Final straw, waitress sat a large table near us and immediately started taking their order. Incredibly she acted surprised when I interrupted her to ask why? No response as we walked out saying we would not be back.

Well before it's charming renovation, back to when it had leather bar stools at the bakery counter and Jim in the back making the best apple fritters you've ever had. I come whenever I'm in town and it's always good. I think more than anything I come for the nostalgia. The Rice Krispie treats are always a solid pick and I enjoy them a lot. Same with the smiley face cookies, the bakery frosting is the best. I got a parfait for the first time since high school though and was sorely disappointed. They used to use wake robin yogurt (which I do remember them discontinuing some years ago), but now the yogurt is SO sweet. Overall it makes the parfait too sweet with the homemade granola and blueberry coulis. I couldn't help but notice how much smaller the parfait portions are too. They used to be full sized cups and now they're nearly half their former size which was definitely disappointing considering the price has certainly not gone down. In summary, the bakery will always hold a special place in my heart. Been going since I was a baby. The treats are good, sandwiches are solid, and they have a wide variety of beverages. I asked the barista about any homemade syrups, because I like to find interesting flavors and some unusually delicious combinations. They have a full selection of bottled syrups but the barista pointed out that if there are homemade syrups they will be featured on the drink specials. I selected the special Matcha Latte with espresso, homemade fig syrup and homemade plum bitters.....WOW!! It hit every note for me.
