August 16, 2016 update-- ordered a cold brew. Replaced with traditional iced coffee without asking. I only know because I watched them make it. Lowered to one star. Won't be back. A clean store but seemingly understaffed. I always mobile order. A 3-8 minute wait is what usually reads. Today I ordered at 7:26. I'm still waiting at 7:43. When I asked about the status, the staff just glared at me and ignored my question. I have never received my drink within the given time frame. I am a die-hard Starbucks fan & was so happy to find this location. The staff is "so-so", they aren't too quick on ordering or making your beverage. However, it does seem like the "hang out" spot for regulars - think "Cheers" - because the employees were chatting it up with several customers. I'm pleased that this location offers actual food, outside of the breakfast sandwiches & breads/pastries. They have the paninis, fruit bento boxes, & salads. While here, I got a vent skinny caramel macchiato & one of the ham & swiss cheese paninis. They warmed it up for me while I waited on my coffee. My coffee was perfect & the panini was delicious! I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical of the panini, but I am glad I gave it a chance. The shop was clean & it pretty decent sized. Of course, they offer free wi-fi for customers. read more

I am very glad that there is a Starbucks located here. In the next few years the demographic will change , and more people will start coming here. The Starbucks across the steet in Target is horrible and thy can't make a drink to save their life! The issue with this location, is that the barista assumes that you like your drinks sweet. If I go to any location in the DC Metro area, it is made to standard...the way I like it. I have to tell these Batista's immediately how many pumps I want (which is the basic pump requirement) or my drink will taste like a diabetics nightmare. Other Han that the treats, sandwiches and accessories are not bad. The inside looks great and I am glad they play different music. Last time I came here, they were playing explicit rap.. They just reopened this location with a drive thru. I clearly stated I wanted a strawberry açaí grande WITh water and no ice. When I said no ice the lady said would you like it with lemonade instead then? I repeated no that I would like it with water. I was in a rush as the drive thru was slow and when I arrived at my job sure enough there was lemonade in it. That's really annoying. read more

The baristas at this location clearly do not go by whatever guide they use to make a specific coffee recipe. It's as if they just wing it & do not care if they get it right. How do you mess up a regular Pike Roast with a splash of cream? You would think I asked for a cup of cream with a splash of coffee. Regular coffee is not supposed to be white. Furthermore, my husbands Toasted White Chocolate Mocha tasted like sugar water. Everytime we visit this location we have to cross our fingers & hope the baristas get it right, but at this point, just throw the whole staff away. read more

This store used to have an awesome different manager and while there was a little 'island' time with ordering, it wasn't at all substantial. Now, under this new management they are slow, inaccurate with orders and always understaffed. This is the 3rd time I've tried to do mobile ordering but it's unavailable. Hello I visited on October 8th 2023. I am completely disappointed and frustrated that we placed a mobile order. With the expectation that when we arrive we can walk in side and seamlessly pick up our order. Now im very late to work because you don't find out that you have to wait in the drive through line because the inside is closed until you physically get here. I would have appreciated if the app would tell you. But nope, they have a tiny sign on the door that you wouldn't be able to read unless you actually walk up to the door. In my opinion that is just too last minute of notice. I could not observe the ambiance. Then once you wait in the long line, you get greeted by employees that don't seem interested at all to work here. Like at least compensate the inconvenience with great customer service. Lastly when we finally got the food, we were handed our, drinks with no brown heat insulator. Our drinks also lost some heat from the long wait in the drive through. (33 minutes) Management needs to address and rectify this immediately. At this point I won't be returning to this location. read more

They are very slow moving here I do understand they have a drive-through but I had to remind them to put my food in the oven. Also I ordered a decaf drink got a caffeinated drink I have a really bad anxiety and it started giving me an anxiety attack. U can actually feel the difference in your blood pressure and heart beat. They're always out of everything all the time no matter how early or late u come in. I used to work for this company and never remember them being so bad. Maybe it's just this location. I always leave a tip but I'm probably not doing that anymore since they only start acting nice once I drop money in the tip jar. The absolute worst starbucks I've ever been to. They almost always don't make the mobile orders until you arrive and ask where your things are. The manager is never around when guest have complaints and the staffs demeanor is unpleasant. I have asked for Almond milk on multiple occasions and have ended up with Whole Milk& an allergic reaction. I just purchase the K cups and make my coffee at home. read more

This franchise location has the best music of any Starbucks I've been to. People waiting for coffee can be seen swaying to the beats on occasion, a great way to wake up and start the day. On the downside though, the service can be painfully slow. Expect extra long waits for drinks, and if ordering through the app, be prepared for the food items to be forgotten, each and every time. First and foremost. I walked in stood there about 2 mins with no one to greet me. There was a lady organizing the shelf behind the register that clearly saw me but proceeded to task. The barista making the drinks attentively acknowledged me and asked me what I wanted for a drink. He made it in about 3 mins and omg. I am sorry to say, but this is the worst Starbucks drink I have ever tasted. I should have asked for my money back but was low on time. There is so much syrup and barely any ice in my drink. The staff here is nice but the service is not. Mobile ordering shows items are out of stock but when I arrived in person they were there so I had to stand in a long line. Hot food is rarely ready in advance when ordering mobile so again you have to a wait. And often they run out of hot breakfast items. This is the only Starbucks on the way into the city where you can easily park and run in and run out (not going to Target Starbucks because that's even worse). Wow..very disappointing. I am a loyal Starbucks customer and have been coming to this particular Starbucks for maybe 8 years. Now I'll try to avoid it. Horrible customer service. They rang my drink up wrong then when I got it the barista said I needed to get back in line to pay for the correct drink. After an awkward conversation of who made the mistake I decided to just take it. When I tasted it (supposed to be without syrup) it clearly had syrup so I took it up again and asked if syrup had been added. The women in a very unsure manner said no. It clearly had been added...but they still refused to make it correctly and acted as if I was being a touchy customer. I always treat all of my baristas kindly being a huge Starbucks fan. But this was a very un-Starbucks way of handling the situation. If I'm paying $7 for a beverage I should be able to expect that it is correctly made and that I wont be stared at and shamed by the staff when having that expectation. read more

This is a classy stop, for a coffee shop! If you are headed out of town in the SE direction towards the beltway, be sure to stop on Pennsylvania Avenue at Donnell drive. you can get your morning Joe and other goodies for the ride. But if you get anything customized (even partially), don't expect them to get it right the first time... or second... or third... Horrible!! The staff were very rude. They didn't even say good morning. No hello no nothing. Then when I approached the counter because I was still waiting on my drink, the barista caught an attitude. Saying someone must've taken that drink b/c she made it already.
