If you are looking for a little pocket of charm near Skaneateles or Marcellus, NY, Milk House…read moreRoastery is your place. Nestled directly behind a silo inside a historic 1700s farm cellar, this family-run farm and roastery has been open for six years, offering an authentic country farm hideaway vibe. While they do not feature an espresso bar, their hot brewed coffee, iced coffee, and canned cold brew with oat milk are wonderful. I particularly enjoyed their iced coffee with cream and their housemade brown sugar nutmeg simple syrup--a recipe the owner and coffee master was more than happy to share after I admired it. They also carry a small but pleasantly unexpected selection of artisan foods from around the Finger Lakes area, including granola, shortbread cookies, pastas, specialty salts, and more. Plus, they sell their beans by the pound--beans which they source directly from coffee growers and roast weekly on-site. Additionally, following the farm's first dahlia show this September, I was able to purchase some of their dahlia seeds--which came complete with expert planting and transplanting advice from the owner. Overall, the pricing is fair, with the canned cold brews leaning slightly expensive, but in a pleasant, small-splurge kind of way. While there are tables available, the space is better suited for catching up with a small group of friends rather than setting up to work for hours. The hospitality is exceptional, and the entire experience feels deeply connected to the farm. Make the extra effort to stop here the next time you're traveling through the area! CAUTION: Check their website for hours before you go; they have fairly limited operating hours, so definitely plan ahead to stop by on your way to anywhere else in the area!

The shop's name, White Rabbit Roasting Co., represents the hard times owner Amelia Bucci-Taylor…read moreovercame starting her first business. A fan of "Alice in Wonderland," she said the story helped her through those hard times. White Rabbit opened in September 2024 in the former Nickel Back Jacks redemption center at 8905 S. Seneca St. in the village. Along with coffee roasted by Bucci-Taylor, the café serves teas by Earthly Emporium in Port Byron and baked items by several local producers, including doughnuts, Danishes and muffins by Camerons Bakery in Auburn and, soon, cinnamon buns by Doughlicious in Auburn. White Rabbit also features candles by Eclectic Hedge in Port Byron, a little free library in coordination with the Weedsport Free Library, and tumblers custom-made by Lake Life Laser Studio in Auburn. A village native, Bucci-Taylor previously worked as a licensed practical nurse at Victory Sports Medicine in Skaneateles. She began roasting her own coffee as a hobby while staying home with her son, and shortly thereafter became stuck there due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Encouraged by her husband, Taih, she researched, bought machines and roasted for herself, and then friends and family. Bucci-Taylor said she tries to use the highest quality coffee beans she can find, such as specialty, fair trade and organic. At White Rabbit, it's available by the cup and by the bag. My wife and I live about 10 minutes from Weedsport, but if you know the area, you know there isn't much out here as far as food/drink go. We stopped into White Rabbit for the first time recently and were impressed with everything. The coffee was good, plenty of flavors and specials to choose from. We got a crossiant donut from Camerons that was delicious. Nicely redecorated inside. Employees were friendly, including Bucci-Taylor herself who was behind the counter slinging drinks. Prices were comparable to other coffee places. Definitely prefer giving my money to fresh roasted, local over the big chains, so we'll definitely be back.

The cafe was slow upon our arrival and I ordered a small Cappuccino ($5.94) and it was excellent. Location has a small outdoor patio which is very nice and the inside is beautiful with the brick walls and large windows. The only reason this wasn't a 5* review is the service we received. When someone is waiting on you and their not paying attention to you or your order, too busy restocking cup lids etc. Asking you to repeat yourself and not even looking at you.... that just takes away from the experience. .

It is such a cool concept idea as 2 of the locations are small drive thru, like a backyard shed size. The options for drinks are as endless as if you walked in to a coffee shop and they even have some breakfast food and bakery items on certain days. I pulled up 20 min to closing and was a little worried but I'm so grateful they weren't cleaning and closing everything up yet. The employee was the sweetest and made my drink super quick. Their seasonal options all sound so good and look amazing, I got the headless horseman and subbed the pumpkin whip cream for pumpkin cold foam. They are definitely Instagram worthy coffees!

I also want to acknowledge the business owner; he really did a lot for the community in the early days of the pandemic and I'll never forget that. He still exudes positivity despite the many demands of small business ownership. Anyway, if you're in the area, stop by Crow city roasters! I believe you can also order online for pickup!

They love to have a good chat about tea and will remember you the next time you come in because they run the place themselves. There honestly aren't a lot of places like that around anymore, so it's refreshing. Their tea selection is absolutely off the charts. So much variety in the types of teas they offer and they often have new ones on rotation. They're always happy to give you a recommendation whether you're new to tea or if your favorite is out of stock! Some of my favorites I'd recommend from their shop include: Black (most caffeine): Honey Hong Cha, Wild Tree Purple Oolong: Four Seasons, Milk Oolong Green: Jasmine Pearls Herbal (caffeine free): Hibiscus, Lemongrass, Chamomile They also sell a bunch of tea-related equipment from beautiful cups and pots to small gifts like infusers, tea journals, and $3 sample bags. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much of their unassuming food menu but it was actually very good. In particular, I tried their red wine chili which was INCREDIBLE. I've never had that style of chili before, but it was show-stopping. They also host kitchen takeovers and tasting events in collaboration with From Scratch Caz, which are incredibly fun and delicious! I loved their recent oolong-themed event and am looking forward to the new event next month! Truly a series I hope they continue for the foreseeable future. I haven't tried their bubble tea, mostly because... why would I? This place is an absolute gem for good loose tea and I savor that unique experience each time I drive up from Binghamton to visit. I'm sure the bubble tea is good, but you're really missing out if you don't share a nice pot of tea with friends on a quiet afternoon here. Truly a hidden gem. If I lived near Cazenovia, this would be my go-to third place. So I come here as often as I can and hope you get the chance to, as well! Really glad to have found this place, especially with the recent closures of some other tea shops around CNY the last few years. Show them some love!

At the counter they have a case of baked goods, I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll, but my partner found it too dry. The employees were super nice, which is always a plus at a business where customizing your order is part of the process. I will say that the pu-er tea late that I ordered was very weak. Even with a cinnamon brown sugar flavor shot it felt lacking. They sell a large variety of loose leaf teas, shirts, granola, and other goodies. For those who are religious, they have a prayer board where you can write prayers and hang them up. If I was going off just aesthetics the place looks great, but the tea was lacking, and the cinnamon roll only appeased 1 out of 2 people so I think I'm forced to give it a 3 out of 5.
