It is like this place systematized inefficiency. No seating. No clear place for lines. They don't call out the orders when they are ready. You eventually just get frustrated and ask if yours is ready or not then they tell you if it is. Certainly don't expect a smile either. Kind of sad how far this location falls below what Starbucks can be with employees who put in even a modicum of effort. My sandwich also came half assembled. Really mind blowing how little service and product you get in exchange for the price and time waiting you give up. Won't be hurrying back. read more

I went there in the evening and Christopher was the man helping me. I was served quickly and he was very polite. I got my drink and it was perfect and I wasn't made to feel like I was a trouble for ordering which is what I have seen at other pick up only stores. read more

Great Starbucks location. My team met here for a meeting and it worked out really well for us to set up shop and discuss things. It was moderately busy but we had more than enough space in a private area so we didn't get any glares for chatting for an hour straight. Pro-Tip: Use their app. What is this, 2010!? You get freebies. C'mon, get on that. Seriously though,the app is money. I can place my douchey specialized order (iced skinny cinnamon dolce latte with no sprinkles) without sounding like a total canoe. Sidenote, try that latte. Just 80 calories and with 2 shots in it, you'll be amped up with cinnamon spice goodness. Workers were pretty quick, friendly enough, clean location plus they had some outdoor seating on the sidewalk you can camp at if the weather is nice. read more

What I like about this Starbucks is they have the Clover machine, which is a coffee machine that cost over $10,000, and makes a terrific cup of coffee. Not all Starbucks have the Clover machine and I think they shut theirs down around 8:00 p.m. Just ask for a "reserve" cup of coffee and see if you like. It'll cost you though...more like $5.00 for a short not tall cup, but I found the coffee to be smooth as-is. Meaning, I didn't add any cream or sugar to it. I have tried the Guatemala Antigua. I also tried the Jamaican Blue Mountain which I didn't like. I have been there at different times of the day and on the weekends and have experienced good customer service. Most of the baristas and cashiers are pretty friendly and talkative. One even told me I had lipstick on my teeth. Hey, 'ppreciated it as I was on my way to meeting somebody. You will stumble across a line weekday mornings so beware and also on the weekends but it can be hit or miss. ***Update--this store is very good for mobile orders. I go to this Starbucks very regularly, the last 2 days I wanted to order oatmeal and overnight grains and they have no spoons. So only ordered coffee. I asked them why they don't walk literally across the street to Walgreens and buy some. Seems to me they are losing sales for a reason that could be fixed easily. Also this location always has panhandlers. They are aggressive. If there was a closer location that I could eat inside I would go in a heartbeat. read more

Not every Starbucks Coffee shop is not created equal. Well, the interior is. But their quality coffee and espresso drinks are pretty much the same anywhere. Yes, even in Japan. I love what they did with the place. Nice mood lighting everywhere, not too bright,, but not too dark neither. I am in love with the center piece high table with the high chairs and the chandelier with the Edison bulbs. It's a very pretty sight. This is a gathering place for many. To meet, chat, and catch up on things over a cup of coffee. To some, this is a place to study,, bring out the laltop,, headphones and become a student working on projects diligently. To me, this a shop where I can get some pick me up. The service is nice, the barristas are busy doing barrista things and my over all experience was pleasant. This Starbucks has not been able to get a handle on the mobile order issue, and the people they choose to work at this station aren't helping matters. I ordered a sandwich online, and walked into the store at exactly the time it said the order would be ready on the app. I walk up to the counter to ask for my order, since I could see a basket full of food orders, and a very catty woman snapped at me and proceeded to call men for their drink orders and get her flirt on. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting for her to look down at the basket of food orders but she couldn't be bothered. it was busy but not crazy. Finally I walked up to the counter again, looked down to see my order sitting there on top, getting cold, while she was just standing there. Maybe put the good workers on that duty, not the dingbats who stand around trying to look cute. read more

The staff is well trained for proving a variety of coffees and lattes. Superior quality in food and service. There is never a wait for such ordering. In and out in one minute or less. The baristas are always friendly and cheerful, and they know how to keep a line moving. The patio at this location is a great spot for catching either early-morning or evening sun. Always quick and never a huge line. This Division Street Starbucks location is always clean and usually busy. It looks like your decent sized, typical Starbucks and serves your expected beverages and snacks. Service is always polite and efficient. They are friendly and professional. My snacks are always fresh and my beverages are always prepared properly which is nice. You get what you expect with no surprises. Weekend mornings are very busy. No surprise there. Summer Saturday mornings when the Farmer's Market is open really packs in the customers. I love this place, I come here on my lunch break almost everyday! The baristas are super friendly and they are very quick. There is seating available but usually during the afternoons it is pretty busy and hard to find a spot. Perfect location in the summer because they have really nice outdoor chairs. Everyone is so friendly except one girl. I understand not smiling all the time, nobody likes working but she was rude every moment I spoke to her. I asked her a question and she kept interrupting me mid question and had a horrible tone and attitude. I believe she was black with short hair, I did not catch her name. And rolled her eyes when I asked for water at one point. Her other co workers, two tall men, one was all in black and the other a ginger I believe were absolutely so nice when I had asked them a question. I've never given a negative review and I hope I don't have to see her again. I'll be trying to come at a different time of day now. read more

This Starbucks is in a weird location. It might as well be in the train station since its like almost next door to the Clark and Division Line. It can get kind of sketchy at night but then again what does not get sketchy at night. This achieved some type of notoriety when Mayor Daley's Nephew Beat a guy to death outside of this place after a night of clubbing at some place that probably changes names every few years. If you walk in, you may notice guys in their late 60's or early 70's yelling at each other in various eastern european languages and playing cards with each pther, vagrants who have not showered in a few days, students who are doing their homework and people who live in the neighborhood who don't mind all of the above. I stopped by here to charge my phone and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I got the light peppermint mocha to celebrate the holiday season, and FaceTimed my friend for about an hour here too. I seriously hate that I live down the street from this Starbucks. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt given that it's a busy spot, but this is the third time and final straw. The first two times, they got my order wrong. I have a simple order- iced caramel macchiato. And yet somehow I always get an iced latte? The final time, I quite literally watched the baristas neglect my drink while making the "easier" ones instead of the order it is purchased and I had to wait 15 minutes for that one when it wasn't even busy. So frustrating that I have to deal with this and now I'm going to have to start walking to the Wells St Starbucks so somebody can get my order right. read more

Quick, friendly and consistent. My only complaint would be that they consistently wipe the counters with rags then use that same hand to close the lids on the cups (and the lids/cups often leak). As a tip, don't align the drinking hole on the lid to the seam of the cup (that'll help with leaks). Just irks me a bit when I see someone's hand that's been on a wet rag cover my lid then pressed down on it to seal the cup. read more

I am writing this review by comparing my experiences in other Starbucks to this one - and let me tell you, I love giving high star reviews on default. Just that, this location of Starbucks has not met my standards created by its own company. I don't mind the long morning lines. That happens everywhere. But the actual work speed and attitude of employees is what made me want to write this. Starbucks is supposed to be a friendly, welcoming environment- just like how they demonstrated it in the very close other shops like Merchandise Mart, Rush & Oak, or Clark & Hubbard. I come to this one because it is the closest to me and I did not mind, until the baristas were extremely dissing and made me wait quite a while on the register before taking my order. Seriously, the wait wouldn't be an issue, but that feeling of "I couldn't care less" really annoyed me. I will give this two stars and not one because of my respect and love for Starbucks on its own, but this location's baristas need to get their act together. read more

Although the lines can get long on some mornings, this Starbucks team always makes your drink efficiently and correctly! The people at the registers are always so sweet and don't make you feel like you're being a nuisance. Also, the manager is really nice and she handles everything with grace and eloquence. One time she even let me hang out in there when a weird man was following me on the street, and she filled my water bottle up for me. The ONLY thing I have to say that is somewhat negative is that I don't like studying here/doing work, because there seems to be a lot of traffic from loiterers & people begging you for money. With any crowd in downtown Chicago, sometimes they can get creepy or aggressive. However, the manager does a great job with getting them out of the store if they cause a disruption. read more

Your ordinary Starbucks. This location is rather small in square footage compared to most other Chicago Starbucks, but each time I have visited I was quickly served my drinks and food. I particularly enjoy coming to Starbucks just to relax and watch Netflix. I work not too far from this location and if I had another choice of halfway decent coffee, I would dump this location in a heartbeat. Easily the worst, most unpleasant baristas I have ever dealt with at a Starbucks...anywhere, Western Europe included. I go here 2-3 times a week if not more, order the exact same thing each and every time that I go and I get the same, dis-interested look from each and every person that rings me up, each and every time. I consider myself to be a pretty friendly person but I've simply given up on being friendly after almost two years. I put on the same uninterested face as the workers I come into contact with whenever I am there and instead of trying to be pleasant, this seems to p*ss everyone of them off and they take even poorer care of me than if I was cheery and friendly. I'm not sure why Starbucks employs people who "hate" their job the way that the early morning/weekday crew at this location do. If you don't want to help people with their coffee and breakfast at 7:30 in the morning, getting a job at Starbucks and working the early shift might not be the place for you. read more
