this Starbucks. They get the drinks right and the people are nice. Yesterday, however, I had a VERY unpleasant experience. After getting our drinks and sitting down inside to relax, someone came out with a mop and starts cleaning the floor. The smell (like PineSol) was so bad I could not really taste my drink anymore, and I actually got a mild headache. I've been doing the Starbuck's dance for about fifteen years (?!!!). This is one of the best Starbuck's I have ever been to. Lucky for me, it is on my way to the park where I bike almost every day. The place is CLEAN, the people who work there are courteous and polite. Best of all they do what they can to recycle. Couldn't disagree more with most of these reviews. Been going to this Bucks' for almost 3 years off and on (trying repeatedly to give them another chance) but after today I'm done. Pros: -location close to my house -drive through Cons: -slowest drive through ever (10 min wait at least - even if only 1 other car) -parking lot is ridiculous. tiny and poorly designed so people get trapped. -they get my very simple order wrong almost EVERY time. I can literally count on both hands the number of times they have gotten my order right. So if you'd like to wait for a long time and roll the dice on what you'll actually receive then this is the joint for you. i don't know what happened to this starbucks used to be my favorite part of starting my day. I now try to avoid it like the plague. Regular crew that knew me I knew them are never there anymore, service is sooooo slow and the place stnks. Toilet area is terrible smell makes u gag. The service here is top notch and I have no idea how they move that fast. Why only 2 stars? This is a poorly designed store. If you are not going through the drive thru, DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE IN THE PARKING LOT!!! YOU WILL BE BLOCKED IN BY PEOPLE IN THE DRIVE THRU!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! Park on the street. You will see others (who are smart) doing that). This location is busy at all hours and assuming there are more than 5 cars at the the drive thru, you will be blocked it every spot (I'm not kidding....). Worst managed Starbucks ever! Slow drive through, not throughly clean counters, slow to prepare my order and what is worse, they laugh at you amongst each other if you complain. The new girl that helped me was nice but obviously all of the other 3 people working with her were inept trainers and colleagues. OK I will give it two stars because let's be honest Starbucks is awesome. This particular Starbucks is a parking nightmare and the drive thru is crazy and a all around danger zone for pedestrians. We had a BBQ to go to and my husband wanted a coffee so I went to turn in and had to stop because some one was leaving and then someone was coming out of the drive thru and everyone wanted out the way I was going in, not to forget that the end of the line for the drive thru was blocking the way to so I was facing cert in death from all sides. I had to back up but there was a like forming behind me so it took us a long while to get get everyone to back up. At that point I was over it so I went to park somewhere else and just walk.. BIG MISTAKE me and the kids weaving between cars and the fact that Lake Murry is the center of then sun made everything so much worse. You know what we ended up getting our beverage pretty fast so. Close to my house and convenient for when I go to or come from work. The place is a little small, but has a Drive-thru. I recommend that if you do use the Drive Thru, don't be in a hurry when they have people waiting, it may take a little while. The staff is friendly and they remember you and your drink order. I came here to get a gift card once and the barista had already started a drink order for the person who walked in and was a regular before he even ordered. I only wish they stayed open a little longer, I like to stop by after work but only when I get off work early since they do close the lobby at 8pm and the Drive Thru at 8:30pm, luckily for me I do have another Starbucks down the next exit that stays open a little longer. read more

They usually have plenty of staff to meet the needs of the busy drive thru crowd and the walk in crowd. There is lots of outdoor seating available and a cute bar against the window. Worst Starbucks I have been to. I go somewhere different every Saturday with my daughter because she likes to take pictures and have Coffee drinks. First off if you park in the "parking lot" its very likely that you will get blocked in by the drive through line. Patio area is spacious but not very attractive, Service inside was quite slow, and last....i ordered an espresso and got about a tablespoon in a full size coffee to go cup. So i wasn't asked if it was for here or to go or maybe they just don't have espresso cups other than what they sell. After i showed it to the girl (excuse me...Barista) behind the counter she says Yeah that's the espresso......and walks off. Too bad, wont be going back with so many good coffee shops around and so many Starbucks that put this one to shame. read more

I live around the corner from this location, and they are the best. Their parking is absolutely terrible, and there is always a huge line in the drive thru, but their service is incredible. The people, and their drinks are just...better! I waited in line for a couple minutes and they guy was so animated while taking my order. He was so helpful while I wanted to reload my Starbucks card. He also made great conversation and made me leave feeling extra happy. Its worth the wait at this one. PLUS, this Starbucks makes my drinks exactly how I want them. I've been ordering the Chai Tea Frap lately, and they dusted it with cinnamon. So good! This location is doing awesome things.
