The ambiance here is why you need to stop! An adorable coffee and tea shop made from the bones of an old bank. Its so comfortable inside with attention to detail on providing a relaxing experience for the customer. The drinks here are also fantastic, and the rotating specials provide a way to try a variety of styles to some of your favorite drinks. If I am out in Fulton I always try to make a stop.

Mikaela Tubolino and Kayla Kimball recently opened 114 Reserve, a coffee and tea café, in the city of Fulton. The two friends met while attending school in the Red Creek School district, in Wayne County, and opened 114 Reserve in a space formerly occupied by a bank. The openness of the former bank lobby lends itself to a space to gather, and the counter where customers order their drinks, used to be the counter where the tellers dispensed cash. The former bank drive-thru functions as a current drive-thru for customers to get their coffee on the go. The space is a great building for a coffee shop, as there's big windows to let in natural light on one side of the building. The cafe uses local small businesses to supply their shop, including getting their baked good from Geddes Bakery, their drip coffee from Recess, their decaf from Happy Hippy & biscotti from Boozey's Biscotti in Fulton. My wife and I were on a grocery run in Fulton and wanted to find some non-chain coffee and came across 114 Reserve from a quick Google search. They were close by so we figured we'd give them a try. My one and only complaint about the place is there's just not enough signage out front. There's one "coffee" standing sign out front and for people who don't live in the area, for a place occupying a former bank, it's very difficult to tell where the place is. But the inside has been remodeled nicely. The big oval counter where the tellers used to be makes for a cool service counter, and the space is big, nicely lit from all the windows, and has plenty of space between the back room and front room for people to sit. Tables, couches, comfy chairs & electric fireplaces fill the space to create a comforting environment. Employees were very nice. Coffee was good and made to our liking. Was a tad expensive but I'd say on par with most similar coffee shops. Two large drinks came to around $17. We'd definitely go again if in the area.

It is still so cool to me that this place used to be a bank! Now it has two young owners who really put their heart into this place. I ordered some hot cocoa and the richness of the chocolate alone would have me coming back. The outside still has a bit of a bank feel so it's less appealing to the eye if you don't know what's inside. But the decor and feeling you get inside is warm, cozy, and comfortable. There's various seating options, tons of space for your group, and space to sit if you want to study or be alone while you enjoy your order.

Stopped in for a mid day pick me up. Hard to choose among the holiday latte choices but I went with Honey I'm Nuts latte, delicious! Highly recommend! Such a cute little place with plenty of comfortable seating.

Visiting Shamballa Cafe today really makes me wonder: why do I even bother with chain coffee shops?…read more First and foremost: the coffee is awesome! I went with what was in the vat today: a medium roast that I believe was called blue moon. I forget the provenance of said roast (I remember it was South American), but my oh my was it good! Exactly what you want a medium roast to be: balanced, with notes of whatever chocolate or berries or leather is in there. I couldn't put the cup down! Whereas getting the sludge from the big chains down the gullet sometimes feels like a morning chore. Why is the coffee so good here? It turns out that the owner (a very friendly guy named Emmett) roasts it himself. He had several varieties on offer that were roasted within the last 24 hours, maybe even this morning. That particular minutiae is a blur as I wasn't caffeinated yet when we discussed this. But it's yet another huge benefit a local cafe provides: freshness! Another thing: Shamballa is a great restorer of faith in community and our fellow humans. Emmett and I discussed many things in my fairly brief time in his shop, but I'll never forget the empathy he displayed when discussing some current trials & tribulations. It turns out he's been down the same road, and his well-wishes and kindness made for an even finer accompaniment to the coffee than the coffee cake muffin pairing that was purchased on impulse. A double espresso was consumed on-site while 2 large coffees were taken to go. The espresso was awesome, 100x better than Sbux or Dunkin'. Total for 3 beverages? Less than $8! For later, I grabbed a 1/2 lb. of whole bean Guatemalan medium roast on Emmett's recommendation, and the coffee cake muffin was moist and delicious without being too crumbly or cloyingly saccharine. Drake's it was not! A ten spot covered the latter purchase. If I lived in Baldwinsville, I'd probably stop by here every morning! Except Sunday and Monday when they're closed. Be sure to arrive early, closing time is now noon. Please swing by Shamballa and see for yourself! Perhaps you too will ponder why we make grabbing coffee a chore, when it can be a true morning delight?

With that said, I feel very lucky to have this place right next to me. I have a great donut place that doesn't leave me missing all the options I left behind. I found this place early on, and it quickly became cemented into our Saturday morning routine. If I weren't such a shut in, this would easily be my go to place to hang out and relax with a donut and a latte. Super welcoming place you'd be happy to sit down in. These are top tier donuts I'd compare to any other revered place you've been to. I don't normally go for headlights, but here they're my first choice because the frosting is perfect. Even the simple donuts are a straight up euphoric experience. They don't do food outside of donuts and sometimes some other baked goods. Then they have a full coffee/espresso menu. This past summer they started using the location for the Afternoon Scoop, where they're not afraid to combine these donuts with soft serve or Perry's ice cream. And huge bonus points to them for staying open through the winter. It definitely gets expensive coming here. I may just be out of touch with normal prices, but it feels kind of high here, with donuts starting at $2.00 a piece. The only other drawback is that they can sell out any time. Some mornings I show up at 10:00 and there's almost nothing left. If anything, it speaks to the quality of the product, and you can always get around it by showing up early.

During a time when many businesses were just trying to keep the doors open and the lights on this donut shop was born. For many of us we appreciate the fact that we have an alternative to DD. Well here we are a place we can go grab a half dozen donuts and coffee and head to work. Anyone that knows that making donuts is both an art and a passion. Not to borrow from the other aforementioned but there is a reason for the image of "it's time to make the donuts" and early rising of the donut man. The same is true today. It takes dedication and attention to deal. Here the proof is in the first bite. Here I think there is something for everyone from the more standard donut to the more premium. I was delighted when I found they have pistachio flavor for your latte. I've been asking around for the past two years when I first had a pistachio latte in the Adirondacks of all places. Again, it was a nice diverge from the normal and the everyday. I give the new owners and staff props for braving this new economy and hope they continue with what they have going.
