One of my new favorite coffee shops! Came here with a few friends Tuesday late morning and there was no line. There's ample space to sit, work, and take in all the decor. It was impossible to chose what to order because there's so many great options but we settled for the Mango Smoothie, Blackberry Lemongrass and Benito Cold Brew as our drinks. Every drink was a hit and not overly sweet and syrupy like some coffee joints. The fried chicken empanadas were a little hard for the friends that ordered it but not a deal breaker. I got a delicious bean and cheese pupusa. This is one place I can't wait to come back to! read more

Drinks were great, empanadas (both baked and fried) were pretty good, pupusa was fantastic, and pandebono I would not recommend. Definitely not a relaxed/casual sit down cafe, like the other cafes in the area. Do not come here if you want to stay and get some work done. See photo for their rules. Went in here because my usual coffee spot across the street that I drove 25 minutes for is closed for New Year's Day. Shout out to Palmas Cafe for being open! I ordered three fried empanadas (two chicken and one beef). they were okay - the crust is a bit different than I'm used to, but maybe the empanadas I typically have are baked. Also seemed to be more potato than meat in the beef one. The Americano coffee is awful. It gives mostly hot water with a hint of coffee flavor. I tossed it and didn't complain. Granted it's a cafe and not a coffee shop, but it's coffee! They have a plethora of other drinks that may be worth trying, but i will never order coffee here again. The decor inside is nice Also note, this is mostly a beverage and snack place. Very little food on the menu. read more

Palmas is a fairly recent addition to downtown Cranford, but I had heard about it on TikTok. I loved walking into the Salvadoran-owned cafe as it felt very warm and inviting. The staff was friendly and offered great suggestions. Although it was very busy on Saturday afternoon, I was happy to find a few seats available with the background music at the perfect, conversational volume. I only came in to order coffee, but seeing all those delicious pastries and baked goods made me almost change my mind. There were several winter specials available, so I decided to try the dulce de leche latte. I really enjoyed it since it was bold and strong, but had a smooth, sweet finish. There were many tasty-sounding latte choices such as horchata, tiramisu, and the golden palms latte, which is made of turmeric. I look forward to trying one of those the next time that I return. read more

The place is absolutely cute It gives relaxing café chill I'm in New York vibes various aesthetic. They have all types of pastries any type of Matcha lattes coffee whatever your heart desires. Stopped by for breakfast with a friend and it did not disappoint. The Philly cheesesteak empenada was the perfect savory to go with my pumpkin pie matcha, which is an incredible combination. You get the rich earthiness of the matcha and the sweetness of the pumpkin pie. And we couldn't resist some of their other treats when I saw them in the pastry case, so we also got the pistachio scone, which was divine. It has that nice crumbly texture without being too dry and has a delicious pistachio frosting on top. The surprise superstar was their Nutella cruffin. It's like a mini cinnamon roll and it's fantastic. All the baristas were super friendly, and you can tell they take care of their regulars. Plus the vibe is so good with people doing work, others talking with friends, and overall very chill. Highly recommend! read more

Wow, no words can describe this place.. all I can say is amazing effort & business very well done. Service was excellent, they are very quick even with them just opening & a line through the door they are on top of each & every customer. They have a smile, very attentive & polite. Ambiance was nice, I love how aesthetic the cafe is. They put so much thought to it, the interior is beautiful, you have a place to sit inside, outside in the back and even in the front. It could get crowded so if you don't like crowded areas you have the option to sit and eat in the back. You also can sit and plug your computer, to work on your stuff. Overall 10/10. Food was absolutely delicious, I had a pan de bono which was fresh & super soft. I also had a beef empanada which was also fresh, I loved both these items that I had to order it again. I did want to try the cheese papusas but I'm more of a revuelta lover so I skipped on that. Theirs a lot of pastries you can try Now for drinks I had a horchata latte with oatmilk & I loved it because I'm a huge fan of horchata. Not to sweet but perfect touch. My partner had a mango matcha which she also said was super good, tasted organic but it was a little too sweet for her. Overall 10/10 for this place, no disappointment. As a salvadorian, I can say I'm proud of this place, they are doing an amazing job with their business & they will continue to accomplish so much more! The hype is worth it ! I've been here a couple times. They have great wifi, delicious cold brew and a wonderful ambiance. Very instagrammable. The baristas are helpful, bathrooms clean. They have lots of pastry options, empanadas and coffee options. Only disappointment: they don't have a decaf drip coffee option. I found their drip coffee very strong. Beware this place is as busy as Track5. Getting a seat is difficult. Nonetheless, it's worth a visit. read more

Located in cranford downtown- it's a self-serve cafe(order at counter, pick and sit anywhere) with ample seating. Went on a Saturday morning - cafe was pretty busy but we were able to order in few minutes and grab a table. We ordered a skim latte and a cold brew with cold foam, both of which were perfectly brewed and refreshing. For snacks, the banana-walnut muffin was soft and fresh, but the real star was the pan de bono--it was warm, cheesy, and had that perfect chewy texture. Bright and inviting cafe serving coffees, teas, and food with a Latin American twist. Their front display is filled with colorful, homemade pastries and there's also fun seasonal menu to order from. I enjoyed the pumpkin spice horchata latte, whereas the pumpkin spice chai latte was too sweet for my preferences. I'd probably stick to coffee based drinks next time. Palmas cafe is a great new addition to downtown Cranford. Today there was a long line (the social media hype is strong!!!) but the line moved quickly. We got our items within 10 minutes of ordering and found a seat inside. Their tiramisu latte is amazing - just as good as it looks! It was quite filling with a delicious mascarpone cream foam on top. I wanted to try their pupusas, but they were sold out for the day. I really enjoyed the spinach and cheese empanada instead. They have a great selection of coffees, refreshers, and pastries. I loved everything about this place. It's so nice to see Hispanic culture so strong and others enjoying it. I was astonished by the diversity within the staff and the menu. I tried some of the baked empanadas on the menu not pictured because I ate them so quickly lol. My drink was made to perfection and they were able to make it decaf which was a bonus. Genuinely my favorite coffee place in New Jersey. I've gone at least 8 times now, figured I make a review. My favorite coffee is their horchata latte with cold foam! 10/10. The most aesthetically pleasing looking one is def their tiramisu latte, super cute. The service is always friendly and quick. I love their pistachio croissants it's my favorite thing to get there now, my friends typically love the pupusas. The pan de bono is a bit pricey than I'm use to but it is really good even on days that it's not too fresh which is actually really impressive. Would absolutely recommend this place read more

I saw on TikTok that this brand new Salvadoran cafe opened up this past Friday and I couldn't wait to come try it. I came on a Monday to work remotely and let me tell you it was busyyyy already at 10:30 AM. The inside decor is so modern and pretty and the all of the staff were super nice. At first I got their Chagaccino latte which was a mushroom coffee - I wanted to try something new and I'm glad I did! It was pretty good and I definitely would drink it again but also want to try their other drinks. I also got their pistachio scone which was super tasty and the scone was perfectttt, I'm super picky about scones but I loved it. Later on I tried the Philly cheesesteak, ham and cheese, and chicken empanadas. All of them were super delicious and perfectly crispy but had a perfect amount of filling on the inside. I will say that the cheesesteak empanada didn't remind me of a Philly cheesesteak only because it had all of those Hispanic flavors. It was honestly just a better cheesy beef empanada. I worked at the cafe remotely from 10:30 - 5 and it was perfect, there's so many outlets near all of the tables and the WiFi was strong enough for my multiple video teams meetings, and just being in my laptop the whole time. I'll most definitely being working remotely there wayyyyy more often and can't wait to try other items on their food and drink menus! read more

While I've always loved the aesthetic, coffee, and treats at Palmas Café, I recently had an experience that completely changed my feelings about the place. I ordered three coffees and two kids' hot chocolates, and right away I felt the energy from the staff was very dry and disengaged. Unfortunately, my nephew accidentally dropped his hot chocolate -- something that happens with kids -- and the staff didn't offer to replace it. When I asked for a new one, they charged me again without any empathy or understanding for the situation. Overall, I'm very disappointed with how the situation was handled, especially when it involved a child. I hope they take this as an opportunity to improve their customer service. read more

This place just opened up so I decided to try it on a Saturday morning. Waited 40 minutes on the line which was understandable. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. My food and drink was great but I paid $13 for just these two things which I thought was pricey. I've been wanting to try this place since it first opened but never got around to it. Finally went today and got a raspberry matcha latte, horchata latte, and a cheese pupusa and WOW! I have tried a bunch of matcha drinks from different places and this one knocks it out of the ball park. I took a sip from my husband's horchata late and normally I am not a huge fan of cinnamon in drinks but it was pretty good. Ok wow! As a first generation salvi, I was absolutely nervous. Sometimes when places try to take a modern twist on Latin food, it sometimes lose the culture. BUT that is the complete opposite here. I've never felt soooo proud of a salvi place before. The pupusas are authentic. The horchata latte, delicious. The service, spot on. The decoration, absolutely beautiful. This is the such a nice addition to the town and brings in a lot of people from neighboring towns who now come to visit Cranford on a regular basis. Got shaken espresso with almond milk and it was perfect ! I bought the Nutella pistacchio scone and it was a little too hard for my taste, couldn't finish it. My friend had the cheese bread (Latin speciality) which was also average. Didn't really represent Salvadorian foods. I walked in and they only displayed typical American pastries which is great but I came in with the expectation of mainly eating Salvadorian food. I asked for the food menu and they said they only had pupusas and that was all. Cashier was nice but this felt more of like a Starbucks than anything else. read more

They are crazy almost $6.00 for a pupusa elsewhere is half that price. They aren't even that big to justify the price.
