Hit it or Quit it: Hit it only if Jackson Coffee Co. is closed (Sundays). Quickly: The manifestation of the greater corporate takeover of small town America. I've been to many Starbucks', mostly in large cities, because I was made to. I'm not a fan. I think it's perceived as 'cool' so people either pretend to like it or convince themselves to like it. The coffee isn't that good and their food is sub par with the exception of the delectable cakepops. Prices are a bit high. What this Starbucks brings to Jackson, however, is sorely needed. Starbucks' typical store brand...a classy and chill place to hang. Loungy. I always use alternatives in big cities but there is a dearth of such establishments here. Still, I think Jackson Coffee Co. is a better option doing the same thing. Then there is Bigbby which is always a solid. Together with JCC you have two good places to go instead *and* you support local business at the same time. Take that, socially conscious hipsters! Panera is another decent place, across the street. All basically places for young, hip, upward mobile 20 and 30 somethings to gather. Along with Starbucks, these all represent alternatives to the ubiquitous 'bar' that litters Jackson and contributes to gastroenterologist's salaries everywhere. However, I'm also anti-Starbucks at a higher level...not a fan of their racist CEO. *gasp* he's racist? Yes. He is. I really miss the old management and staff! Not sure what's happened but every time I come in either my drink is made the wrong size or wrong flavor or they all together make it wrong or forget to add a ingredient...and it's even written on the cup!! I've ordered a kid temp grande h.c amd I got a kid size when I told the kid all he did was make another kid size?? I'm like hello nope...tacky!!! This location is EXTREMELY convenient. Employees are nice, space clean. The drive through line is always packed on weekday mornings, but the hard working employee's move it really fast! I go here about once a month when heading into Jackson to get to Ann Arbor and I don't have time to drive through town to get to Biggby coffee shop. Only complaint is with not w/this location, but corporation overall - Charbucks, pls stop over roasting your beans! Sometimes the acrid smell of over roasted beans actually irritates my eyes. Customer service is very poor here. Only 1 out 5 trips does anyone greet or say hello. Don't bother standing in line because it will be at least 5 minutes before anyone acknowledge or take your order. Use the Starbucks app to order your coffee. I've been to busier Starbucks in Philadelphia and New York that has 110% customer service. read more

Drinks never taste the same here. I order a vanilla sweet cream cold brew and it tastes different EVERY SINGLE TIME. I go over to the meijer location and it always taste right there. And if question the taste of your coffee, You can expect to receive attitude from the barista. Everyone that works the drive thru window are always very friendly and nice. But with a van full of kids the last thing I want is to go inside when my 4 dollar drink tastes disgusting/weak/no flavor. Also my husband ordered a plain cold brew and their was so much ice in it he drank it in literally one minute. COME ON! read more

Nice relaxing music and you can find a seat almost all the time. This is in contrast to most Starbucks that pump up the volume yo! Until your inner ear can't forget the beat when you walk out. We stopped here after lunch on my birthday (11/12) before heading home. Got my free birthday drink! The line was long when I walked through the door but moved pretty quickly. Everyone here was very nice and wished me happy birthday. I didn't know how they knew until I got my drink, the barista had written happy birthday on my cup! :) I like this location. Drive thru line is always ridiculously long, often spilling over into the road. Good luck finding a parking spot if you think going in will be faster, it isn't. I wait the average 10-15 minutes in line to repeatedly be told at the window that what I ordered they are out of. This last time they offered me something else, I reluctantly agreed for them to return again and tell me my replacement item was also all gone. Seriously?! After they removed my food items my drink price sounded wrong, I inquired into the size and informed them it was to be a venti, and could see the small on the counter. The girl says Idk I didn't take your order. I asked them to please charge me for what I ordered. They charge me for a venti and kid you not simply dumped the smaller one into the bigger cup and filled it up with ice (I ordered light ice)and added only milk. The flavor was majorly diluted. We left without our food and a crappy drink that I paid full price for plus the 15 minutes in line . This happens more times than not. We drove straight to Bigby which is where we should have gone in the first place! read more

Nice staff and good quality product. I used to frequent this location multiple times a week on my daily commute from Jackson to Ann Arbor, although due to the long lines and wait both inside and in the drive thru I no longer frequent the establishment. Maybe a second location is needed? read more

There are so many bugs here and it makes a lot of people uncomfortable. For example, there's about 6 dead flies on the food display, lots of bugs flying around, and of course there's plenty crawling on the floors. Noticing how many there are makes me paranoid that one's going to be in my drink. The service is quite slow but I guess that's understandable as there are very little workers and lots of customers in the drive thru, and inside. Still, I wish the service was a bit faster. I wish that there were not so many insects around and it would be greatly appreciated if there were less. Everyone else in my party's drinks took a while but I received mine about 6 minutes after, and they got there's around the same time. They prepared my order and everyone else's correctly and the service was very friendly though. I just am confused on why the put the chocolate on the Java chip on the top when usually it's on the bottom. Also, there was so much milk but I don't really care. I forgot to mention, the drive thru Line is very long but it's no big deal. read more
