On a Saturday morning, there were plenty of tables filled with groups enjoying their drinks, and still plenty of tables left. -Loved that they had a screen to show the progress of the orders. The Tall Man and I needed to make a quick pit stop off the Garden State Parkway. After realizing the closest Starbucks was drive thru only, we drove a couple minutes further and found this location in downtown Cranford. It's one of the nicer Starbucks I've been to, with a clean, spacious cafe area and friendly staff. Bathrooms are decently clean too, with a changing table. Even though things were moderately busy, the person who took our order made sure to verify that the chestnut praline syrup was dairy free. Our drinks and food were made quickly, and we were all set for the road trip ahead. I'll be making a mental note about this Starbucks in case we need another easy stop through Jersey. read more

In recent time I have found that going to Starbucks can be a varied experience depending on everything from the neighborhood to the size of the branch to the State you're in. Starbucks in Cranford is an example of why I tend to prefer the branches in residential neighborhoods. Located in a (relatively) new structure in Cranford across from the train station, this Starbucks is really beautiful. Big windows on the sides let light flood in and it has the more modern style of using dark wood as the main color. In normal times there would be plenty of seating (it could easily fit 20ish people). However during lockdown it is not open for seating, only takeout. What really stands out to me is how amazingly friendly the staff was. They were happy to answer my silly questions about their new drinks and super sweet about taping up my drinks since I was taking them home. I love this branch and would go back any time! read more

Your typical Starbucks! I always love the drinks here and all of their workers are super sweet. In fact, just the other day they didn't have the cold brew I ordered, so they subbed it for an iced coffee with a shot of espresso that tasted almost identical and gave it to me totally free. Some of my favorite drinks here are: -Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew (just as sweet as it sounds) -Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte (great, light flavor, with less caffeine) -Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew (only seasonal unfortunately, but the actual best thing I've ever tasted!) This particular location has good COVID measures too, with a separate side entrance for pickup orders with zero contact necessary. And all of the chairs are removed from the dining area so that people coming in to order have lots of space to spread out. They can get a little backed up with orders but I've never waited for more than ten minutes here. Will surely be back again soon. read more

The staff is rude and is even worse to it's teen patrons. Today my teen daughter and her friends were there as they usually are after school. They were at the counter patiently waiting on some drinks when told they had to move back away from the counter. They did. After a while they were told they needed to leave or the police would be called. Needless to say, my husband made his way down there to speak to the manager. The manager insisted they were "crowding the counter" and it "was unsafe." I will also add they have taped off the cafe sit down area at 2:30 every weekday because they claim that is how they're handling "bad kids." read more

This is a spacious, clean location that often becomes obnoxiously loud and unpleasant due to the entitled tween and teen customers and their "parents." I avoid visiting here after school hours. Seating should be for kids accompanied by adults. Starbucks management should not allow respectful clients and hard working staff to be subjected to the disrespect of that population. Been to this location many times before, but last time I went I did not have a great experience. Due to covid, you can only order online using the Starbucks app which is frustrating if you are in a rush and don't own the app or have $ on it. Also, only a small portion of the store is open and you have to use the door with the ramp. When I got there the small area was packed and my one drink took over 20 minutes. There was no room for anyone to stand and it was freezing outside so no one waited outside. It would be nice if they opened a little more of the store so everyone isn't on top of each other. read more

Before we ventured to the Cranford Fair that day, my father and I came in here for some lunch. I redeemed my two Gold rewards in favor of some Chicken Sante Fe Paninis. The person at the cash register who rung me out had a pleasant attitude. The waiting time for the sandwiches to come out were very minimal. For those who don't know what the Chicken Santa Fe sandwich is, it contains grilled chicken pieces, bell peppers, Pepper Jack Cheese and a spicy sauce on flat bread. When it's all toasted up, the cheese melts. As with any location, the sandwich tasted fresh and NOT overly spicy. This sandwich has always been a long time favorite. As far as drinks are concerned, we only got water since we had coffee in the morning. If we come again, maybe we'll get a coffee drink. But we also got a tube of Sea-Salted Chocolate Almond Bites to split on for dessert. As always, this was a sweet, tasty way to end a fine meal. "NOT Marvelous Madeleines" - It took me a while to realize that Starbucks changed their infamous Madeleines. We felt that the new version WASN'T marvelous because the size was smaller, the taste was too plain, and the price was the same. The old ones were bigger and had a better taste. This will be the last time I'll be buying that stuff from Starbucks. The place overall looked clean. The decorations looked modern. Several tables that were available were electrified with power outlets, which was convenient for those who wanted to charge up their laptops or other portable electronics. More importantly, the seats were comfortable, unlike the hard wooden ones at the Union location on US-22. Overall this is a very good location. We'll probably come back again. read more

I have to update my review just because of the superb customer service i received today. I had to get a secret Santa gift and went here at 5:30am. Looking thru stuff and picked up an Espresso cup in a box didn't know it wasn't secured, long story short i broke it. I offered to pay and they said don't worry. Then i asked about Xmas ornaments and the manager said let me check the back. He said these our last years i think they will be free turns out they were discounted. Both the manager and supervisor were awesome made me buy more stuff than i wanted too. That's the consequences of great customer service!!! Typical Starbucks, baristas are friendly but deserves 3 out of 5 because it is tiny. Because of the size, finding a seat can sometimes be a challenge. If you manage to snatch one of the 6 comfy chairs you are in luck. It isn't a good Starbucks for studying or getting work done. When it gets busy, the line backs up onto the seating area. In terms of accessibility, bathrooms are accessible but very difficult to get to because they are located in the back and tables are packed so tightly makes maneuvering even a narrow manual wheelchair challenging. read more

This new StarB's has got a NYC downtown loft feel. Very comfy work area, or just a cool hang spot. There's another local cafe in the area - Rock'n Joe's that's popular with the locals, myself included mainly because they offer almond milk as another alternative milk. I can't have dairy or soy and I'm sure I'm not the only person since it goes fast at the other cafes - like &Grain in Garwood. So it would be nice to see StarB's offer almond milk too. They continue to keep everything clean and would recommend downloading the app for rewards and discounts on drinks. As a very long time customer I'm disappointed in what this location has become. Staff members are rude when they use to be super super sweet and accommodating. They act as if they are doing you a favor by making your coffee. My most recent visit was horrifying... I made the error of going to the wrong door which was my first mistake. The coffee girl, Steph rudely ignored me until I asked if I was in the wrong line and simply said "yup" in a condescending tone as she walked away. I then went inside where getting a napkin was like a federal crime. Steph again was nasty but this time loud enough for the entire store to hear. Id never my spend money in an establishment where they act like they are entitled to it simply because I walked in the door. It's new and clean and your typical Starbucks. I see two problems. What happened to the size of the muffins, scones, bagels, brownies, and desserts? They shrank about 60 percent but the price didn't. This is for all of Starbucks and not just this location. We visited with another couple on a Saturday night at 9:30 pm after having dinner at a local restaurant. The selection and size of desserts were disappointing so we just stuck to the coffee. Here is the big problem. There was only one table available at this time because it looked like we were in the middle of lunch hour at the local middle and high school. The majority of them were just loitering and not drinking anything. All of the were on their social media devices. Starbucks needs to do something about this because it will continue to be a problem. See Westfield for an example. This is not a hangout. GET OUT and letting paying customers sit and enjoy something. read more

I spent 8 hours studying at this Starbucks earlier this week, and I must say that it's the nicest one I've ever been in. I love the ambience and overall seating arrangement - from the stools to the lounge chairs to your usual tables and chairs. There's an abundance of outlets in this location, which I really appreciated. I chose a window seat, which meant lots of natural lighting. I also found the playlist to be just the right amount of background noise without being distracting. The baristas here are very friendly, prompt, and helpful - not to mention that they make some really delicious drinks. My passion tea lemonade had the perfect proportion of sweetener to lemonade, which is hard to come across. This location is right across the Cranford train station, so it's also convenient! EDIT: This is also the only Starbucks that manages to spell my name correctly. Have been here several times since my last review and still love it! Best staff ever. read more

I only say 4 stars because of a hair I found in a drink. Even after seeing the hair, I drank, and I enjoyed. I was quite shocked that I enjoyed it as much as I did.
