This Starbucks is really just OK. Typically the baristas don't say hi or bye as you come or go, so it doesn't feel very friendly. The place is usually pretty full, typically only a table or two are available when I visit. It can be very distracting - since it's so small, between other guests, the coffee machines/grinders/blenders/ovens, and the music, it can get really loud. When it's cold, whenever the door opens, a cold blast rushes in. Overall, a good place to grab a drink, especially during a walk on a nice day, but it's not the best Starbucks or coffee shop to sit and work from. read more

This Starbucks is located in downtown Geneva among the shops and restaurants of the quaint and historical downtown Geneva. Of all the Starbucks I have been to in the Fox Valley you will find much history and connectedness to the city itself. As I entered I discovered Starbucks version of the neighborhood bar sans alcohol. The staff person at the counter is extremely helpful. Consider visiting this Starbucks if you appreciate this chain store with community flavor. read more

I hate this Starbucks, truly I do. I go to them on a semi-regular basis because they are my only option between dropping my son off for daycare and finishing my commute into work. I order the same drink every time via their mobile app, and I would say 25% of the time I receive the drink I ordered. I don't get what it is. I order the same drink, but it's like they don't know how to make it, and it's a standard menu item. Any other location I go to my drink turns out fine. But this place, I am always rolling the dice and gritting my teeth. It's the morning rush when I come through, and there is a long line of cars, so I don't have the time after I sip my drink and realize it's wrong to sit in line and tell them it tastes wrong. I don't have time, and the people behind me don't have time. That being said, I have obviously not gone in and told them the issue. I'm sure they are kind and helpful and would love to make me happy and satisfied with my order. But it's dumbfounding to me that every other location I go to, even out of state on road trips, and my drink is correct. I don't know if maybe I just have one employee who I am unfortunate enough to get every time and they don't know how to make a Grande Starbucks Doubleshot on Ice, or what. I've gotten to the point where I've tried dropping my drink and ordering something else that seems easier, and then I get handed a venti of that drink when I ordered a grande. Extra coffee kicks ass but not when you're on a calorie restricted diet and have to know exactly what you're consuming all the time without guessing. I will continue to frequent them because I have no better option. But I do hate that I don't get my drink made correctly read more

My husband and I will be moving to this area soon so we camped out in this Starbucks for hours one afternoon to discuss housing options. I loved the baristas at this particular shop. They were friendly and personable. They were also helpful when we asked about dinner suggestions. It was definitely busy (beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon) and the layout felt a bit small, but it's not like there is room to expand the building. I liked that it's on the corner of State and 3rd with big windows to see everyone bustling around outside. read more

The good thing about the Starbucks chain is that you know that your food and drink purchases will be consistent! No doubt, when you go to this particular location, you get the Starbucks quality you expect. And to boot, what makes THIS Starbucks wonderful is their baristas! For example, last night, we strolled in after dinner. We didn't know that it just closed five minutes earlier because we walked in while others were exiting. And while at the counter, I was being indecisive about what to get. (Just the kinda customer they want, right? haha.) Anyway, our barista was so nice and understanding, saying that she sometimes doesn't know what to get either! Then she casually mentioned that they were technically closed but that she would still take our order. Herringbone tile and vintage parlor lights make this Starbucks very fitting for the quaint river town of Geneva. I appreciate the amount of seating. It was a little messy when we where there the other morning...but there were also quite a few kids present. read more

Your staff on April 6th at 4pm was a complete disaster. 3 people stood there and did nothing while my wife and i waited for 10 minutes for a simple drink. I usually hit the Starbucks on Randall and Fargo but was in the area so I decided to stop in at this location. The time I stopped in was at about 6:30 am and the staff was VERY friendly and energetic at that time of morning, something you wouldnt expect at that 6:30 am. I always think this Starbucks has some of the most friendliest staff amongst the other Starbucks locations I have been to. They always add the personal touches with your name on the drink and never seem flustered when there is a long line of people waiting for all their snappy coffee drinks. My best friend and I came here to try the Starbucks Evenings menu. We ordered the bacon-wrapped dates and two glasses of wine. Unfortunately, it turned out they were out of the bacon-wrapped dates, but one of the employees, Christine, was awesome! We ended up ordering the chicken skewers instead (which were great!) and she brought us two orders so we both could have them AND refunded our money for the dates because of the trouble. She went above and beyond. I'm not a huge Starbucks person, especially when there are awesome local coffee shops to frequent, but I would come back to this one any time!! read more

Starbucks is usually pretty across-the-board, but I really like this one. It's located in downtown Geneva, which is pretty, and the interior of the store is really cool because of the old building. I usually see the same two baristas there (as I go around the same time whenever I visit), and they're both really cool and friendly, and not in a fake, creepy way. Can't park at this place. I'm not a Starbucks minion and can get another coffee elsewhere and be happy with but they do have a good product. I've always been told that it's the experience that you pay extra for, and if that's the case this location's not worth it more than the 7 Eleven across the street. The parking lot stinks. I find this Starbucks to be an awesome place to visit! The Barista's are friendly, personable and their knowledge base very good (speaking from my experience as a former Starbucks Barista myself). Service is excellent and wait times are comparatively short even when very busy. The store is kept clean and organized including the restrooms. The products on the shelves are neat and orderly and easy to find what your looking for. Also I appreciate that they now have a bicycle stand outside their front door. Only room for one or two bikes but sufficient enough for this location. read more

I just read the review of someone who did not like the remodeled Starbucks. Well, all I can say and the many Geneva residence I know that use this Starbucks, is "WOW", this remodel job was way over due. It used to be small, feel dirty, with those dirty over stuffed chairs, which took up so much of the small sitting space as it was. Now, the whole interior is fresh, clean, comfortable, a place for so many more patrons to sit and enjoy Geneva or meet a new friend while sipping a favorite drink & pastry. I love the colors on the walls and the new flooring. The new lay out of the bar and most of all the great art work of Geneva on the walls. As for this person who chooses to stay away and go somewhere else for their coffee, all I can say is, "you won't be missed!" read more

Wow-- The Geneva Starbuck's recently went through an interior redesign (and price increase)-- and what a huge disappointment. The previous interior was cozy, comfortable, and welcoming. There were a few tables and chairs for couples/groups, and also more comfortable lazy-boy type chairs for people who wanted to sit and relax, and read the newspaper. Now, the redesign looks more like a train-station. The chairs/tables are gone, as are the comfortable cushion seats. There is a 20 foot long bench against the wall, with small tables, and a single chair. It looks sterile and unwelcoming. The walls used to have nick-knacks that you could browse and purchase-- and they are gone. Huge glass dividers have been installed between the employees and customers giving the place more of a currency-exchange design. While waiting in line, everyone was murmuring about what a mistake the new design is.. and adding insult to injury, the already-high priced drinks are now simply ridiculous. After over 10 years of getting my coffee here, and enjoying the ambiance, I can honestly say I've paid my last visit to the Geneva Starbuck's. What a shame-- reminds me of "New Coke" from the 1980s.. someone at an office somewhere got the brainless idea to improve upon a good thing and just mucked it all up... makes you wonder what people are thinking. The only reason I went to this local Starbuck's was because of the look and charm.. now that it's gone, I'll be saving my money and going to Panera and/or Dunkin Donuts.
