We chose this place due to the reviews, but found the food to be very greasy. The Mac and cheese was greasy, noodles over cooked, and an off taste with the cheese. The parm chicken quesadilla was way too greasy, chicken had an off flavor. My daughter who eats Mac and cheese everywhere, ate maybe 3 bites and quit. My wife and I split the quesadilla and left more than half on the plate. Service was above average. We also had a side salad where the leaves were the size of dinner plates. As if the kitchen couldn't be bothered with making them manageable sizes for a human to eat. Ranch was good. read more

Nestled in downtown Jackson this place offers plenty of seating and a full bar with several beers on tap. Lots of options on the menu and even some that doesn't include chicken. We arrived just before the busy dinner time on a Saturday night. Greeted and seated quickly. There was some obvious issues on who should be our waitress as several walked by but. One took our order. After 15 minutes and the tables that were sat after us had gotten drinks and their orders taken I flagged down a waitress to see if we should just go elsewhere. She went to go find out who our waiter would be and she came up empty handed. It was decided she would be our waitress. She was semi attentive as getting drink refills... well we didn't get them. We had the appetizer sampler. The boneless wings were great. The Buffalo chicken dip was good. The beer cheese that came with the pretzels was interesting. The Hawaiian chicken sandwich was good and the buffalo mac n cheese lacked a bit of cheese more like butter noodles and buffalo with shredded cheese on the top. However it was plenty of a helping. Worst place I've been to in a long time. Where do I start. I love when you walk in the place and hear the music stop. No waitress for over 15 minutes just scary waitress' looking and walking by the table. The young lady who did see me sitting there asked me if I had been helped and brought me a drink and took my order. 30 minutes for a chicken ceaser salad. When the salad came I could tell it was made with trumps love and kindness. Needless to say I looked at the salad very carefully and never took a bite. I had the dirtiest of birds! This place is baddddassss. Pickle fries, 5 piece tender meal, 10 boneless wings, and calamari, a meal that should feed a family....it fed us twice. The chicken is amazing and I love that they don't sauce their tenders, but serve it on the side so you can try multiple flavors and reheating isn't annoying. The staff was excellent, drinks were quick, and the food was delicious. My whole family walked away full and pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in Jackson MI of all places. My 14 year old ended up winning his district hockey tournament, so whatever you're putting in your chicken......it works! The waitress, I believe her name was Jessica, was so sweet. Couldn't have been nicer. When re-printing the menus, I would definitely re-describe the Greek Chicken Sandwich. It says it's a juicy grilled chicken. I was expecting a grilled chicken breast. No. It was shredded chicken on a pita bun. Not my choice had I known it was shredded. The chicken was cooked well. Super crispy outside and tender inside. I ordered some fried shrimp it was not what I expected, looked like something from a fast food restaurant (they can do better), however the sauce they added was made it much better. Loved the pretzel. Drinks: they have lots to choose from so that's a plus if that's what you came for! Service/Staff: very, very friendly. I love when staff makes you feel welcomed. Our waitress was super friendly I wish I got her name. But you may not see her when you come anyway because she is moving :). Honestly love this place love the sauces the chicken you can't go wrong here!! The servers also offer great advice too which I really appreciate because I can be indecisive!! My only area for improvement is that they often offer you additional sauces which I appreciate I just wish they would state when offering that it's an additional change, it's typically only a dollar or two upcharge but you should be clear the offer adds cost. When my cousins boyfriend came to the US from Britain, this is where we brought him to have his first American meal. He got the chicken tenders and said, "These are so much better than what we have back home." I usually get the House Salad and add shredded chicken, which they do not skimp on the portion of it. I'd like to start my review by expressing my appreciation for the people who work here. In particular, Ricki - one of the kindest bartenders - is such a joy. She's very knowledgeable about the beers, and her mixed drinks are very tasty. In addition, during my sadder, drunker times, she's shown immense empathy for me and other patrons. Another huge thank you to her: I came in the other night, ordered a beer and a large food order. I realized I'd lost my wallet after the fact. Without hesitation, she said, "Don't worry about it. I know you'll settle up." Losing my wallet was highly stressful but she put me at ease despite the fact that I lost my means to pay (and tip) at that moment. The next day, I came to search around the area, but she found it! I cannot thank her enough. I've also had the pleasure of getting to know some cool people who work there: Liv is such a positive energy, has cool life experiences, and great book recs. Jasmine is funny and laid back - really cool to have as a bartender. Everyone else working there seems great too. The cooks are in the back making great food and don't get the kudos they deserve; thanks for making such great eats! That's what makes a bar/restaurant for me. The environment and the people. Please, show them your appreciation and tip well. They work hard! As for the food, I'm far from a culinary expert, but I know what I like: chicken. The should be a tip off, but their chicken is the best in town. So moist and juicy. The batter is flavorful and well seasoned. I often order a bunch of the boneless wings to munch on later, and they still taste great out of the fridge! There're a lot of unique sauces. I trust Ricki to rotate my sauces because, otherwise, I wouldn't be so adventurous. I've become partial to the Cherry Habanero (a little kick, but the sweetness offsets the heat) and maple bacon. I've also had the tenders, which l, in my opinion, are better than the (already amazing) boneless wings. The Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich is also highly enjoyable. Some may shy away from grilled chicken due to the plainness, but they always season the chicken breast well, and the orange teriyaki and fresh pineapple gives the sandwich a nice sweetness to go with the savory chicken. I need to explore outside of the chicken options, but when the chicken is this good, it's hard! I'm not a beer connoisseur, but I am partial to stouts (specifically, non-sweet stouts). DB has so many different beers on tap, and at least three or four options for each kind (the lagers and porters options are overwhelming). Going back to the atmosphere, DB always has a light, chill vibe. I'll see some of the awesome people who work at Sand Hill Crane Winery (also 10/10) and Iron Bark Brewery (great place with trivia on Thursdays) hanging out and talking shop. What a find! This cute little place has fabulous food. My husband had the chicken tenders-the 3 piece-they were huge, moist and tasty-he couldn't eat them all. I ordered the barbecue chicken nachos which I would not recommend to anyone starving or not. There is no nacho cheese on these nachos. The barbecue sauce is nonexistent. It is literally shredded cheese, shredded chicken with absolutely no sauce and raw chopped onion and jalapeño on store-bought cheap nachos go anywhere else, including Taco Bell, and have a better meal. My wife ordered their signature dirty sauce, which is not a decent wing sauce in the least. It is a spicy mayo made into a wing sauce, whatever dumb ass thought this up needs to learn how to cook. Lots of chains right off the exit, but yuck - so ventured downtown - so glad I did. Had maybe the BEST Buffalo Chicken sandwich EVER!! GIGANTIC chicken breast, doused in Buffalo sauce with lettuce on a wonderful bun. Had excellent bleu cheese as well. I have never been to Jackson other than to pass through. I had no idea what an adorable little downtown they had. I was really surprised. We were meeting my son at the half way point from him to us and I Yelped a place for dinner and this is where we ended up. My son and his GF arrived first and decided to sit outside because the music inside was too loud. It was 90 degrees outside. Not the fault of the Dirty Bird, but music that loud on at 6:30 on a Thursday is a bit much. I may be older but my kid is 21 and he made the call that is was too loud, for dinner conversation anyway. The food was good. The margaritas tasted like a mix. They apparently have a lot (144?) beers on tap but it was hard to pull up the website to see the list due to the cell service available. The server even commented on it. All in all I can't point to one bad thing that is the fault of the restaurant except the volume of the music. We did have a lot of yellow jackets flying around our table and the server commented that they have been aggressive lately. I think it would have been helpful if our empty glasses and plates were cleared, I finally started handing them to the server whenever she came back. A can I take anything off the table for you at each visit would be helpful, especially since our table was super big and it was attracting unwanted guests.
