Wonderful people, coffee and food. Its the environment which gets two stars. They are struggling with poor location, heavy traffic and an unwelcoming space. They removed chairs, seating and tables in the main "cafe" making it cold and frankly dirty. Pretty sure Starbucks Corp would shut this location down if they knew the condition. Cold and dank. Feels deliberate due to dwellers in the cafe but really? you could at least clean the floor daily. Sorry Starbucks - need some work here. read more

Ugh. I cannot say that this Starbucks is my favorite Starbucks in the Madison area. I ordered on my phone so that I could pick it up at the drive-thru. When I got there, there were so many cars in the drive-thru. It took a forever just to say I wanted to pick up my drink, which was a Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew. By the time I got to the window, there was an employee there, but she didn't interact with me for a couple minutes. Finally, she asked me what my mobile order name was. When I got my drink, the ice had melted and it hardly tasted like coffee. I was super disappointed and not caffeinated. read more

I love what they have done to the place! I've been there before and after the remodel, and I love the new seating arrangements they have. Although I wish they still had the awesome chessboard tables + boardgames, the overall increase in tabletop capacity makes this particular location much more inviting to patrons looking for places to study/work (me!). My go-to Starbucks! Atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. The staff is always super friendly and make your visit pleasant. This location has great indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. Mobile ordering is great as well, I'll order while sitting at a table (a bit antisocial, haha) and it'll be done in under three minutes. The drive-thru is a bit hectic at times due to the awkward parking lot situation. Although it is understandable because of Noodles and Company and the Babcock ice cream shop in the same vicinity. read more

Honestly think this is the hidden gem of a Starbucks in all of Madison. The entire staff is super accommodating and very friendly. I have very severe allergies and I felt safe in their hands, which I don't always get the feel for at restaurants. The inside is smaller than most Starbucks but there is ample seating and it doesn't feel cramped. The bathroom was clean and we'll stocked. The lobby was periodically kept clean by a barista too, which I greatly appreciated. I didn't go through the drive thru, which seemed busy, but we'll staffed. The parking lot isn't the most accommodating, but being next to noodles and an ice cream shop makes it a happening place. read more

This location is not in a convenient location. The drive through is always backed up and you have to wait an extremely long time. I always order the same thing and it is rarely if ever made correctly. The staff is friendly, but that does not make up for the errors in order making. After waiting so long I usually just leave with my wrong order because it has taken so long in the first place. read more

I placed a mobile order at this location after I saw a movie on a Saturday morning. The order was done correctly. I didn't have any service complaints. The store looked tidy. It's the location and parking that I don't like. I don't fully understand why Starbucks picks such small buildings for their stores. The drive thru looked impossible to get through. There is nowhere for queued up cars to go, in order to get out of the way of a parked car that needs to move. It looks like smart people park on the street and walk in. I would really dislike trying to get a coffee at peak travel times. If I come here again, it will be during off peak times or I will park on the street. read more

My favorite Starbucks! The staff are friendly, the location is convenient. The drive through is nice in theory, but the parking lot is so small and the drive through backs everything up. Still use it though. :) I agree on a remodel. The view would be much better if the seating was on the south side (like Noodles is, in the same building). Alright, it is corporate and a chain. Save your complaints. This place has a drive thru which is important to people like me. It is cold and I hate getting out of the car. The customer service is a mixed bag. Sometimes good, sometimes less than ok. However, they can move a drive-thru line quickly and get you on your way. The parking lot and drive thru here are absolutely terrible. However, the great service more than makes up for it. They're insanely fast and super nice, which makes the process pretty great. For a Starbucks they are pretty good. I have camped out there for an hour or so to take advantage of the free Wi-Fi and have been pleased with how clean the place is and the level of service. When in need, I always pick it over the Panera which is close by because the Starbucks has many power outlets and the Panera only has one I can find. Big downside to this location is that they have a bad parking lot. If you don't pay attention it would be easy to get into an accident there. read more

I love Starbucks but not this location. Mobile ordering isn't great here. A few times I've ordered from my phone and when I get to the store they say they don't have what I ordered. My last visit I ordered an item, barista says with an attitude they are out and I need to stand in line to get a refund. I get in line and when I get to the register, the cashier tells me they actually do have what I ordered and he goes to the back and brings it out. So the barista was just lazy and didn't feel like walking a few steps. What a waste of time. They need to get it together! But overall, most of the people who work here are pretty friendly. read more

Disappointed to say the least. When paying $5.00 for any drink I don't think it's unfair to expect good quality. My soy chai latte was rather tasteless and the two bacon Gouda sandwiches I bought for my girlfriend and I were incredibly cold and of poor quality. Extremely disappointed. read more

The people are pretty nice here. Just thought it was awkward because as soon as you walk in there's really no privacy and the place is pretty small. Just had one of the newer flavours of coffee... the Cascara Latte I believe it was... it really wasn't that good. But it may just not be for me. The place is pretty clean and busy. Kind of crowded. We like this place ok. The coffee is usually pretty good. The staff has almost always been nice. It is convenient for us and it has a drive through which is very nice at 6 in the morning. The inside is unfortunately a dungeon. When they designed this they should have put the seating area on the south side. Big mistake. Please remodel. Furthermore there are trees on their lot that are really suffering. This may be the ultimate responsibility of their facility owner but Starbucks should be contacting them to correct this. There is a tree that was hit by a plow that is struggling for life near the drive through and at the entrance there is a tree that should have been treated for insects but was left to be devoured. If they don't care for their "landscape grounds" how can I be sure that they care for their "coffee grounds". Too often the service area in the drive-through is filthy, I want to give this place more stars because the people are so nice but the service window is a pig sty and the plantings look like some picked over garden supply lot. Been that way for years! Ugh. Update: I've grown tired of this place. The staff has always been terrific but why should they be the only reason I go here. My coffees are hit and miss and they are constantly out of stock on items. How hard is it to regularly stock the paper? They run out of breakfast muffins, bistro boxes and other items all the time. They remodeled the place a few years ago and you would think they would take advantage of the view out back so patrons could have a more pleasant view than their small parking lot. Nope. Nothing changed as far as where the seating area is. The drive through is horrendous though I think it has something to do with local zoning rules. Fitchburg needs to address this because the lot can be a major traffic jam sometimes. Anyway, I've had enough and am taking my business elsewhere. And no, I didn't find a new coffee shop. I really don't know who was working Thursday Night (8/31) but the service really was terrible. I waited 5 minutes at the drive thru speaker before someone took my order, then another 15 before I got my drink. I sat at that window and all three workers looked at me at least twice during those 15 minutes before coming to the window. I asked for light ice, the server gave me regular ice, I order this drink every damn day and I know the difference. He decided to sass me and then took his sweet time fixing it. The drinks are great, fast, etc. Service from one particular guy was... Um what-the-hell. I just ordered a cafe au lait and the guy at the register said "You just ordered a McDonald's drink. Here we call it Misto." I said, "Cafe au lait is French. It means 'coffee with milk.' It's literally a term used in every coffee shop in the world." Always packed and I have seen 4 car accidents in their parking lot. Not a very convenient drive-thru location. Quicker to go inside to order, but a pain to get in and out of the parking lot (without an accident). The coffee is not that great at Bucks, so I don't understand the lines. Ok, so I love Starbucks. I go there daily and have since my high school days in NYC. This location is super convenient for me and they can move a high volume through quickly (sometimes I am amazed). What's not amazing is how I ask for unsweetened drinks and then get to my office to discover a syrupy mess. When I do make it a point to reiterate that it should be unsweetened I am always told by the disembodied voice at the order station that I do not need to ask for it because that is standard unless I ask for sweetener. NOT TRUE. In any given week, I've either had to endure and ingest my syrupy iced venti because life would be terrible without my caffeine kick or have thrown it. Sometimes, if it's the weekend and I've grabbed a coffee that is problematic, I have driven back and had them give me a new one. This happens atleast 1-2 times a week. Not like it's cheap either. The staff are always friendly and apologetic, but I go there for my coffee so am basing my rating on that. read more

Such interesting staff at this Starbucks. Every time I go there for a caramel macchiato, it never tastes like caramel macchiatos from other Starbucks. It tastes like watered down vanilla lattes from the gas station with a splash of caramel. I usually stick to black coffee cause they can't mess that up right? But once in a while that urge for something sweet kicks in, alas it tastes the same each time - watered down vanilla flavored coffee with a dash of caramel. My husband and I frequent this location a couple of times a week and very, very rarely do our drinks not taste up to par. We visited a Starbucks in another and town and both laughed at how critical we were of it. We're a little spoiled by this location! :) The drive-thru, as others have mentioned, fills up fast! But they do a good job pushing everyone through and still delivering yummy treats and drinks. Drinks have always been hot for us; no melted whipped cream or 3/4 full cups here. I love the fact that this Starbucks has a drive through. However, 4 out of 5 times that I have ordered and paid for vanilla to be put into my latte, they did not put it in there. I wait for it to cool down before I start drinking it, so I don't notice until I am several miles away. The staff is very friendly, but this tells me they aren't trained properly.
