First time at this coffee shop, and I am impressed! Great first impressions with the welcoming entrance with outdoor seating and gorgeous landscaping (I wish I took photos!) Seating indoors also available. Staff are helpful and friendly. I got one of their specialties (barista recommended), cold brew latte with coconut and caramel, just wonderful. Very nice service, but it was too expensive for what we got. My BLT had cold bacon and a ton of lettuce. My husband's sandwich was cold in the middle so it obviously was not freshly made. Pretty disappointed and it cost $50. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I tried their coffee a couple times and have been disappointed every time. The taste just isn't there... It's more of a drip of coffee & all cream in the cup. The food is pretty overpriced for what you really get. The building is cute & homey, but that's really the only thing I've liked so far. The workers are always friendly and ordering our coffee is simple. The tables and chairs they have set-up are cute for a date.

This place is adorable. The dirty chai is delightful. Hot or cold. Both are great. My husband gets a Malibu every time. And they always offer our French bulldog a pup cup and thanks to open door sharing his Instagram video he went viral. @vaderkthefrenchie Traci is always so nice, all their staff is. Open door Coffee is one of the best coffee shops I have been to. Genoa may be an unassuming place for amazing coffee, but alas Open Door is a standout coffee house. They also have a truck that is featured at many markets and events throughout Illinois. My personal favorite drink they offer is the iced matterhorn, but the malibu, the huskie, and the ice bear are equally as delicious. The coffee is strong, but smooth and the flavors are balanced perfectly. Open door has plenty of outdoor seating available, and also a drive thru if you are on the go. Their interior should be finished soon, as they are still finishing up. It was originally just the coffee truck so the coffee house will be a great addition. On Saturday's they feature a walk up window which is a charming touch. The owners and staff are super friendly and are very involved. They often have other vendors come on weekends which makes fun a fun time. We drive 45 min sure to come here, and it's worth it! read more
