Tiny Starbucks in the corner of one of the larger buildings (either the Hyatt or the American Surgeons building). There's no entrance to the main building in which it is housed, and the accessible entrance is a bit east of the main entrance (the main is simply a revolving door). There are a few tables in here and they sell all the standard Starbucks stuff. You've been to one Starbucks, you've generally been to them all; the service here was fine. read more

The manager of this place is a truly evil human. I've been coming all day after buying breakfast there to refill my ice as I just within the last 48 hours been in a motorcycle crash where my shoulder was really messed up and I've been putting their extra large cups of ice in my shoulder sling and it was like the perfect way to ice it and I showed up for the fourth time the people who worked there were beautiful so understanding so sweet and the manager as the girls saying yeah I hand me your bottle the manager goes don't you dare make her buy something in a super rude way and I had said I've been buying things all day. I'm literally just getting ice. I was in a terrible accident like I can't move my arm. It's it's Just help with my arm pain like I'll buy the ice if I have to, but it's crazy that this is my fifth visit and this is what's being said. The manager proceeded to say no you don't deserve to to get any ice mainly because I had asked her to talk to me in a more respectful tone, and I think that triggered her because she was really rude to begin with even to our own employee who had been the sweetest girl to me all day. She then proceeded to start to yell at me the manager, and she had to be held back by one of her employees, and as I was walking out because I got scared for my safety she told me that she hoped I died of dehydration because Chicago is 95° today and we are unwilling to give you water or ice and I'll make sure no other Starbucks does either which is like a really scary thing to say as a management to your customer..... she was unwilling to give me her name which I think she has to in those situations but at that point, I don't think she cared about following any kind of rules as two of her employees had to hold her back from what looked to me like she was gonna jump the counter at me all over a cup of ice to ice my shoulder after I had been hit by a car on my bike.... And was visibly injured and clearly not making up a lie. My arm was in a sling in my entire body was bruised all over. She chose to be a terrible human or maybe she's just a terrible human in general, but that's not how you treat clients and I don't believe that woman deserves to be a manager there let alone a customer service representative anywhere., read more

12/27/2924 Christmas week came here at 5:30am, nice to see them open early. The service was spot on, welcoming, friendly, clean and well stocked. Ordered my usual Grande Vanilla Latte and it was perfect! I think my T-shirt gave me away LOL, great job Starbucks at the Hyatt Centric. read more

The staff are nice enough, but the drinks are universally bad. Every time I order an iced drink, they have espresso on bottom, sauce/syrup, milk, and ice in that order. They don't chill the espresso, so it's always warm at the bottom. Avoid this one and go to the Reserve read more

They won't make basic requests...they act like it's the end of the world or try to convince you to get something you didn't want for a greater price. Don't go here. Walk the few blocks and go to the Starbucks reserve. read more

China was extremely rude. Overly sassy "not my problem" type of attitude. They also have some seating (tables/counter) and one single outlet. However, there is no bathroom inside Starbucks or the connecting businesses (is that even allowed by code as a food establishment?). So if you're hoping to sit for a while, be aware. read more

Worst Starbucks I have ever been to. 1. We asked for a bathroom. They didn't have one. I asked the gentleman in the Hyatt lobby, which is attached, and he said we were welcome to use their bathroom up the elevator. 2. We waited about 10 minutes for our drinks. When they didn't come, my daughter and I rode the elevator upstairs to use the restroom while my husband waited. We came back-no drinks. So he rode the elevator up and used the bathroom. 3. By the time he returned, my daughter's drink came. I waited 5 more minutes, then asked about my drink. She said they were out of the tea. I asked if she was going to tell me. She said sorry, they could refund my money. So I took the refund and went outside to sit in the tables/chairs in front on the street to look at where we were going next, while my daughter drank her drink. 4. The employee rudely came out and told me that the store closed and we had to move out of their chairs! I wish I had looked at her name. This location is in the hotel where we stay four times a year and the employees are always super courteous to us and give us extra milk when needed. Plus they have a wheelchair accessible entrance which is always a plus for us!! read more

I'm going to put 3 stars just because I didn't really get to experience this place. The barista could have been a lot nicer than how i was greeted. Hands crossed in the chest, chewing gum and did not even say hi or hello. I tried ordering iced matcha latte he/she said (not sure if he's a he) ...... i said I'm sorry what? We are out of matcha. Still can barely hear. I was assuming he was mad because the store was closing at 3:30 and i walked in 3:12. Hence im writing this review at 3:30 because i have to go upstairs our room first to be able to sit down and write this. Again he could have been a lot friendlier. Maybe train your employees better. I come to this location for my coffee often! It's located at ground level of the Hyatt hotel. My coffee is always quickly prepared! My critique would be that they definitely run out of the breakfast/goodies on the side if you only have time for a quick bite throughout the day. Also, there isn't much room to stand in line and the line definitely can extend out the door. If they restocked more regularly or had more it'd be great! read more

It's attached to a hotel (Hyatt Centric) and that explains the disarray of the lobby, RTE and the "over it" attitudes of the partners. My drink was made correctly and in a timely manner. The lobby is full of people with baggage (literal luggage) and garbage (wrappers, empty cups, outside garbage) and I can only imagine that's because the customers are tourists and the partners have been treated like garbage from entitled foreigners and Hams wearing tacky printed leggings from Wisconsin, that there are no more fucks to give. At the end of the day, my drink was made correctly, but none of that solid Starbucks charm that I love. read more

This used to be my favorite Starbucks in the city. Tonight I went in to purchase some gift cards while the store was still open. I was sadly served by a barista named Ash who seems to dislike helping people. He scanned my first gift card and threw it right into the puddle of water on the counter. I asked him to please not do that and he just gave me a nasty look. Then a group of customers arrived behind me and he reminded them they close in 10 min. Last time I checked closing in 10 minutes still means you're open. I understand working in a service industry is difficult but I your bad day doesn't need to be your customers problem. read more

Typical corner Starbucks in Chicago. I came here this morning to do some study and get my caffeine. They were open at 5am and I was the first person in. I got a cup of coffee and found a table. I was surprised at the limited amount of seating inside, which was a few tables along the windows, but I guess that's the usual situation in this downtown area where most people come in for their drinks and leave. They were fairly busy and the staff was friendly enough. I was sitting next to the window and the temperature outside was in the 20's, but I was plenty warm with the heaters along the edges. I would come back here again for my morning coffee, but if there was another location close-by with more seating they would probably get my business instead. read more

Went during my lunch time to get an iced white chocolate mocha and their team is usually great, especially in the morning, but at 12 pm the barista made a coffee that tasted like milk with sugar. No coffees flavor. The morning crew is awesome, but at 12pm there is a rude, older heavy set African American cashier who is very rude. Twice she has "assisted" me, and she looks at you like you owe her something. The first time I had an encounter with her, she left the register as I was taking out my money to pay her, and she was focusing the entire time about 4 minutes, on the sandwich machine while I was just standing there holding the money I was going to hand her to pay for my coffee. It wasn't until I asked another employee when I could pay for my coffee that I was able to get on my way. Very busy location but not an excuse to be rude. read more

Located st the bottom of the Hyatt hotel on St. Clair Street. The honorary street names almost got me lost so keep this in mind, one being Howard Draft Way. The staff are quick and friendly. I just want to give stars, unicorns, and major props to Justin there. Went in there tonight for directions and was discombobulated due to walking around looking for Uber pool 1, then 2 (after Uber 1 left me hanging without calling). Sometimes, sucky things happen, but when someone offers simple kindness, props must be given. So I called Starbucks to leave positive thanks for him, and I personalty ask and hope that whoever may read this and appreciate someone like that to please tip kindly and generously! This is my first time at this location & I loved it! I usually come out here for doctors appointment every week & I'm so glad I decided to come here! The employees were super friendly & fast! They all seemed to be working well together which gave the environment a good vibe! They were also extremely quick with getting my order done & I didn't wait at all! This is one of the worst Starbucks II have ever been in. The cashier was extremely rude when I asked s question about an item they had in their display case . They displayed an old fashioned donut and when I asked for one she said she didn't have any. I said why are you displaying it if u don't have it. She didn't care. And refused to answer my question. This Starbucks is located in the Hyatt hotel building. I like how there's wifi. I like how there are tables and chairs outside. I felt rushed one time. I went back a second time and didn't feel as rushed because there was no line behind me. A partner recommended a chestnut praline latte here for me and described its taste to me after I asked why he thought it was 'good'. (I had to ask because I once asked a partner at another Starbucks store if the eggnog was good and they said yes and I thought it was disgusting.) I tried it and yes, it was good, and I've been getting it again since. The line can be quite busy and the staff working the registers will ask the next person in line behind you to place their order if you are still looking at the menu. I felt rushed and even though I was ready, the cashier let the second person behind me go in front of me. OH HAIL NAW. RESPECT MY TIME, TOO. It's good that they are quick with getting customers in and out of there, especially since the space is quite small so there's less room for any long line to form unless it goes into the lobby of the building. Came in to pick up a mobile order that had been placed about 5 mins in advance. Walked in to find the Starbucks pretty much empty and the two employees standing around. My drink hadn't even been started. I had ordered an iced matcha lemonade( one of the easiest drinks to make). After standing around for about 5 mins the barista with the face tattoo walked over to make my drink, adding the lemonade and matcha to my cup and pouring ice over it. Handing it to me without being shaken. Let's be honest no one wants to drink the lemonade and gulp chunks of bitter matcha powder. So I asked her if she can put it in the shaker, she gave me an attitude and proceeded to shake the lemonade. Probably the worse drink I've received from Starbucks. They are Super-duper busy sometimes, it's understandable the reaseon for the delay's, they have a Hotel in the Building and sometimes the customers are wearing pj's *avert my eye's. Worst experience ever!!! Waited over 20 minutes for a drink and was given an attitude when I asked about it. The workers were all very rude and refused to make my drink. I had to ask to see the manager on duty three times before someone finally got the manager, he came out and was defensive, said they get backed up a lot, which would be understandable, however the rudeness is not acceptable. Never received the drink after all that waiting!! Asked to get the number for the store manager, Nancy Yang, but when I called the number it transferred me back to the store I came from and the manager hung up on me. Employees are very friendly! They all greet you with a smile. The place was packed. At the time of the order the lady mentioned that one of the machines was down so it could take longer than usual. I really appreciated the heads up since sometimes we are in a rush. One of the guys is calling you by your name when your beverage is ready and he keeps calling until you pick it up. This review is based on a sandwich I just got there for lunch. It's called the Italian-Style Ham & Spicy Salami. If you've ever had "old" salami, you will understand my dislike. I could smell it all the way back to my office, it was an off brown color and had a horrible taste. It completely ruined the sandwich. Starbucks, make sure your cold cuts stay fresh!! This would definitely dissuade me from getting a sandwich there again. read more

I am always greeted when I enter and the staff is welcoming and ready to take my order. My order has always been made correctly at this location and I have never had any problems. This Starbucks location opened fairly recently and is a great alternative to my usual Starbucks on Ontario which is always packed. This one is probably just as busy but a little closer to work for me. The location is definitely more of a grab and go and not much room to sit as it's in a hotel lobby.
