As a new transplant to Michigan from my home state of Southern California, immitation is the sincerest form of flattery...just a fun tongue-in-cheek decade or so late. I feel this place has a younger target in mind, so that doesn't bother me. I wasn't initially impressed, but given some afterthought, I will try them again, as I discovered after I ordered, that they offer Tea Lattes. I don't consider myself a complicated coffee consumer (read: snob), however, the temp of the coffee offered was lukewarm at best...which mind you, doesn't bother me, because I'm a water-it-down-with-creamer kinda guy. I really can't subject a place to a bad review based off of one visit with just coffee. I did like that touch of having a drivethrough window, and repurposing what only looked like it was once a Fastfood restaurant. Hey, Repurpose, Recycle, Reuse, right? 10 stars for that! The kids behind the counter were okay, not as brightly eyed and cream cheese sculpted as others I've come across that early in the morning, but they were nice. A friend who makes the Kalamazoo trip often recommended this highway exit, saying there was a Starbucks and other businesses nearby. In the past, Starbucks has gotten itself in hot water for not letting people use its bathrooms. So I was surprised that when I arrived today, they said I needed to be a customer to use the bathroom. I said Okay fine, I will buy something once I'm out of the bathroom. They said no, you have to buy something before you use the bathroom. I have Crohn's and other issues right now, so this was rather disheartening. I bought a croissant for $4 and was given the bathroom code. The croissant was delicious, admittedly, and they warmed it up for me, but had I known they had reversed their policies, I would have stopped somewhere else. The other reason that this location gets one star from me is because I almost tripped in the parking lot, there was some sort of goo in the lot right next to where I parked - It didn't look like a spilled drink or anything like that, so I'm not sure what it was.

In the past at other locations I've gotten coffee that taste like warm milk, the wrong coffee (which honestly found a new fav) and I've even gotten the wax paper still on the cheese on the bragel. Today I paid $7.20 for a 20oz, which seems a little higher than other ones in the area. When I received I thought it felt a little light, I thought maybe just a little extra whip, not that big of a deal. I should've looked! When I got to work I decided to and found that my latte was barely over half full, maybe 2/3s if I'm being generous. Definitely lost a customer today.

We ordered off of the daily specials menu. The cornbread pancakes topped with chili, cheddar cheese and your choice of eggs. The pancakes were sweet like a jiffy type corn bread which complimented the chili and eggs. I topped it off with hot sauce. Also had the special frittata which had spinach, mushrooms, onions and your choice of muffin (chose the pumpkin) and seasonal fruit.
