I left a 3 star…read morereview because while there were definitely some good things, like the atmosphere, the food & service missed the mark for me. I ordered a double espresso which was bold & smooth as you would expect & ordered the bacon breakfast wrap. The wrap is HUGE but majority of the bacon was undercooked, which was a bit disappointing since I was really looking forward to it. I had to take most of the bacon out of the wrap as a result. Nothing was terrible, I enjoyed the espresso but the wrap was not quite what I had hoped for. Plus there was a little wait time with picking up my order despite ordering ahead & I was already on a tight time crunch. This was my first Cafe Kabul experience. I'll have to give it another try in the future because the indoor/outdoor seating areas are inviting & can see they have plenty of other delicious drinks to choose from.

It is such a cool concept idea as 2 of the locations are small drive thru, like a backyard shed size. I was confused trying to find it at first because looking it up I didn't see what it would look like. The options for drinks are as endless as if you walked in to a coffee shop and they even have some breakfast food and bakery items on certain days. I pulled up 20 min to closing and was a little worried but I'm so grateful they weren't cleaning and closing everything up yet. The employee was the sweetest and made my drink super quick. Their seasonal options all sound so good and look amazing, I got the headless horseman and subbed the pumpkin whip cream for pumpkin cold foam. They are definitely Instagram worthy coffees!

If you are looking for a little pocket of charm near Skaneateles or Marcellus, NY, Milk House…read moreRoastery is your place. Nestled directly behind a silo inside a historic 1700s farm cellar, this family-run farm and roastery has been open for six years, offering an authentic country farm hideaway vibe. While they do not feature an espresso bar, their hot brewed coffee, iced coffee, and canned cold brew with oat milk are wonderful. I particularly enjoyed their iced coffee with cream and their housemade brown sugar nutmeg simple syrup--a recipe the owner and coffee master was more than happy to share after I admired it. They also carry a small but pleasantly unexpected selection of artisan foods from around the Finger Lakes area, including granola, shortbread cookies, pastas, specialty salts, and more. Plus, they sell their beans by the pound--beans which they source directly from coffee growers and roast weekly on-site. Additionally, following the farm's first dahlia show this September, I was able to purchase some of their dahlia seeds--which came complete with expert planting and transplanting advice from the owner. Overall, the pricing is fair, with the canned cold brews leaning slightly expensive, but in a pleasant, small-splurge kind of way. While there are tables available, the space is better suited for catching up with a small group of friends rather than setting up to work for hours. The hospitality is exceptional, and the entire experience feels deeply connected to the farm. Make the extra effort to stop here the next time you're traveling through the area! CAUTION: Check their website for hours before you go; they have fairly limited operating hours, so definitely plan ahead to stop by on your way to anywhere else in the area!

This location only served breakfast which was a bummer because my hubby enjoyed their chili at the Akron location. I was looking for packaged coffee beans to give to a friend but this location did not have it. This was like the 3rd Tim Horton's I've stopped for their home roasted coffee beans and none of them carried it. I was beginning to wonder if they have them available for sale at all. Anyway, we ended up just getting breakfast. Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich for me and hubby got their Toasted Everything Bagel. He loved the sandwich but he didn't care for their coffee. He said it tasted bland and not strong enough... i dunno, I don't drink coffee so I can't comment. Good service. Lots of community tables for seating. Review #3016

Visiting Shamballa Cafe today really makes me wonder: why do I even bother with chain coffee shops?…read more First and foremost: the coffee is awesome! I went with what was in the vat today: a medium roast that I believe was called blue moon. I forget the provenance of said roast (I remember it was South American), but my oh my was it good! Exactly what you want a medium roast to be: balanced, with notes of whatever chocolate or berries or leather is in there. I couldn't put the cup down! Whereas getting the sludge from the big chains down the gullet sometimes feels like a morning chore. Why is the coffee so good here? It turns out that the owner (a very friendly guy named Emmett) roasts it himself. He had several varieties on offer that were roasted within the last 24 hours, maybe even this morning. That particular minutiae is a blur as I wasn't caffeinated yet when we discussed this. But it's yet another huge benefit a local cafe provides: freshness! Another thing: Shamballa is a great restorer of faith in community and our fellow humans. Emmett and I discussed many things in my fairly brief time in his shop, but I'll never forget the empathy he displayed when discussing some current trials & tribulations. It turns out he's been down the same road, and his well-wishes and kindness made for an even finer accompaniment to the coffee than the coffee cake muffin pairing that was purchased on impulse. A double espresso was consumed on-site while 2 large coffees were taken to go. The espresso was awesome, 100x better than Sbux or Dunkin'. Total for 3 beverages? Less than $8! For later, I grabbed a 1/2 lb. of whole bean Guatemalan medium roast on Emmett's recommendation, and the coffee cake muffin was moist and delicious without being too crumbly or cloyingly saccharine. Drake's it was not! A ten spot covered the latter purchase. If I lived in Baldwinsville, I'd probably stop by here every morning! Except Sunday and Monday when they're closed. Be sure to arrive early, closing time is now noon. Please swing by Shamballa and see for yourself! Perhaps you too will ponder why we make grabbing coffee a chore, when it can be a true morning delight?
